The staff in this store are so rude to people. The only time I come into the store is when I use the Fed Ex holding location to pick up my packages.Last time I visited the store, there was an elderly man with his caregiver at the counter being checked out. You could tell he had some kind of dementia and the caregiver was helping him out. He bought a few packs of smokes, and the checkout lady asked to see his ID. (The man looked like he was in his 80s) When he finally found his ID, the lady noticed it was expired. She then proceeded to tell him she would no longer sell him cigarettes until he renewed his ID. When the man stated he no longer drove, she continued on about getting a state ID.This man clearly had enough on his plate as it is, and I'm sure it won't be easy for him to get to the SOS to get a state ID. Here is how the rules of ID verification are written:It is illegal to sell, give or furnish tobacco products, vapor products or alternative nicotine products to persons under 21. Age to Ask for ID: Retailers must ask for ID from any person under 30 years (federal law), or appears to be under 27 years old (state law.)She should be ashamed of herself for treating that man the way she did.Have respect for your elders. There was no reason to belittle the man in front of other customers and hold the line up even longer for your own satisfaction. Why you find satisfaction in that I have no clue.This was not the first problem I've had with the staff at this location, and I'm sure it won't be the last.

This is the worst Dollar General I have ever been to! I went to check out and there was not one employee in sight. I finally walked near the hall where I'm assuming the break room was and said hello? (in a very nice tone). A man came to the register and he did not look happy. I stated that I was not trying to interrupt him but I had been standing in line for 5 minutes or so and didn't see anyone. This man literally did not speak. He just stared at me creepily as he was ringing up my items. I let him know that there were four items I purchased that were 50% off and they rang up at full price. Again, not a word. I asked him why he was not speaking to me and asked what was wrong. Again, he would not say a word. After several minutes of awkward silence and him giving me a stare as if he was plotting my death, I asked to speak to the manager and he claimed to be the manager (only words he uttered the entire time). I asked him what his name was and again, no answer. He refused to tell me his name which I found odd. This was without a doubt the most uncomfortable encounter I have ever had with someone in customer service. Another employee walked out at this time and I asked if the man waiting on me was the manager and he said no. I was told there was not a manager working and don't bother making a complaint because the corporate office doesn't care. He also stated that his co-worker doesn't usually talk and does not like speaking to customers. As I left the store I told "John Doe" that I hope he finds peace and to have a wonderful day. I think it's safe to say that working in retail is not a good career choice on his part. Needless to say, I will never go back to this location again. No worries! There’s 172 stores located in a five mile radius anyway.

The staff was really great, until they quit the other day. How god awful is your corporation that an entire store of people walk off the iob? Good on them for standing up to corporate bullies. Time to unionize.

I have found most of the staff to be polite but over the past month i have had a couple of encounters with a man iv been told is the manager. At closing i went to cash out and he harshly told me “WE ARE CLOSED” as if i had snuck in 5 min to closing, And as he rush thru check out knocking some items onto the floor and states to another employee “guess we dont get to leave on time tonight!” He made sure to make me even more uncomfortable by talking about another customer that always comes 5 min before closing. Rude, childish, unprofessional, ungrateful! I remained polite but really should have just walked out!

They're a decent place. Even with what appears to be some high turnover (or maybe rotating staff from other locations?) I've had good treatment pretty much every time I've gone. Store is always clean and organized. Plus they open before 9 am.

They forgot to give me one of my bags. Manager was spending more time telling a customer her story of a trip she took her kids on and how she had to tell 21 yr old to get back on bus!! I called for 45 minutes: no one answered. She said they were busy! There's no one at register and 5 pol max in store. I asked for corporate number; refused to give to me. Told me to go online! Takes me 45 plus minutes to get here and back home. when I walked back in she and coworker were bk bu office talking; helping no one..... but too busy to answer phone! Then told me, I left bag. How bout; you never handed it to me!

I just left here at 11:36am on Wednesday 11/16 feeling very victimized, not thru me directly but thru the older gentleman in front of me who forgot the PIN number to his card. I was waiting patiently behind this gentleman and watched as the clerk, Mike I think his name is, get really irate with this man and started getting really impatient and started cussing at this man IN FRONT OF A LINE OF US CUSTOMERS. I almost left with nothing but needed to get laundry done. I hate coming to this Dollar General in Pinckney. We just moved here not too ong ago, but I NNEVER have had a positive experience with this Mike guy. To make matters worse, I think he's the manager! Last time he Food stamp shamed m. Don't know why I keep going back.

