I'm not sure if the guy was the owner. I hope not! Asked if any vinyl records or old shellac records. Was told in the small room. Look through those and asked if there was anymore in the store, to which he replied, just the several thousand in the room I was just in. I thought maybe there was another room I had missed, so I asked in that room he said yes, to which I said there's not 1000's in there. To which he replied several hundred. Umm, 2 crates, not several hundred. Guy was being a real jerk for some reason. Don't know if I didn't appear wealthy enough for him to be in his store but left. The only pleasant part was the nice dog. Won't get any business from me ever. Was interested in the marble folder in his case, but his rudness drove me off.

To all of the negative reviews. Stop crying. These folks have a business to run and if you can't control yourself and not break stuff, DON'T COME IN! The dogs are AWESOME and well behaved. There are signs on the front of the building warning you of dogs on the premises. If you don't like dogs, DON'T COME IN!All in all, if you behave yourself you won't have any issues. If you don't, this owner is not afraid to call you out. I had a very pleasent experience here. 5 plus stars.

Beware! The man running the store is not nice at all! Particularly towards kids. There are hazards set up around the store that are intended for you to break and buy. Be careful. Many items are already broken so be careful of that as well. Things are over priced. I'd stay far away from this place.Also I think it's funny to read the owners responses to all of the posts but particularly the negative ones. Classy. Very classy to say the least. Not sure how this place is even in business. I also think it's funny how the owner had their friends go on line to write reviews to defend them. They seem a little forced. Obviously these reviewers never set foot in the same store that my family and I did. And, just to fair, I may not have even deal with the owner. The man didn't identify himself, he just yelled most of the time. I am assuming he was the owner. If not the gentleman working should take a class in customer service and develop his people skills.Update! Everyone please take the time to look at the post from Rachel Rusko from 3 months ago. This is exactly the kind of situation that happened to us. This guy is a criminal.

This store is overly crowded and you can barely walk through the aisles. That wouldn’t be so horrible if the owner wasn’t stalking you to make sure you didn’t break anything because he purposely makes the aisles un-walkable. I found a few things I liked (although overly priced) and was going to buy, however I put them down the second he tried to charge my brother for knocking something over. Because the aisles are so overcrowded, my brother knocked over a firetruck on a table, but did not damage the item. The owner claimed he damaged the table it was on, however there was far extensive damage than what a firetruck could have done. My brother nicely waited the few seconds for the owner to run over where he said “I saw everything on camera” and my brother said what can I do I feel so bad and the owner said “you can pay the $225 for the table.” The owner called us “classy” when we left without paying for the table he “damaged”. Avoid this store at all costs for the psycho owner. We should have read reviews before coming.

Naturally, it takes all types. I've dealt with Mark a few times. Buying from him, and selling to him (on several instances).Owner is respectful- if we can't make a deal, no big deal.Does he come off as abrasive? Yes, sometimes he does, but he's definitely not rude, and doesn't go out of his way to be mean. Very matter-of-factly attitude.I'm sure he deals with all types of people and it gets to him (as it would with anyone).I suggest everyone move forward with grace in dealing with people going forward.The shop is very nice, very well priced for Northern Michigan, and owner is the owner. I enjoy being submerged in the atmosphere of so many antiques and vintage goods in one small place!

Great assortment of unusual items! Local artisan petoskey stone items, vintage jewelry, lots of various rocks/tumbled gemstones/raw gemstones. The owner was very friendly and informative. I enjoyed the wealth of knowledge he had to share about items in the store and the local area. The shop's resident dog is a good boy and excellent shopkeeper. I'll definitely be back!

Skip going to this store. I see all the reviews of how rude the man there is and he absolutely has zero customer service or social skills. I was the person that had the confrontation about his dog to which I asked if the dog was friendly. I’m surprised that happens multiple times a day from your response to another person.

Some people say the man behind the counter is rude but I’ve been going there for awhile and I’ve realized that the guy is just protective over his things which is reasonable. I like to go there and look at their coins. When I asked questions he was helpful and the place has an assortment of lots of things. I like this place. It’s one of my favorites.

My 4 year old daughter and I loved shopping here. The store owner was so kind in taking the time to show her things and explain what things were to her. He was VERY kid friendly. But, my daughter was also very well behaved and knew not to touch extremely expensive, breakable things in the store. I had talked with her before we ever went in about that. I can imagine it is super stressful to see little kids running around unsupervised in an ANTIQUE store. I found the store owner to be very engaging. Even charming. We will definitely be back to shop again next time we are in town.

