Wonderful spot for all. How cool to have 6 dairy-free choices!! 4 sorbets and 2 oat milk ice creams. Generous portions and amazing selection. Super busy with line out the door but it moved quickly and staff were kind and friendly.

Great idea having ppl pay before ordering. It's always challenging to try to hold an ice cream cone and try to open a wallet.The location is great, in town and easy to walk to. Across the street there is an open green area with some tables to sit and enjoy the nice weather. In the park there is a sand box with plenty of activities for small tots.

This is a fun, old fashioned ice cream shop. They have about 50 different flavors of ice cream and really good waffle cones.There's not a lot of seating inside, but there are picnic tables outside or you can walk to the pier.The pricing is very fair, the staff are friendly.

I don't think I have ever had a bigger ice cream cone! My husband and I both got smalls and we struggled to finish them. They have tons of flavors and the freezer units wrap around the room. Something else I really love is they give a free cone as a military discount, so we got two huge cones for all of $4

We headed up to Port Austin for the 4th of July fireworks and stopped into Blue Moon Ice Cream for a treat beforehand. Upon arriving there was a beastly line out front. We expected this and didn't mind the wait as we knew it was a holiday and the town was packed with people.However, before entering the store an older gentleman and his wife cut the line. When we got in the store, the same older gentleman came out of the back room eating ice cream and when asked for help by another employee, told them no.I obviously don't know who this person was but I can only assume the owner. If you happen to read this, Your establishment's line was wrapped around the corner and your staff was working their tails off. Tacky. Tacky. Tacky.I gave the store a 5 star review because the staff inside were quick, friendly, and organized despite how busy they were. Of course we'll be back because we always stop in when we come by but I hope I don't have to wait in line for 25 minutes to be cut by the owner refusing to help their staff.

We stopped in July 5th and expected a bit of a wait as warned by a local. When we got in there was one group in front of us getting their ice cream so we just popped in line behind them. We saw a cash register and I made a mental note that it was in a strange place as people would have to wade through new arrivals to go pay for their ice cream after getting it. My son stopped me to ask what the bells were on the counter and I looked up and saw a sign (among a few other non descript signs) that explained to ring a bell when you give a tip. Once we waited in line to be served I was greeted with a "number 19?!" I didn't understand and asked the girl to repeat twice. Once finally hearing her I explained confusedly that we didn't have a number. I didn't know anything about a number and that I had never been there before and didn't know how they do things. She then explained we had to go back to the register and pay for our choices and then tell our flavors after. By that time the line had increased to overflowing out the door and we were displaced by at least 2-3 parties. Once returning to cash register I then saw the plain black font sign that explained to order first.While ordering I had repeated what we were getting at the very end to be sure the cashier got it all. Well turns out she didn't and we were short two cups and I wasn't about to go back and repeat the process.Positives: and why I gave it 3 stars.- Very large portions (If you like super large portions - honestly I would prefer half the amount of ice cream and would even pay 3/4 the price).- The pay first system DOES make sense.- Ice cream was tasty.- nice outdoor semi covered sitting areaNegatives:-You have to have a VERY clear way of explaining the pay first process to new customers (in a tourist town you will have many). A Letter sized paper with plain black font is not cutting it. It has to stand out so people don't have the same experience we did.-Maybe have the cashier repeat the order back to the customer to be sure they got everything.

To the owner - There was a staff of 4 girls today Sunday 8/13. There was a girl with blonde hair low pony shorter stockier. She put up the open flag with another girl that was taller and blonde with a pony. It was 3 minutes until opening and the two girls were setting up tables. A lady was walking in because the store door was left open. The stockier blonde girl turned the lady away saying you weren’t open yet. You lost a customer she left very upset. My family and I were waiting outside. We were not greeted or acknowledged and when it was 12:30pm the girls shut the door on us.I’m telling you this because I don’t want you to loose business. We almost left because the girls shut the door on us. Nice thing to do would have been to greet us and say we are open now!There were two other girls inside who were nice that could have taken the lady who left.I hope this feedback helps, I know the girls are young and may need some customer service tips.

Some flavors are delicious, others lacking in flavor. Would recommend sampling before ordering. Not very busy during my two stops. Portions are huge! I’m not usually one to complain about this but my family threw away at least half the ice cream we were given- which we have never even considered doing before. Overall would return here but it’s not the best ice cream place ever.

My family and I have visited this place many times in the past the service was awesome..Sooo today you have a bunch of young people working there ! The customer service get zero stars.Definitely need a older person to give them supervision.Other than that! Place was nice and clean

I'm giving a four star review because you gave a veteran's discount to an Army vet. When I saw that and said I was a Marine vet you didn't offer it to me and laughed and said your son was a Marine. Otherwise nice big heaping chunk of ice-cream that was delicious.All Vets should be offered a discount!

Terrible service…. I have been coming here over 20 years and this was horrible experience. After waiting 40 minutes, I stepped out of line to go look at the ice cream for 5 seconds while my wife and son stayed in line. The acting manager would not serve us because I stepped out of line for 5 seconds to look at ice cream. I have been coming here over 20 years and have always done this and never saw a sign that said I couldn’t. The acting manager went in back room and was talking/texting with owner and said she is just following manager rules and she will be here in 5 minutes and can not serve us. The crowd behind us was yelling at us and we didn’t want to hold up the line so we left. Never go here with these new owners rule to their employees They have all teenagers working with out supervision. They don’t care about serving the public.

The staff was friendly and they gave generous sized scoops. The price was good for the amount you get. I found them online before my trip to Port Austin and Facebook messaged them to ask if they had dairy free flavors since I have a dairy allergy. They got back to me quickly and listed all their dairy free flavors. Unfortunately they told me 6 additional flavors were dairy free and when I got there they all had dairy except 2. One person I went with has a dairy and nut allergy so she was limited to only 1 flavor. It was still good, just sad they didn’t have more allergy friendly variety in a touristy area. They had many regular dairy ice cream flavors.

We really like this place for ice cream when visiting Port Austin during summer! It is a costly, but worth it as the scoops are huge. They have a good selection of ice cream flavors and the people working there are so nice, they let you try on different flovors if you are in doubt what to get.

Amazing! Great selection of flavors and very generous servings. A medium waffle cone is more than enough for most anyone. Also, the “pup cup” for my dogs was free and was plenty for both of them.

The ice cream was decent but service was a little sub par. My friend said that a worker had their thumb in his icecream and none of the workers where wearing gloves. In addition they make you make pay for your ice cream before you even receive it.

Best ice cream i've ever had, you get your moneys worth and the staff's really nice. There's a cool seating area in the back of the shoppe and is generally a really cool place to be. 10/10 would recommend!

Waited for 20 mins just to have the employee come out to say that they were closing and "To bad" you waited but we are closed now. Never going to get my business. Kinda messed up to just turn people away who were already waiting.

I was there earlier and witnessed the owner or an employee start screaming at a young mom with her maybe 7 year old daughter. He then threatened to call the cops and have her arrested for trying to look at the Ice cream without standing in line.

Lots of ice cream choices and a nice little park across the street to eat at. Kinda hot inside while you’re waiting though which may be a while. The line can be confusing so just remember that you pay 1st and get a number that they’ll call later when it’s your turn.
