We took our 4 year old cat to Downtown Hound to get help with areas of his fur that had matted. It was his first grooming visit, and historically he hates at home combing and nail trims. Downtown Hound stated they would work with our boy, and only go as far as he would tolerate for his first visit. Less than an hour after dropping him off, we were told our handsome guy was all combed out and trimmed up. They truly worked miracles and helped our guy to feel and look his best at his first grooming visit.

I take my Aussie here for her grooming and we NEVER leave satisfied… we leave HAPPY We leave with my Kenley having been pampered and spoiled, and myself being happy knowing my pet was CARED for, treated beyond properly, catered to for her specific needs to feel safe and welcome. I also see how the other dogs are treated while I am there and it brings me so much peace knowing when I’m not there, she will still be handled with love and care. I truly can’t say enough about this amazing business and wish they groomed two legged kids too 🤣

First time taking our fur baby to Downtown Hound. She is a Covid baby and is not very social. The ladies at Downtown Hound were very understanding and were very patient with our pup. Would highly recommend them. Have been to three other places in the Owosso area and have been very disappointed with all three. Thank you, Downtown Hound!

Doesn't provide the services paid for.Dog is now on antibiotics because they didn't do what they said they did and the vet had to do it; there is now an infection.Plus they came back smelling the same as they did before they left, didn't even freaking bathe them (first red flag).

I adopted a Labradoodle puppy in May. I have never had a dog that required grooming. But this one is very high maintenance. I found Downtown Hound had a puppy prep program. You take your pup in every 2 weeks to get them accustomed to the groomer. I did this until my pup was 6 months old. She absolutely loves going there and loves all the groomers. Phoenix can be a handful but seems to do great while there. She had her first full groom a couple weeks ago which included a bath and cut. I was nervous how she would look just because she is my baby. I know they do amazing jobs but it was that first time jitters. When I went to pick her up I absolutely LOVED how they cut her! They listened to how I wanted her and did exactly what I wanted. Thank you Downtown Hound! We will be back every 3 weeks for our baths and then grooms/cuts!

Our two Aussiedoodles are always treated with the best care of the groomers here! Great price for a quality groom. Groomers who are cheerful on the phone & in person - you can tell they love what they do. Kindly provide accomodations that we ask for. You've got two regular pup-stomers! Love you guys!

Stay away. Volume of vacuuming system read 128 decibels on my meter at the front desk. That is like taking your dog to a rock concert. The groomer was wearing hearing protection!!!!!!!! Imagine what that is doing to your dogs ears!!!!! Keep your dogs away!!!! I am reporting to ASPCA for animal cruelty and other organizations. To the employees, if you develop constant ringing in your ears and/or hearing loss, seek an audiologist than a lawyer if your employer does not remedy the situation. I can only imagine what the torture must be like for the poor animals to suffer from this noise. It is comparable to being on the tarmac in Afghanistan to board a C17 with the engines running. Completely unacceptable. Shame on all of you at Downtown Hounds.

Brought our husky in for her first time and they did a wonderful job. They greeted her by name right when we walked in. The place is pretty clean even with all the hair from dogs! The staff was patient with her and when we picked her up she looked beautiful. They found a couple spots that weren't normal and took pictures and brought them to our attention. I feel like they went above and beyond taking care of our baby. We will for sure be back and would strongly recommend them.

Love them they are great with our dog Rocky Road , and he loves going there also. They also do a puppy prepping so they get used to getting groomed he just finished his last puppy prepping. But I also would recommend if you have a pup that would need grooming to check them out since not all groomers do not offer puppy prepping and have seen and worked with dogs that fear going to the groomers. Even though I take my pup to them he is so happy to go in he looses his mind and you would think he hasn't had a bit of training lol . Thank you to all the groomers that you have in your business you are all great at what you do with the family members you groom

!!!MONEY GRAB!!! Had an appointment scheduled and my fiancé had to stay late at work and couldn’t bring him so he called to reschedule and they tried charging him a CANCELLATION fee even though he rescheduled for later in the week. The cancellation fee is DOUBLE THE SERVICE. So if your groom is $50 you will be charged $100 for rescheduling. Their excuse is they are commission. So are hair stylists and tattoo artists and I’ve never even heard of charging double a service for rescheduling. This was going to be our first time there and they lost a customer as we will never bring any animals there. So instead of having our money for a service and giving some leniency the first time they tried to charge double and lost all of our money. Smart move good luck staying in business with rude staff and absolutely ridiculous policies.

My dogs have always LOVED going to see the girls who work there! I love the way they work with all of the dogs to make them comfortable. When one of our dogs was a puppy, she was a wild child when put on the table. They suggested that we take her in every two weeks for a period of time, no charge, so that she could get used to everything. It didn’t take long for her to do well on the tables. Now the worse that happens with both of our dogs is that they lick the ladies’ faces and maybe smack them with their wagging tails. These women are the best!

These Wonderful Ladies got Our Dog right in the same day I called! We were worried about taking Him to any place because He has had a traumatic experience., and He is a big boy. We were in awe at how great they we're with Him, the appointment went so smooth and great! They are true animal whisperer's. They stayed a little late for Us too, so We could come after work. So glad Our Vet, and 2 other Vets in Owosso recommend them, they we're right, We would be happy going to Downtown Hound. Price was very good too. Definitely will continue to be client from now on.

My large coonhound is a sweetie, until you try to go near his paws. At that point he is 115 pounds of snapping with intent! Vets have muzzled him but Downtown Hounds preferred a lower stress approach despite my warnings. They were right! It took one person to keep his big body on the table, one to groom (really love that they use the dremel vs clippers), and another to distract with treats. That is dedication to help a pet feel safe! And of course the trims were excellent!!

Took my 16 yr old dachshund in for her first visit and they did a wonderful job. The cost was very reasonable. Sushea didn't seem stressed at all. The groomer (can't remember her name) said all Sushea wanted to do was snuggle.Thanks ladies. We will be back.
