My wife and daughters were in your store a few weeks ago. I hadn't read a book in years and the owner and her husband suggested several books based on my interests. One of them was Dark Matter. I ended up buying that book and just finished reading it. It was great! I took photos of the other books and will be checking them out next! Thank you for inspiring me to take up reading again!

One of the greatest, if not the greatest independent book store in Michigan. The selection is amazing and the staff is better than that! They always have a fantastic recommendation for you if you need help with your next read. I'm not kidding with you when I say I plan a stop here into every up-north vacation.

Inviting, amazing, little gem of a shop. But not actually all that little, I didn't even make it downstairs. The kids section was really thoughtfully stocked & a staff member kindly helped my 7 year old find a book that was just right for his level and interest. I've never seen him so gripped by a book actually. I also found the perfect book for a baby gift for a friend & the gift wrapped it beautifully for me.

Outstanding local bookstore. I was half-ready to lower my rating due to display of left-leaning titles, but then I saw plenty of titles by right-side authors as well, so there’s really pretty good balance in the politics, history, and biography sections. Wide selection and a big section for kids’ books, so they’ll all be back in there while you browse.Buy local when you’re able!

I love how big the store is and the wide range of items they offer! You can find manga, board games and puzzles among the books! I always stop in when I am close by or order online when I need my next read.

It's a bookstore. What do you want in a review of a bookstore? They have books. And some other book adjacent stuff. Friendly, helpful staff. They share a building with the coffee shop next-door/upstairs, which is kind of awesome.

Interesting. My husband would give 5 stars, based on our visit yesterday. The male clerk (owner?) fawned over him in the sci-fi-fantasy section with lots of suggestions.However, I was apparently the invisible client. He joked with me about his dog seeking me out, but no suggestions or offer for assistance, despite watching me go around the cookbook sale table several times. I didn't see any other shelves of cookbooks, so I assumed the 20 books were all they had.As husband was checking out, and they were chatting about my husband's excellent choice, I wandered off into a side room and discovered a whole section of cookbooks!Being an invisible client, I didn't take time to find a historical cookbook. I really love cookbooks from a century or two ago, but no one offered to help the invisible client.I'm not sure if I was dealing with misogyny or apathy. Anyway, I will not be shopping here in the future, although my husband loved it.

My family and I love this bookstore! The staff are truly excited about books- I asked about a specific thriller/mystery and immediately had my answer PLUS some extra (awesome) suggestions.Did the owner let me use their bookstore during a scavenger hunt I set up for some young family members? Yes.Is there a dog named Tater Tot that loves to get love from strangers? Yes.Is the staff knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly? Yes.I would absolutely recommend this bookstore to anybody coming to the Petoskey area!

This is my favorite bookstore up here, they are so friendly and helpful! Thanks to the wonderful employees who have recommended some great series, I have fallen back in love with books! My boyfriend and I trek up to Petoskey several times a year and always go to Roast and Toast, then right on over to this lovely book store. At least three times a trip. The staff are always lovely, the selection great and expansive, with a wonderful section featuring staff picks and Michigan local books. This year I believe we had the delight of interacting with one of the owners. He recommended a book at our purchase, and we came back the next day to grab it. We were very successfully profiled for an 80’s based horror novel. My boyfriend finished it in 2 days, a world record for him. He’s never been happier to be profiled and I’m excited to read it next! (We also got to meet TaterTot, a lovely dog that was so cute and friendly.) Overall a wonderful experience and I’m proud to have such a selection of books from their store on my shelf. Already looking forward to coming back in the next few months.

Not only did I walk out with a great read I also added a few new books to my list because of Zach's helpful suggestions! One of the best bookstores ever! We've been looking for a large world map for many moons, they had 5 to chose from. Chess board to play on while shopping their huge selection. Picked up a great book on foraging.

This place is amazing! The staff is so incredibly helpful and eager to chat. My boyfriend and I came in today and couldn,t decided on books, so we asked one of the workers; his name is Zak. He helped figured out what we liked and we just chatted about different books. A super cool bookstore, thanks Zak!

My young daughter and I were visiting the area with my parents and we stopped in "for just a minute." About 45 minutes later, with 6 books between the 4 of us, we marked that as one of our most interesting stops in Petoskey. The selection is extensive, both for adults and children, and the staff was very friendly and engaging. A wonderful spot for gifts as well and parents of budding readers would have fun just hanging out in the kid section.

Quaint and cute with all that you'd want from a small town book store. The atmosphere was perfect. Upstairs they had a good selection of all of the latest books released. Downstairs they had an extended selection to satisfy most readers interests. The staff seemed friendly and knowledgeable. They had one really cool display display downstairs, and in general the place seemed creative and homey. Would definitely recommend this place.
