This was the first time our dog had been to a boarding facility and we were very nervous about leaving him. While we were gone, we enjoyed looking at the pictures posted on social media so we could see how much fun he was having. It was easy for me to call and pay over the phone so we could have someone else pick him up. The bath on the day of pick up was so nice! Can't say enough good things about our experience. Thank you!

[UPDATE from 3 to 4 stars because the owner cared enough to call me & discuss this review.]I utilized the kennel boarding services of My Best Friend's Inn 2 times with very different experiences.1st Visit = 5 StarsDec 2016 (2 dogs/2 weeks)2nd Visit = 1 StarJuly 2023 (2 dogs/3 days)Combined review = 3 StarsDEC 2016: Communication, scheduling, drop-off, and pick-up were ALL GREAT! I was told exactly what was required & had no issues. BONUS: I viewed frequent photos on their social media of my dogs playing throughout their stay. This was an awesome way to see how well the dogs were. BONUS: At pickup, I was pleasantly surprised that both dogs were bathed and didn't have the dreaded "kennel odor." The rate was fair, and the service was excellent!JUL 2023: I called to book with My Bestfriends Inn but initially had to leave a message. Assuming kennels probably have only one staff per shift, I figured they'd return my call when they weren't busy with a customer/animal. But after some time had passed, I eventually called again & reached a staff member who discussed & booked the reservation. A few hours later, I received a return call to again book a reservation, but I reminded her that we had already spoke, and instead I took this opportunity to ask if they'd received our vaccination records yet & if we were all set.During our initial chat, I explained that I hadn't boarded there in 7 yrs and didn't remember any process/requirements. But instead of her telling me the info, I was having to ask for and pull out from her what I thought I needed to know. Instead of telling me what vacc were required, I had to ask "what vacc do you require"? Instead of telling me how meals worked, I had to ask "can I bring their food?", "can I bring a toy, a bed, etc"? It was a little red flag to not clearly be informed, but I just assumed the employee was young or shy on the phone. Despite this, I still assumed the staff would surely communicate any "important" items with me.So I was appreciative when staff called the day before to inform me that my vet still hadn't sent the vacc records. I felt supported in my belief that the kennel was making sure I had everything necessary for my pets' stay. In my last call with the kennel staff, we confirmed the vacc records were finally received and that both dogs were cleared and ready for the next day's drop-off.We arrived by 7 a.m. (during 6-10am dropoff window), as that 1st day was filled with travel & scheduled activities for our short trip. Everything seemed fine until she asked me for the required 'Negative Fecal Test Results'.WHAT?! I had never heard of this!A negative fecal test (done just prior to boarding) proves the dog has no internal parasites, but having never been informed, ours wasn't done. This error jeopardized our entire trip. I attempted to problem solve while the employee contacted the owner for assistance, but I was eventually told that the dogs could not stay without it.Feeling frustrated about this news, I left to spend most of our trips 1st day working to get the tests done. It would have been so simple to inform me about the required fecal tests in any of the many chats we had that week. I was making sure the required vaccines were done, I could have easily had the fecal tests also done. We lost a full day off the 3 day trip & when I picked them up at the scheduled date/time (I even called an hour prior), neither dog had been bathed. She said the dogs didn't want baths, and they weren't there long enough to get dirty anyway. 😞Sadly, I was very displeased with the customer service this time.

We had never boarded our dogs before so we were nervous about choosing a place. However My Best Friends Inn put our mind at ease. They were cool with us stopping by to check the place out and did a trial run with our dogs before our actual boarded. Pics were posted to Facebook so we could check on the pups and they were as happy as could be when we picked them up. Would highly recommend this place and we will definitely be using them in the future for our boarding needs.

Love this place for Arthur! Affordable, clean, and I sincerely appreciate that the owners are just next door. This is my preferred place for Arthur but they do get very busy and getting a reservation is sometimes a hit or miss so book early to get your spots! Overall, Arthur is safe and I appreciate that they bathe him before he leaves from his longer overnight stays :) I've referred friends here, and will continue to do so!Only thing to be careful is that the last time my arthur was here, he came home with some chipped teeth :( not sure what he got into, but I will be asking that they keep all hard toys away from him during his stays in the future...

We recently boarded our dogs at MBFI for a week. We were extremely pleased with their attention to detail - double checking with us about our dog’s medication and food. Both dogs came home looking happy and healthy (and received a bath!). We highly recommend MBFI and will definitely be boarding with them again.

MBFI has always been amazing. I could drop my handicapable good boy off before work, and know he was in good hands.Great hours and pricing. If we didn’t move away from the area, we would still be using doggy daycare and boarding services.They are wonderful and super accommodating.

My dogs love it here. Theyre always worn out when i pick them up. You can tell all the staff really are passionate about dogs and they do pay attention. I've been taking dogs here since 2017 and I refuse to take my dogs anywhere else. My shy coonhound suddenly becomes excited and energetic when we pull in the parking lot here.

Our dog has been coming to MBFI for a couple months now and she is SO happy everytime we drop her off. Our dog can be iffy with new people and she fell in love with the staff really quick, especially James. She never comes home dirty which we have experienced in other places. We would highly recommend dropping your dogs off here!