As one who frequents antique and thrift stores, I unfortunately have to rank this business pretty low on my list. If you stop here, be careful what you purchase - we found several items here that are still in current production and available for far less than their asking price. The staff/owner was rude, not only to myself but to two other customers that I saw (the business owner's responses to reviews by myself and others reinforces this point). There are dogs running loose that, while they seem to be well behaved and friendly, also get in your way frequently and are small enough be a trip hazard. I recommend saving your time and visiting one of the other stores in the area.

I went into the store looking for a lamp I did find one and all I asked the owner to show me if it worked very rude asked me if I was really interested in buying it I said I was he finally helped me love the light not so much the owner

While on vacation we decided to stop into Petoskey Antiques for fun and we are so happy that we did!This store was very clean, organized and had a great selection of antiques. Everything is neatly sorted and priced.Mark was very funny and knowledgeable. He answered all of our questions!His friendly dog Tucker was roaming around the store keeping everything in order!I saw in the reviews some people complaining about being advised not to bring their children into the shop.After shopping today, I can attest that this is NOT a kid friendly environment. There are many breakable, valuable vintage items seeing as it is...you know...an antique store! Calm down people.Anyway! We had a great experience here and we will return every time we vacation go Petoskey :)

Amazing crystals and antiques250 dollars later my fiance and I walked away but I will be back soon and often! BTW the owner was super friendly, super helpful and the most kind person I met. First impression AMAZING. I BOUGHT CRYSTALS AND HE WAS MORE THAN KNOWLEDGABLE...shop on Amazon and get what you pay for...junk. ps I was the one who purchase the round crystal and ring for a stand :)

It smelled like someone had left something in the toilet to rot for years!!! Would not go back. I don’t recommend this to everyone.

I asked a question about an item on the wall and the owner was rude right from the start and wouldn't even go to look at the piece I was talking about. When I described it to him, since he wouldn't even look,, he told me there were 1000's of them and he had bought it brand new. If that's the case it's not even an antique. I had owned a piece like it once and was curious where he found it. He immediately got very defensive. ( So apparently, he "assumed" i thought it belonged to me. ) I had given mine away years ago. It was only an inquiry as to where he may have gotten his, not an accusation. Apparently, he was feeling a bit guilty that day. Most stuff I saw was overpriced, too. Will not be back.

Wonderful Antique Store with a great variety of rare items, many that are rarely seen. Customer service is excellent !!! Great location that is easy to find and hours are great too. This is a must see Antique Store when in Petoskey or in Central / Northern Michigan. Five Stars !!!

Very very very rude owner. Read the rest of the reviews of this place and you’ll see that this is very true. Me and my friend came in, and because we looked to be and were under 30, he was rude and hesitant towards our business, and made it seem like we were just there to steal his stuff. Plus, the items he was selling were VERY OVERPRICED. Not worth the visit, should have never wasted my time. Don’t go here, spend your money some place else, with nice owners, helpful tips, and good prices.

Customer service was extremely poor and items were way overpriced. Owners response to this review was that I have never been in his store and my review is a fake. This is a total lie! I and my daughter were in looking for antique sports banners. We asked some questions and he couldn’t be bothered to look up from whatever he was reading. My daughter had never seen an antique gas pump and asked how it worked. His answer, “It holds gas...”. She said she understood that, but how did they get the gas into it and back out into an antique car. His sarcastic answer? “It holds gas and they put it in a car”. He stillNEVER looked up.We left and will not go back. Google had nothing to do with this review!

We drove a while and Showed up to shop during “normal business hours”Store was closed with a sign that said “be back in 30 minutes, doing a delivery”I’m not going to tell you how to run your business, but, Maybe you should consider doing deliveries before or after “normal business hours” and not wasting who knows how many people’s time driving who knows how long to get here... that is not fair to others, to me, my wife, or to my limited time I have left on this rock we call Earth.That is rude and inconsiderate to others.I have many other places we could have gone, but we chose to spend our time driving here, only to find a locked, closed store.We waited 90 minutes, still not open— what kind of business are you running here?We will take our business elsewhere

I was in Petosky camping we were scheduled to leave yesterday. We decided to stay till today, Monday to shop this antique store since we still had time to make it home as needed.
