My dog needed a companion, her original companion moved and she was so sad. I went to the pet adoption center where I seen two possibilities. One was called goose, what a nut case, then Betty, calm gentle soul, whom I fell in love with immediately! I got Betty home and she fit in immediately, day two she turned into a nut...lol. we love her anyway and my other girl is happy with her also! Oh, I forgot, she thinks she's a cat, walking on window ledges...lol

We’ve adopted 2 dogs from Do Only Good Rescue in the shelter. My dogs have been healthy and well-cared for. The staff really cares about the dogs and tries to match them with the best family. Spaying and neutering are included in the adoption fee, but be aware that the fees are not refundable. I want you to rescue a dog from here!

We found a stray senior dog without a collar at 8pm, all the Novi shelters were closed. When we called animal control they directed us to this shelter. We went and the on call guy on duty came. He was so nice and caring. We were worried about this little guy and we felt so much better seeing that he was in good hands and the kennels have a lot of space and nice little beds for all the dogs. Thankful for this place and the guy who helped us! Hoping this poor dog finds a home, he was so sweet and cuddly.

I adopted Aveline almost a month ago (have changed her name to Daisy Lynn) and oh wow. I am absolutely in love with her. She snores, she is very attentive and wants to learn, first week she was literally an angel. Then the second week her truer colors started to show. We will call these growing pains. Growing pains have made me have to cage her daily when I go to work. But now she is getting way more relaxed, and being more of her self. I also have gotten her to her new vet this last week and she is very healthy. Thank you very much.

Called early in am asked about a dog wanted to adopt sooo bad for my disabled Vet son to be a therapy dog... they said he was still there..told them we had to drive 3 hrs to come get him!!!!!!! Asked them to hold him we were on our way..they said they don't hold? Asked if we could put deposit on him...Nope we called twice on the way were told he was still available last call we were 15 minutes away..still there...we walk in door and they ask why we're there? And we said we were there to adopt a certain dog and the girl says Yeah No he just got adopted...Seriously you couldn't wait 15freaking mins... which means the last time we called he was not still available somebody was already in the process of veiwing him and having the paperwork done!!!! So I was lied to....Good job way to run a adoption center......this place is a joke!!!!! Almost 600 mi round trip and tank and a half of gas for the ultimate shaft job!!!!I will be posting my experience on all forums and all groups across the state and in Ohio and Indiana..

I went OCAS a couple weeks ago to find a small dog. They really didn't have any, so I looked and seen Diamond a.k.a now Gypsy. I fell in love at first sight. She was so calm while the others were so excited.My neighbors has a few cats and small dogs. She is so gentle with them. She gets a little excited because she wants to play but she lays down for them when they start barking.The shelter told us she was 5 years old, we found out she was just maybe over a year. So she has lots of energy and I'm an old lady. But we go for daily walks a couple times a day. She has changed my life so much. I'm investing in a trainer to train me really to be the best leader of our pack and for her to be a great pack member. This is a big Challenge and I'm up for it and I want to thank OCAS for giving me my gentle giant and my best friend.

Amazing experience. Its a beautiful facility. I put in an application not really expecting to be offered the dog i applied for, a beautiful black female german shepherd, but a couple of days later i got a call from Adia, and she explained the process and answered all my questions. A day later i was the proud owner of my beautiful Nala. Thanks Adia, you are awesome, and thanks for all you do for the unfortunate animals that people feel so fit to neglect.

They were really nice in there, which is not common nowadays. Well that's subjective, but they were nice and they gave me free wet cat food, and wish they had an over stock of. So good experience.

I adopted my cat Tansy from Oakland animal shelter. I was allowed to spend as much time as I needed with each cat until I made my choice. They have soft music playing and their cages were very clean. She's almost 2 now and our family wouldn't be the same without her in it. I highly recommend Oakland County for finding your future pet adoption.

The staff was great! I got our pup back safe and sound and they thought he was a very nice dog. I happened to have some old towels that I was able to donate too!

I brought my neighborhood stray here that has a broken arm in need of help. They sent me to a vet who asked me for payment. I don't have money I just wanted to help the cat. I literally went in this place crying because I felt so bad about the cat needing help and I have of course developed feelings for the cat and was trying to do the best I can just feeding him even though i can't afford to feed myself. The cat is in my back room with a broken leg because I cannot just euthanize him, he is the sweetest cat ever but you just sent me away like he was my responsibility. I thought you was supposed to be able to take a animal to a shelter when they needed help. It's also bad that a place with so much resource couldn't even bother to point me the right place to help if they weren't going to help.

Oakland County Animal Shelter and Adoption Center is Unconcerned about beautiful 4 month old kittens at the apartment dumpster. I’ve tried to help so much and need help with adoption/trap/help.Oakland County Animal Shelter brings in thousands a month in donations and service fees. Manger Shelly was unhelpful and refused to talk to me. They referred me to All About Animals and they do not have an adoption program!The bottom line is the kittens will suffer and die in the cold this winter.

Wanted to bring in a feral cat for Trap, Neuter, Release program. Had to make an appointment. Possibility of catching and bringing in a feral cat at a special time and day makes the chance of helping this cat go down tremendously. I think he believes he lives here now 😺 He let's me pet him and brush him but bolts the minute he sees a pet carrier or anything to trap him.

I truly appreciate the patience the staff had with me as I met with several dogs. I also appreciate Trisha making suggestions on which one would be the best fit for me. There was also a young lady who was with me the majority of my visit. Didn't get her name unfortunately, but she was AWESOME! I highly reccomend.

Well....we trapped a stray kitten staying in our garage. We went to this "Pet Adoption Center" to get him/her fixed or leave her there for another family to adopt. The girl at the counter was the absolute worst person working in that position. She was rude, condescending and just awful at her job. Basically, her message was "go away, we aren't taking anymore cats." Isn't that what an animal shelter is? We were not giving away an animal we didn't want.....we were trying to take care of a stray kitten. We have done this before and got the animal neutered, but this girl wanted no part of it. So, I guess we are going to Genesee County tomorrow where they actually seem to want to help pets.....and people trying to save them.
