What is it with dog groomers?I set an appointment here two weeks ago. I called today, the day before to just get a price. Didn't need an exact price, but something in the ballpark so I could bring cash and have cash for a tip, etc. No biggie. They refused to give me a price or an idea. They said they had to "see the dog". I gave a description and even offered to send them a photo on the spot. Still a "no" to the price. Unreal! I just wanted a price or a close estimate so I could be prepared.So, I canceled. What a joke. Like people have time to waste. I just wanted a price.Be a professional. Offer a price when clients ask. If there are situations where the price might be more than your base price. Say that and tell them how much. This is not hard. It's 2023 and if you call a place of business and can't get a price it's for 2 reasons.1. They simply are not professionals.2. They don't want to commit to anything so they can charge you whatever once they have you there.I'm guessing #2 in this case.Not cool

I called this place to inquire about a grooming visit and told them that I just moved to the area from New York. I asked if they could accommodate a quicker timeframe for the grooming visit as my dog does not do well with the loud dryers or being crated following grooming. The lady said she would ask and thought she put me on hold and then I proceeded to hear "I don't know what to tell her... tell her to go back to New York" and then they hung up on me. I would never want my dog to be taken care of by these people.In response to the owners comment, I called the salon Wednesday morning at 9 am.

Worst experience at a groomers. Told us $55 over the phone for a cut and a bath, charged me $90 because my cat wasn’t happy about having his hair cut and because supposedly it took more than one person. What cat enjoys getting his hair cut? Then to add to it they didn’t even bath him or cut his nails, yet charged me for all of it. Wife called asking for an explanation and a refund for the services that they didn’t even do but they suggest me taking him back up there a second time so they can finish their job that they couldn’t do right the first time. Thanks but no thanks. Do yourself and your pet a favor and avoid these scam artists.Response to owners response: First of all the very first thing my wife asked about was if you guys offered cutting cat hair! Secondly, I was never told he was only “dry bathed”, whatever that even means. I was only told he wasn’t happy about his bath (which I’m sure most cats aren’t). Otherwise, I never would have paid $90 before walking out. Unfortunately, I trusted that your workers completed the job that I was charged for. I didn’t even take him out of his carrier until I got home. So I don’t know when I would have said I was “happy with his haircut” and even if I were to drive my cat back up there again, I highly doubt he would be happier for a second attempt. Don’t you think the honest thing would have been to say “he wasn’t very happy about his bath, so I’m only charging for his haircut?” I never would have agreed for a “dry bath” pretty sure I could have handled that myself. I don’t know, maybe I’m old school and still believe a little honesty goes a long way. I’ve been bringing my dog to your shop since you were located in Westland, which is why I figured I’d give my cat a try. I surely hope the $35 was worth losing a loyal customer over.

Britt's Bow Wow is fantastic. My dog has always had anxiety going into groomers, but she is always happy to walk in here! The groomers and front desk staff are very friendly, and even make changes to the cut on the spot if you need a quick fix! They also offer teeth cleaning for your dog, too! I'll go here forever!

Walk about Britts Spa a few times when shopping in mall. when passing by I always peak inside. I would see dogs in the window playing. Groomer treated the dogs safety. I walked into make appointment. Riley and I spoke for awhile shop in the store.I booked an appointment for grooming for my 3 year old doodle.Other groomers left head like poodle, one even thought clean feet , might be good idea.Groomer at Brits have a lot experience in doodles. My dog Stuart looked amazing. I never take him anywhere else. I try so many groomers in the area. Every 4 weeks get him a bath , every 8 weeks a haircut. Finally a groomer that will listen and knows doodle cuts and heads

Love this place, my dog has social anxiety and is so much more comfortable there. Abby is the best she has been dealing with Max about 4 years now and I’m so glad she switched to Brits. Thank you for being patience with him. We love Brits ♥️

I have not used their grooming services, but their pet transport communication is honest and greatly appreciated. Other transport companies lied to me to try and secure the job. I was told by others that it is a half year process but Britt's informed me that it is closer to a year! Thank you for informing me that the import permits had heavy delays ....others transport companies left that detail out.

Abby is an exceptional dog groomer! She knows exactly how to groom the dogs! I took my sons setters there, 1 is a Llewelyn the other an English. I asked for a field cut but not completely shaved, she did a PERFECT job! I am taking my 2 Llewelyn setters next week, I can’t wait! I highly recommend Abby as your go to groomer! I love Riley who works at the front desk as well, she is so professional and helpful. So happy I found Britts Bow Wow!

