My cousin and I had a very bad experience and encounter with the staff there on Friday May 10th.We were there for a few hours looking, and talking about grain-free food and they gave us the wrong information and lied that it’s ok and safe to give it to our dog just so we would buy it and give them business but then I called a few vets who told me to stay far away and don’t ever give your pets grain-free food because it causes heart disease in dogs. So we left the store and we walked half a block away and 2 employees were chasing after us waving their arms in the street yelling: hey hey wait stop come back here!! My cousin is deaf but I heard them and they had very loud, rude voices. They falsely accused us of theft and asked if we left the store without paying but we never bought anything there because they had the wrong kind of food and it was very expensive and we showed them our bag was empty. They inspected our bag and found nothing and we explained we are not thieves and would never steal. They said ok then went back to the store then we went back to report them to the owner and the manager who weren’t there. They promised the owner would call us back on Monday afternoon but it’s now Tues and we’re still waiting for a call back. I called them a few times on Monday the first time a lady answered then the 2nd time and 3rd time a man answered who I can hear in the background was being coached and controlled what to say by the lady who told him to say: they’ll get back to you when they’re available. He repeated like a parrot the exact same thing several times then rudely hung up on me everytime. The staff is very clueless and not very knowledgeable about pet food do not listen or take their advice they’re just in the business of selling food whether its healthy or not. Consult your vet instead they know what’s best not this staff.

The pet store had a nice variety of freeze-dried treats. The staff was friendly and offered assistance without having to ask. Plus, because it was our first time there they gave us a welcome bag full of goodies for my daughter's cat. I live north of Lansing but I'll go back when I'm in the area visiting family.

The staff are kind & knowledgeable. They sell lots of good quality dog food and products with different meats handy for finding food for dogs with allergies. The wild birds appreciate their seed blends.

I went to this place yesterday for the first time. I live an hr away but was with my daughter who lives out that way. The customer service is the best service I have come across in years. Very helpful and friendly. Bummer that it’s an hour from me.

I took my 2 dogs there and. One of them peed and the women that worked there was very rude and complained about him peeing well pet smart doesn't say anything and cleans it up !!! It's a pet store that's what dogs do !!!!!

I love this place and will only purchase my dog food (I recommend Fromm. Even my vet thinks it's one of the best dog/cat foods out there) from them. They always offer great advice on a variety of items based on my needs/wants. When I was looking at flea/tick prevention for my pets, I expressed my concern about chemicals. They then showed me a natural alternative they had (and it smelled really good). I was so happy! They have a great supply of a variety of toys/treats/supplements, etc. The staff offers to carry your large items to your vehicle, and they are so friendly! There is one special person there that won the heart of my rescue dog (he's extremely shy). They have amazing sales twice a year, and once or twice a year they also have a great photographer that comes along for an amazing price. I have three happy dogs because of this place!

I've been coming to this pet supply store for the last three years and I refuse to go anywhere else! The people that work here are extremely loving and care about you and your animal. My dog absolutely loves coming to this place because she knows how much love and treats that she will receive as soon as she walks into this building. I support this company mainly because they are local and it's very important for all of us to support our local mom-and-pop shops especially one that cares about your pet

I love Specialty Pet Supplies! My kitties are 18 and require a special low phosphorus diet. SPS offers the largest selection of food for them, as well as supplements. The staff is always friendly and helpful! Thankful I found this establishment.

A wide array of specialty pet foods and supplies (you won't get your cheapest brands here). The best part is the very knowledgeable people who work there. They may cost a smidgen more than the big chain stores, but they have way better informed people working and a wider variety of SPECIALTY items (hence the name, I guess :)BTW our vet prescribed a Hills special diet for our cat, but we've had great luck with the Natural Balance limited ingredient diet that has similar ingredients to the Hills. It's less expensive, cat likes it way more, and his hives have gone away. This the kind of specialty food you can get at the store, and I'm very grateful.

I've only owned a dog for six months, but this store is fantastic. The staff appears to be mostly high school and college kids, and they're really friendly every time I go. They surprisingly know their stuff and the place is always very clean. They have just about every dog food and snack I've been able to find on Amazon - tons of grain-free Fromm's and other food brands. They have tons of really healthy snacks for dogs and an entire aisle of toys and grooming tools. Another cool thing about this store - I have parakeets too and there's a whole room for birds. It's a really interesting pet store and they've always had ever item I've gone there to look for.

Great selection of food and treats. Lots of toys, beds, and more. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We went in to repurchase one of our pup's favorite toys that she's had for almost a year. It wasn't on the shelf, but when I described it they knew immediately what it was and were able to order it for me. Plus, they have good sales pretty regularly!

This is the best local pet store in the area. The staff are always willing to help when I am in, either helping me find the right product or helping to carry the dog food bags to my car. Their free local delivery was a huge help for me during the last few months. I placed my order over the phone, and they would deliver within an hour or two which was much faster than I expected! Their price matching and customer appreciation program makes their prices competitive, but their customer service is really what makes them top-notch in my opinion.

I like coming here because of the huge selection of food, toys, and gear for my dogs. Plus they even have equine and bird items. It’s much better than buying online. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. They are excellent with curbside pick up....easy peasy. I love that it’s been independently owned for over 40 years. The owner truly cares about her customers and their pets.

The staff is always friendly and helpful. I know that if a brand has a recall, it's pulled from the shelves quickly. They have taken their employees on tours of some of the pet food companies so that they can all see exactly what's happening to the food before they sell it to their customers.

My go to shop for my dog. They don't sell trash food. Quality foods only. The prices are on par with other stores that sell the same products, but the staff are much more welcoming.If you are the type to feed your pet trash foods, don't go here. These folks sell products for those of us that love to pamper our pets.Been going for around 8 years, and will keep going back.

Very personable staff, they know everything about all types of animals. They can answer any questions I have, and will help me pick out what is best for my dog. I love their food program, you buy 11 bags of food get the 12th free. My pupper gets so excited when we go in, the free treats at the front makes her day!!!

I consistently shop here for my dog Charlie. The people who work the counter are very knowledgeable, offer to assist me, and even greet my dog when I bring him in and offer treats (with my consent), even when he is being not such a good boy and barking! One of the better pet supply stores in the area.

Locally owned store with an excellent t selection of high quality food. Prices are competitive and I can always find coupons in the local advertisements. I appreciate that the staff will always carry my dog food out to the car. This has been especially valuable when I have gone in with a baby or toddler. The kids love saying hello to Leonard the store bird.