Nice updates, its just a little stuffy in there now.Also wasn't very happy about the way an employee spoke to my 10 year old daughter when my back was turned. I didn't know about it until after we left or I definitely would've spoken to the manager about it. I just feel like if she had an issue about something my child was doing then she should've taken it up with me. Not a 10yo.

Great prices and wide variety of items to chose from. Some items are not the best quality like binders but over all decent quality. You would be surprised if all the stuff they have. All the spices you could ever imagine. Great prices for name brand products like candydrinks other food school supplies and much more. Great store to shop at

Great store, always well kept and stocked. Although I am bummed since covid It's almost impossible to find the cleaning supplies I normally use as well as cold medicine that my mother needs. Otherwise I absolutely love this store.

Keeps getting better. Now they do pickup. Although I do wish their prices were better on some things. I can get some stuff cheaper at walmart or dollar tree. But overall they have pretty much anything you need. One stop shopping

I love this store. They have friendly associates and very hard workers. Jason is an amazing manager and he is always caring and putting the customer first. I'm very satisfied Everytime I go into this store because they are always working as a team and they always are doing there best. I go here just because the manager Jason does a great job running this store.

Hayley is the most friendliest worker. She is also a very hard work and deserves a big raise and to become a manger. Also some of you customers need to be more kinder to all the workers. They shouldn’t have to put up with some of the rudeness and out right mean customers. You guys need to realize they are only doing their jobs and they have feelings too and also they are just trying to provide for their families and should be able to with out being victimized by some of these customers.

Good people working there I go there almost every night on my break from work I've never had a complaint the people I've talked to the workers always seem to be nice & Good Spirits more than helpful I'm they do give cash back so you can take cash out of your account there was a charge for me to do that which I wasn't too happy about but it was cheaper than going to a ATM out of network so it wasn't that bad of a thing I do think it was about a dollar service charge for getting cash back but that's really not that bad always been happy great place they have a wide selection of everything I even was able to buy a belt there when my belt broke while I was at work I never really thought they would actually have a belt but they did so I was really happy

I love this place,it's the only food store in town,like a mini walmart. The staff is very good,Devon will drop whatever he's doing to help you find something,because once you memorize where everything is they reorganize everything,which sucks when I'm in a hurry,the reason for 4 stars

ALWAYS CHECK THE EXPIRATION DATES! On May 20th at around 4pm I went into the store and grabbed 2 half gallons of chocolate milk. I waited in line for 22 minutes because the employees are never around, so the line builds up, then an employee finally shows up but they only open 1 register. I get home and realize my milk expired on May 5th. MAY 5TH!! Spoiled milk sat in their coolers for over 2 weeks! I tried to call 4 times and no one answered. Long story short. Don't bother calling, don't bother shopping between 2-6, and avoid buying expirable products at all costs.

Good place for quick trips. Have just about anything you need in a pinch. It's always fun to visit to see what's new. Good prices. Fairly good selection. For the most part, employees are extremely helpful.

Great staff and environment to shop the only problem I've encountered is there frozen meals, all that I've purchased where not frozen thoroughly so when I'd get the items home I'd have to adjust cook temps and time if you try and freeze these items your food will taste freezer burnt other than that great selection and good prices

Most popular items in the store that are sold are usually out. They usually carry enough stock for one to two days also checking out of this store during peak hours is a nightmare you can consider waiting 10 minutes plus.

Was getting my Awesome fabric freshener n know today he told me it's probably selling out sorry but just as good as Febreze , I like most DG stuff but not there air fabric freshener hopefully he didn't know lol will be disappointed!!

Horrible customer service. Workers stocking in the isles gossiping on there cell phones while I'm trying to go through isles they wont move, lady rolls her eyes like it is a chore to let me through. Line are going through the isles while workers are outside smoking half the time.they never open up more then one cash register. Everytime I go here I regret it.

I love this store. My only complaints would be that there are times that there isn't a cashier and you have to go find them and that the radio is staticy and loud and located right above the headache meds.

I love the Pinckney Dollar General! Hopefully the store gets back on track because it's a great place to shop! The manager is awesome and always helpful!