We have been taking our dog here for years. I trust them with our dog more than we trust our own friends and family.Their prices have always been more than reasonable and they care for your dogs like they were their own. I cannot say enough positive things about this place.They have almost always been able to accommodate us in a pinch or during emergencies that have come up. It's also worth mentioning that this is the only place of business we can take our dog where she doesn't even mind when we leave!

My dogs are always excited to arrive and totally exhausted when they leave. We have mouthy dogs with big personalities and MBFI always makes sure they accommodate all of their needs so that they have a comfortable time. I really appreciate that they are always available by text to ease my anxiety and about my babies being away!

My dog loves it here. They are so nice and willing to work with all her anxiety issues. My only complaint is they never answer the phone. I can call anytime of day and 80% of the time they won't answer. Other then that its a wonderful place to board your dog.

My wife and I dropped off our yorkie, Clara, and she had a wonderful time. We were a bit worried with the impending polar vortex, but the staff took extreme care of her, and she was happy and healthy when we returned from our trip. I highly recommend MBFI for anyone who has a pet and needs to know that they're being treated well. She was clean and freshly washed and groomed when we picked her up. Excellent experience!

Love this place! They take great care if my dog. The owner, Mike, has installed a UV shield to make it cooler for the dogs while they play outside. Very flexible drop off/pick up times. My dog always gets a bath before pick up, and Mike even washes my dog's bedding before pick up. If you follow on Facebook, you get updates and pictures. Mike is very strict on vaccinations and fecal tests, which keeps all dogs safe. In response to the negative review about kennel cough, Mike is currently working with a local vet to get tests done to figure out what strain is going around. He is very detailed and I feel my dog is very well taken care of here.

I am so happy we decided to go with My Best Friend's Inn for our dog! They were so great to work with and put my mind at ease during his first week without us. The offer you the option of texting them for updates and they replied within 2 hours each time. Our dog is Pit Bull, Husky mix and it was awesome that they didn't have any breed restrictions. Unfortunately, my husband and I bought a house too far away to use their doggy daycare but we will, without a doubt, use them for vacations or weekends away when we can't bring him :)

When we were unsure of how our older dog would do being boarded for an upcoming vacation, the owner of MBFI let us bring her by for a trial day of doggy day care to see how well she did, which was absolutely awesome of them. Since them, we've boarded her and our other dogs with them multiple times.Love that our dogs get to spend as much time as they want inside or outside. They always come home exhausted, and need a day or two of rest from their vacations!

We have been driving from elkhart indiana for years to let our dogs stay here. My best friends inn is in a league of its own. We love that the owners live on the property, and our dogs never want to leave. No added fees for play time, and they even give your dogs a bath if you let them know 2 hours before you get there to pick them up. Now, stop reading this review and go book your reservations. They fill up quick.

Absolutely great pet care. My dog is always taken care of well when she's here, and I appreciate the flexible hours for my job. She's excited to see the staff and sleeps all night after. The staff all seem to love working with the pets, and have always been pleasant to work with :)

Mike and his crew are the absolute best! They truly care for each and every fur baby that comes through their door. They understand our pets are family members and treat them as such. I took my 11 month old puppy Hank to My Best Friends Inn and it was the worst daycare/kennel facility I've ever been to. I was under the impression (per their website) that Hank and all the other dogs would be outside most of the day with the exception of meal times and bed time. Besides being recommended by a friend, that was a huge reason why I took him here instead of his normal daycare because Hank tends to try to escape cages. Upon arrival to pick Hank up from his visit, staff member A brought him to me. I looked down to greet my baby and his entire back end, back leg, and chin was covered in feces. After I mentioned something to her, she offered to give him a bath (which was just a quick rinse down that didn't get rid of the waste smell at all). We got outside to get in the car and he immediately squatted to pee and went for about a full minute and a half which is very unlike my puppy. Not even out of the neighborhood the facility is in, Hank was whining uncontrollably so I pulled over and let him out where he found the nearest spot to go #2 (full blown diarrhea which is very unlike him as well). As I put him back into the car, I notice that his snout is swollen very badly and he has tears or raw edges on it as well as a larger sized puncture in his right hind leg. Hank had been to daycare well over 100 times and goes on a regular weekly basis and he has never once come home with play wounds this bad. I called to ask about all this and the response I got was "he was fine today but I'll leave a note for the staff tomorrow to see if anything happened the day prior". Staff member A then told me that the dogs are let out in groups for a 1/2 hour while they rotate and there is potentially multiple groups leaving the dogs in a kennel for an hour or longer at a time. She also tried to tell me that the feces caked on his back end was just mud. Mud does NOT smell that bad. If Hank was playing that rough with another dog and the other dog bit him, he WOULD have made a very loud noise considering the size of his wound. Why didn't a staff member address the situation and notify each dogs parents? Why was my dog allowed to have feces stuck to him long enough for it to dry? I will NOT be returning or recommending this place to anyone!

Great place to board your dogs. They attend to them individually even in group settings. Keep good behavioral records and work to establish a long term relationship with their human customers, too.

My pups are always happy and tired after getting home! Place us staffed with knowledge and compassionate people. I also love that they have group playtime included in their stay.
