The manager of this store #11098 is very rude and disrespectful. As we were going to cash out the main register was closed and the two self check out registers were ac occupied by two older gentleman and were having a hard time using the self checkout so the one older gentleman asked for some help and this so called manager gets a huge attitude and Tell's the older guy to get out of his store. The manager is very noticeable as he is a gay gentlemen. He lost not only the elderly gentleman's business but also mine and the lady's business there. We will no longer shop there and let everyone in this small town know how it's being ran. Again this happened at store #11098 in ovid Michigan just before 12:03pm on 11-26-2023. He should be fired for his disrespectful manner.

The store smells like mildew. Though they do try to mask it with cheap smelling air fresheners. You know the kind that make your nose burn. They very rarely have more then one employee working and that one employee will often leave you standing at the register for several minutes as they seem to think that you have the time to wait while they stock an entire pallet. The worst part of this Dollar General seems to be the same problem as all dollar generals stores and that’s to be sure you watch the prices on the register cause it will often be different then what the item is listed as. Bottom line is the folks at corporate running DG are straight thieves and they seem to have no problem teaching they front line workers that it’s ok to steal from customers cause the store workers rarely try to do the right thing. I truly believe the government should step in and shut DG down for unethical practices

Went in and was going to buy batteries and they werr3 on the wrong peg hook and the price was wrong and they wouldn't honor the wrong price which was marked wrong so I called corporate and the district manager

They've always had what I needed. I appreciate that they're open late too for a small town. The reason for a 4 star is their coolers aren't always working so the cold or frozen food can't be trusted. Which is frustrating when you want to pick up a frozen pizza etc.

Very clean and neat. The only dollar general I've been too that actually takes pride in the way their store looks. They don't deserve anything less than a 5. Everytime I go in there they are always working hard. You can tell they stay busy and can still stay clean!

The store in Ovid Michigan is the worst experience I have ever had. I bought a CD for my grandchildren to watch while camping. It didn't work. Took back the very next day..they did not want to return or exchange the 4.95 I had paid as I had thrown out the outer wrapper...although it only said the price on it...nothing else. I had the receipt and CD that I presented yo them. They finally returned money...as both of were by then very angry. I should have taken money and run but oh no, I bought a new CD for 4.95 and another one for 7.99. The less expensive again did not work and the 7.95 was overcharged by ringing up at 9.99. I returned again the very next day, same two clerks...with nonworking CD and wrapper and wrapper for the overcharged CD plus receipt...they absolutely refused to refund money as I didn't have the CD with me. I walked out angry and less 2.00. I will not ever enter a dollar General store. I will eat the 2.00...i don't like to argue in stores and hate to return things...there are too many other stores around that treat their customers with dignity and respect.

Manager will not do returns... Even with receipt & a defective item. Called Corp. & Had to go to another store to returnThat kind manager said lots of people come from the St.Johns store because of the same issue. Won't do returns for people. Not right. I spend a lot of money there to avoid another trip to the big store.... Manager usually in her car smoking cigarettes. She needs retraining badly.

For a tiny town this place was packed, was on a time limit and almost didn't make it because only one register open with a long line, while two other employees where in the office! Besides that the person at the register was nice even under stress!

Out of stock on everything that I wanted to purchase have to ask for key to use the restroom small town you would think the bathrooms would be unlocked the cashier you made me wait while a customer ran all the way to the back to get a different bottle of laundry soap because it didn't match your coupons and then the next bottle the customer front of me brought up wasn't the right one either the cashier could have suspended the order and ring me and the other guy behind me up they have the smallest clothing selection of any of the other Dollar Generals I've ever been in would not go back there personally is my opinion

Terrible, go anywhere else if your doing any type of shopping. Not sure why anyone would go here unless you're in a very serious pinch and need something immediately. However, everything there you should not want, or need. its extremely over priced hot garbage.

The register people are never at the register. Either working on another part of the store or hanging out in the office. I swear if I were dishonest I could probably go shopping there for free almost every time. Good prices though.

Store is very cluttered and I cannot get anywhere in my wheelchair without moving a TON of stuff... major dislike the whole store should be handicapped accessible and not cluttered!

Whenever I go in, I come out with everything I needed .They have everything there so there's no need to go anywhere else. Plus my billfold still has money in it because of their reasonable prices.

This is a great store but it’s not near as big as some of the other dollar generals. They did not have sidewalk salt for the ice.

They have some deals on different items, but if more than a few cars in the lot, one can expect to wait in line for a bit. Only one checking folks out, while another sits in the office.
