I just walked in, got a gallon of milk, and left. (After paying, of course) The point is it only took me 6 minutes to return to my car. I'm not a fan of self check-out, but in this case, it worked for me. The aisles were not cluttered, and the employees seemed pleasant.

Cannot ever reach anyone by phone. Delivered somebody else delivery to my door, perishable products. Called to tell them it was the wrong delivery (do not order perishables for this reason). Reached main operator after trying delivery number for 20 minutes. Been on hold for 1 hour, no one is picking up. Not the first time trying to call with no answer. Third time in 12 months. Don't know if anybody else is better in town. Customer service is dead and gone.

This Walmart has truly gone downhill the class of people that shop and work here are getting a bit sketchy I would not go here at night. Also they almost never have an organized store and always never have enough staff at the registers. The one on west main is much better.

If you do grocery pick up to save time and then like to sit in your car for an hour and a half waiting for you order, then this is the place for you! i could have done my own shopping and been home quicker than this grocery pick up!

just moved to the area and I've always shopped at Walmart but the one in Portage Michigan I will never return to again the people at the service desk are so rude and nasty and the young manager that works there is just as rude and nasty I tried to return an item it scanned at a dollar amount and I asked for in-store credit. they said no because it was $25 and the only return $20 which I understand that but the way they responded to me was so nasty and rude the woman actually started yelling at me the manager came over and he shoved the box back at me and refuse to put it in a bag for me and they told me to leave and also I did was want to try to return an item. . they need to be educated on how to be normal and decent to paying customers and not have the attitude that their Superior to me they're not they work at Walmart they're not any better than me. . I'll make a point of trying to Paw Paw or or the one North Kalamazoo and go there I will never shop at the one at Portage those people in there are horrible. .

One of the better Walmart's around. The store is located in a nice location and has plenty of parking. Almost everything and anything you want is available here.The prices are always the best here and beats out all competitors in that category. There are always amazing deals on clothes, shoes, electronics etc.The Bakery has some of the best selection of desserts which is highly underated.All the social distancing measures are being taken into consideration. Its our go to place for shopping.

Store was well stocked and clean. I was waiting in the Alcohol aisle, ringing the bell every 5 minutes for 40 minutes waiting for an employee to help me out. No one came. I had to seek out an employee for them to find someone else to help.

This Walmart has really gone downhill - always dirty and disorganized, seems to have lots of staff around but not really working. Items are often out of stock. I live on the south east side of Portage and prefer to drive to the W Main location - much nicer and items almost always in stock.

After reading aboutan incident at the self checkout. .. Employees are trained to be cashiers . Customers are not .An Eight dollar Item forgot to becharged and offered to be paid for , and you still wanted to press charges ...

This particular store needs better training, because to say that they are a customer service type organization the politeness is not there. I don't know if it's because of people who don't feel comfortable working there, but I find it crazy that if you go to any Walmart the people with the rudest attitude seem to be working at the customer service desk. It should never be a hassle to get a money order at this store. It makes me feel as if I should go somewhere else and pay the extra money in order to get a money order rather deal with the negative attitude from some people

Remember when Walmart had the 5 dollar dvd bins and it was an absolute mess and you just had to dig through randomly to find what you wanted? That’s this whole store. God forbid you also find what you want you will wait 20 minutes to check out because there are only self checkout lanes open.

This is the worst I have seen any Walmart The store is trashed.....! The( manager) must have ran it thrift shop before this place I've never seen anything like this in a Box store, Instead it looks like B&G outlet down in 3 rivers and for a moment that's where I thought I was.( Wow! ) Can't believe (management ) would allow a store to get like this! Will not be going back to Walmart ever again! MEIJER's here i come. With a store being this unsanitary I feel that it is actually a danger for public health with covid-19 issues everywhere.

Clothes area was a disaster. Find someone you like but can't find where they're supposed to be to get a different size. Clothes draped across hanging items, making it difficult to look through what's available. There's a fitting room, but it's 'out of order'. Saw no staff at all except at the checkout.

What a joke! Placed an online order, the item shows plenty of stock...yeah they'll wait until your there with your trunk open to tell you it's actually out of stock and they won't do anything to make it right. Other than suggesting going inside and give them more money while refusing to refund or issue store credit. I'll never be back, I'll go next door to the Meijer, they actually care about their customers.

I am here often at the Shaver location to grab necessities for restaurant and home use while over in Portage because the store is so much more pleasant and well-stocked than the horrifying one on 9th street much closer to my home. Despite issues created by crummy shoppers stealing stuff (boo) throwing items wherever they feel like and the poor, overworked staff working at 2000% to try to clean up after people that act like savages, this store/location is still my go-to.I commend them for trying very hard to get and keep this store from looking like it has been looted post-apocalypse.a plea to consumers out there: please act like the adults you *should* be and, at the very least, put items you don't wish to buy back where they belong and don't take anything you have no intention of paying for. Your actions affect so many more people than you realize.Okay, off of my soapbox. Thanks, kids.

I like shopping here but getting fed up when I buy alcohol here I get carded. I just turned 60. You barely begin to scan your items and they're right there hovering over you. I even got stopped one time as I was walking out, he asked if the employee carded me. Well, duh!

Decent store. Clean and well maintained with good inventory availability. Friendly and helpful employees. Usually one of the best gasoline prices in the area. Comparatively speaking, this is one of the nicest Walmart locations I've found. It doesn't have the skanky vibe that a lot of them radiate.

I enjoyed my visit to the store. It was clean, stocked and I found exactly what I needed in good time. I took an elderly person with me and she was so happy. She said she found everything on her list. Thank you for good employees that helped her, Portage Walmart! Good job.

Great cell phone mobile services! Verizon, sprint, AT&T New lines and activations w/o the wait. Instant discounts on cell phones in store, Saved me hundreds of dollars!

Avoid this store at all costs, Meijer is 3/4 of a mile away and is a much better option. This Walmart doesn't update their stock against the website, unlike Meijer whose website matches their physical inventory. Now why is this important? Well when shopping for gifts for an event that day I expect to receive the items I've purchased. I don't expect my money to leave my account, receive the notification that my purchase is ready, drive to the store...to only then be told by some stoned teenagers that the items been out of stock for weeks! Oh and Walmart doesn't issue store credit towards a similar item, nope they want to keep my money in their corporate account earning interest for their benefit for 10-14 days before they'll allow me to have my money back...but I was encouraged to go inside and spend more money? And customer service? Hahaha what a joke, they rushed me off the phone without addressing my problem. So I called back asking for store credit...yeah apparently Walmart doesn't do that.So thank you Walmart for effectively stealing $200 from me today. And thank your employees for the advice on going inside to buy a similar item...I did just that, at Meijer and hey Walmart management I spent twice what I would have at your disgraceful store. Yup. Y'all lost a sale and a customer today. I also took care of my weekly shopping. All told Meijer earned $500 from me today. Hope those couple of pennies you earn on my money is worth it because I will NEVER shop at your establishment again. Not when Meijer has never disappointed or refused to make a situation right for the customer.

They have done some remodeling and is now mostly check yourself out. I don't know about that with large grocery order but does seem the lines are less congested since opening many more self serve lines.

What ever happened to customer service? You won't find it at this location. They act like you should be grateful for the opportunity to shop in their store. Haha I'll just go back to Meijer. They have a better selection anyway.

I had a tire put on my Avalanche in the car care center And i am very pleased with the customer service. Jessica (Shop Mom) and team handled my issue flawlessly! Everything is back to normal on my vehicle! I highly reccomend their services. Thank you guys
