Location is wonderful, perfect view of the lake from our room. Service was good. Rooms are as clean as they can be for such a old motel. No complaints. However, our room did have a slight musty smell but we were only in there to sleep and shower so no big deal to us personally. Would stay there again. Also pet friendly AND we were able to see the northern lights from the yard!

This is a great mom n pop motel! The rooms are clean and welcoming. Being able to be right on the lake, a campfire and the amazing view of the stars sets it all off. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. The bad reviews threw me off. Anytime you're on the water there will be an odor from the moisture.Definitely give this place the green light.

Great experience. Staff awesome. The ladies were great & Andrew was helpful & we had great conversations with him the 2 diff times in 1 week we were there during last week of May & first part of June, 2023. We got same room ea time on back part looking at the Superior of one of our Great Lakes!!We appreciate everyones hard work that goes into maintaining the hotel. 2nd time we went back we were remembered & very welcomed. Thank you for being a great, friendly, comforting & cute place to stay the night along the way.A+++ from Lori & Robert.Nearby activities: Lighthouse trips to White Fish Bay & Iriquois were spectacular. Theres the Shipwreck Museum & the most beautiful shoreline rocks I've ever seen in Michigan. I accidentally came home with an insane amount cuz Lake Superior Rocks It!! Alot of bug spray needed this particular time of year in June, worth the annoyance though. Thank you Paradise MI.I love you♡

Very nice located, large rooms and with access to the lake shore which is eroding and therefore rather small. This Motel is privately run for decades - a time capsule surviving from past years. Very authentic building from 50ies 60ies era. It is not modern standard, no key cards, no separate shower but this is makes the charming atmosphere. Rooms would need some investment, are at least now with an up to date TV.Pricing is reasonable and it is a calm place to relax. Best to visit if you have a 50ies or 60ies car - or even the ideal place for meeting other petrolheads.BBQ places are on the shoreside, a good place for the whole family. Get your steaks in the shop on the other side of the road ... or try whitefish from one of the two foodtrucks.Walkability: 2 general stores2 gas stations1 garage2 food trucks2 restaurantsseveral smaller businesses / clothes boutique, souvenir shop.

We stayed there last year. It was clean and older which was fine. The problem was the bed I slept in. It must have been as old as the cabin. There is no excuse for a bed this uncomfortable. The other problem was the refrigerator quit working. I understand things happen. They said it would be a couple of days before anything could be done so we put all the food in our coolers. They wouldn’t give us any ice but they would sell some to us. They aren’t very friendly. Never again

We were hesitant to stay here based on the reviews. But SO glad we did! We stayed in cabin #2 and it was awesome! Yes, it’s rustic but the Lake Superior view is one of a kind! We had a little deck and a fire ring and built a fire to enjoy the beautiful view. There is a nice large gas fireplace inside with a very large flat-screen tv with cable (so my husband could watch the NFL on Sunday). It was clean and perfect! There are two big bay windows inside facing Lake Superior and a nice shower/ bathroom (modern walk-in shower). The Kitchen is absolutely functional too. So easy to keep warm and enjoy the view in late October. I was also shocked the leaves were beautiful and peak around the shoreline! Temperate climate with the lake….. we will stay there again and we hope you enjoy it as much as us! (yes the office does smell but the cabin does not). I was concerned about the reviews but loved it! Give it a chance if you are truly there for the beauty of the UP.

This place is AWESOME!! My family and I pulled in due to car trouble and we needed someplace to lodge my fiance, myself, and our 6 children to figure out how to handle the vehicle situation. The owner Linda was amazing she called her son who is one of the maintenance guys here to look at my vehicle. The next day me her son and his Co worker got under it and did what we could. Still not perfect but the problem is fixed enough to get home. They even called a local mechanic to take a look. That's NOT mentioning the cabins are well kept. The view of Lake Superior from them is easy to get lost just staring off into Canada. Prices were acceptable per night. Kids had a blast me and my fiance love it here!! Sad to be going home but may definitely be planning to come back in the future. Seagulls are a little annoying when your cooking on the grill or in the fire ring but the cabins also come with a full kitchen a bathroom and two bedrooms.

For over $100 a night they could have a clean bathroom , shower curtain was gross , shower head peed on you , the bathroom floor was dirty NO HAIR DRYER ! Made me feel yucky . The bedroom part was very old and dated . Bedspread and sheets were probably from the 70's .Would not recommend . I mean ... For $100 !!!