The staff did an excellent job handling Simon, a handful and more of Yorkie. He barked and relieved himself a lot, but the staff was respectfully stern and patient with him.Attached are a few pictures of him once we got into the car. Although you can't see all of him, please know I believe the crew did an excellent job. Hopefully Simon will be welcomed back because we definitely would like to bring him back for his next cut.Thank you, Britt's! 😁

Our puppy has had recent health issues and anxiety. Not only have they been patient with appointment changes due to surgery they went out of their way to be sure she was comfortable today. Rachel cares about my dog and does everything she can to make her feel safe. Love this place!

Recently I took my 8 month old puppy to britts bow wow. First time customer, my mom has been taking our childhood dog for years and never had a problem. I show up to pick up my dog and they told me they had cut his paw pad and they were not sure how it had happened. I get it, accidents happen. But, not knowing how it happened when he’s on your groomer table? We called the owner to get a refund and the owners response was “well… they did groom him”. Very unprofessional.My dog bled for a couple hours after the incident. I’m usually not the person to leave negative reviews but I was very dissatisfied with the way this situation was handled.

Took my husky (Freya) here a few months ago and they did an absolutely amazing job. It was during her shedding time of the year as well. They did such a good job she didn't blow anything for about two weeks which was awesome. She loved the place and the daycare after was very nice. I had her dropped off before work and had her picked up later in the day. Great place highly recommend.

They do an awesome job here! This place is about 20-25 min from my house but I drive there because they do such an amazing job ! I have two dogs . One who is pretty difficult when being groomed ( we think he had a bad experience with a previous groomer ) and another who is just a rambunctious playful puppy who doesnt like the sit still . I don’t know how they do it but they always make them look so good and they seem happy when they leave ( not terrified like other places I have taken one of them before ) . They never complain and always say they would love to see my guys back which is nice to hear also . The place I took my guy before they gave him a score card and said he was a 1 out of 10 and didn’t finish his groom they said they couldn’t work on him . I was afraid to take him anywhere else after that so I was grooming him at home . Meghan and Wanda are the ladies that did them this last time . I believe Meghan also did my guy the time before that too. They even took really cute pictures of them which they shared with me and gave them cute st Patrick’s day bandanas which I love .

I like Diane? The lady at the front desk. I didn't get out of work until 5:00 and she was kind enough to stay behind by about 15 minutes for me. I came in and my dog was sitting on her lap! Not in a cage :) I loved it, but the downfall is groomer turnover. I liked Meghan, then she was gone, then it was a nice younger guy, he left. Other than that they are great!

Update: Funny how reviews don't seem to even make a difference to this establishment. I have received three courtesy calls to make an appointment for my dog. Hmmm? Well, if I haven't returned your call all three times, you may as well remove me from your list. I won't be coming back.I have taken my dog there a total of four times and today came to an end! Every single time I have been there, there has been a new groomer and a new girl at the front desk. Not to mention that every time I have been there, they have never been friendly. Today, I picked up my dog 4 hours after dropping her off. When I showed concern, Emily the groomer, snapped back at me and said "we always tell everyone a minimum of 3 hours!" Funny how this is the first time I hear of this and the longest my dog has ever stayed there was 2.5 hours (which is still too long) This establishment has an absentee owner along with rude people running it. Emily, has a poor attitude and I don't understand why. She doesn't want to be bothered. If you don't like your job, do not work there or just do not work! This place is unaccommodating, and expect you to tip them! Hahaha very funny! Don't you think a $50 grooming for a 12 pound dog is plenty? Or should I say overpriced? Change your attitude and practice professionally especially when customers are contributing to your paycheck! You don't even deserve a one star rating!!! I gave this establishment many chances to shape up. Sad to say my dog gets an ear infection after most visits to this place.

I have been taking my pets to Britts Bow Wow for 20+years. When they changed location, I continued taking my pets to them, even if it meant driving a ways. Was very fortunate to have consistent Groomers for 98% of those years. Then starting in 2020, it has been a constant turnover in their Groomers. While we only have 1 pet now, he is 13 and consistency in a Groomer is very important so as not to make him anxious going to get groomed. I recommend Britts Bow Wow if having the same Groomer is not important to you. They are very caring with your pets and strive to do the best job possible.

Took my dog here for the first time, lady at the front was rude and didn’t even greet my dog, took them four and a half hours to groom him and they shaved him to the skin on his back legs, which turned into hot spots and a vet visit. My dog seemed traumatized and nervous after going and was limping from the hack job. Will never be back.

Loved this place at first but each time I was charged more because she was matted. Ok but next time they based beginning price on that and added more for matting etc. then all I wanted was flea bath no grooming cutting Charged a full grooming charging plus xtra for special shampoo?... plus last cut was so atrocious that people asked what kind of dog she was?.. she a beautiful golden retriever. I understand the groomer was fired but I still paid FULL price for that too. I really want to support town business and be able to love them again