The location and view from our room was fantastic. Parking was right outside our door. All we had to do is step outside our room and there was the water, and Canada on the other side. The woman at the desk was friendly and prompt and loved my granddaughter. This is not a hotel chain so you don't get the fancy extra stuff. However, if you enjoy being off the beaten path and don't mind a few friendly small spiders this place to cozy and spacious and soooo quiet.

Great location to Whitefish Point and Taquamenon Falls. Room was clean. Extremely outdated but if you like a retro vibe it definitely has it. Room was spacious. Bathroom was small. It had two door access. 1 from sleeping area and 1 from dinette. Shower head needs an update. Has wifi and internet tv. Spacious parking.I wouldn't discourage anyone from staying here. I have nothing bad to say about this place. The beds were comfortable, pillows were great and the towels were thick and fluffy. Has a flat-screen tv.

They told us the room would be was being cleaned so we went out to eat came back an hour later. It was like they never touched it. Floor was never cleaned, room door all broken at the bottom, horrible smell, windows have not been cleaned in years. Thought since it was in the lake would be nice, very disappointing. Cheap and dirty. Not worth it. We left and getting a refund

The room looked like it hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned in quite some time. There was dust on all the furniture and the floor was dirty and looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in a while. Also there was no AC, they had two small fans for us. Definitely not worth the price paid for the room, especially with no AC in the middle of the summer. The only positive thing about the place was the view of the lake. But the fire pit was littered with beer cans. Definitely will not be staying here again.

Loved this Motel! It was quaint and clean with a view of Lake Superior. It was a perfect location for our rockhounding trip. 10 minutes from Whitefish Point. 45 minutes from Crisp Point Lighthouse and the mouth of the Two Hearted River. I loved chatting with the nice lady in the office. We'll be going back real soon!

We've stayed in the cabin there and I love the view of the lake and the private kitchen and everything! But the smell in the cabin does get a little funky. Kinda smelled like fishy or old water, but overall decent.

This would have been a great deal had they put me in the cabin that I reserved. Instead, cabins were full, and they put me in a small room, with no fridge. Office smelled very strongly of cat urine. My room smelled okay the first night because of their deodorizing spray. The next day, I could smell mold. Checkout is at 11, but housekeeping started knocking on doors at 9am, both days that I was there. The only good thing was the alarm clock with USB ports. They are pet friendly.

I wouldn't recommend staying here. When I pulled back the sheets, there was dried blood and hair on them. We went to the desk and talked to the owner about it. She said she would come take a look. She didn't. Instead she sent a housekeeper to change the sheets. I told him I wasn't satisfied with that as a resolution. He looked at the sheets, and I asked him if he thought they had been changed. He said that it was just him and one other housekeeper and they were really busy so sometimes they didn't change the sheets if the beds looked okay. I went back to the office to talk to the owner. I told her that her employee admitted they don't always change the sheets. She said he was wrong about it. I asked her if he was one of the housekeepers, and she said yes, and that he and one other person worked together on the rooms. I then told her again that he said they weren't getting changed and had no reason to lie, and either way, these sheets didn't get changed. I told her we would not be staying and that I wanted a refund or I would dispute the charge. She grabbed the room key and told us to leave. Also, the room smelled. The soap wrapper was dirty and the soap inside had broken and turned powdery. There was visible dirt on the carpet. The carpet was torn. There was a visible layer of dust of things in the room. And I wasn't even gonna leave a negative review for those things. But don't change the sheets, lie to me about it, refuse to take ANY steps to make it right then kick me out with no place to stay in the middle of nowhere during tourist season with my four year old kid?

The property is right on lake Superior; be sure to ask for a room facing the lake. Bring an air freshener. Buildings are clearly aging but usable for a night. Bathroom was in rough shape but the beds were nice and clean. Nice choice for a place to sleep.

The view was unbeatable! The rooms were totally outdated and had a certain smell to them. There was a hole/tear in the carpet in the middle of the room from wear and tear, carpet probably 20 years old. Bathroom was pretty shaky also. I stayed there in late September of 2020. I would not recommend staying there unless you bring a can of Lysol to spray the bedding.

Nice, clean, "up north" cabin right on Lake Superior. Stayed in cabin #2. Up north means it is a hodgepodge decor and different eras of improvements. Location location location. Water views from fully stocked and functional kitchen and living room, access to very small sandy beach, nice deck to sit on and watch sunrise. Close to Tahquameno Falls, Whitefish lighthouse and museum, plenty of beach access points in area, gas station and restaurant close to cabin. Two bedrooms, one had 2 beds. Clean linens, comfortable beds. Dog friendly!! Great shower with warm/hot water. Found "yooperlites" near by, enjoyed our stay and will return.
