I’ve dined here every time I am in northern Michigan over the last 20+ years and it has never disappointed. The food is amazing, especially the whitefish and I ALWAYS save room for dessert.Make reservations far in advance if you want to sit on the porch.

My husband and I stopped by the Glenwood for dinner tonight and it was an amazing experience to say the least! The food, atmosphere and service was top notch and we would recommend to anyone looking for a five star meal!! My husband got the chicken carbonara which was seasoned perfectly and I got the blue cheese filet which was prepared excellently. We finished off with frozen key lime pie, better than you can find in the Florida keys! It was an outstanding experience, absolutely flawless! From the second we were seated to the minute we got up we couldn’t stop talking about how truly quality this restaurant is!

Excellent choice for a nice dinner. The food was perfectly prepared. Great presentation. We had crab cakes, a crisp salad, Halibut and a couple of the amazing desserts.The service was spectacular. Fast, friendly and knowledgeable. They manage every detail. Highly recommend this one.

The Glenwood was such a Beautiful dinning experience!!!! Our Waitress, Kassie was spot on with EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Our meals, The Halibut and White Fish were cooked to perfection!!! The White Sangria made with a fresh peach, excellent!!! The Deserts were Pure Perfection as well!!! We HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE GLENWOOD for TOP NOTCH EXCELLENCE!!!!❤️

We have been dining at this quaint restaurant for years and they usually don’t disappoint but this time we had reservations on the porch for my birthday which I made a month in advance and when we arrived they told us they gave our reservation away cuz we were 13 minutes late. The discrepancy was I had a 4:30 reservation and they said it was 4:00 so in our minds we were early and the hostess was not very apologetic but did seat us inside. Our server Sarah was great and the dessert tray is to die for. We’ll see if we ever go back?

Always great food and service. Went there after my best friends wedding two weekends ago and it was as good as ever. My wife and I try to make a habit of celebrating our anniversary here every year. The almond shrimp are the best!Kid-friendliness: Kids menu is good and reasonably priced.

Service... outstanding. Prime location. Charming dinner home. Reservations.. recommended. Extensive wine list and dessert drinks. Wedge salad with home made blue cheese dressing is most awesome and huge. The Ravioli, wonderful. Beautiful presentations. Don't miss out on dessert. The chocolate oatmeal brownie with ice cream and hot fudge is to die for!

Great food and amazing service. Even if its chilly there are heaters on the patio and nothing beats "dinner on the deck". The almond shrimp are a must-order! This place is ALWAYS busy so I'd call ahead for reservations, especially on weekends.Parking: This place is always busy so if your bringing a group ride together or parking is tight.

As a chef spending $300 dollars on dinner for my parents 50th anniversary I was extremely disappointed. Crab cakes tasted like frozen cakes, nothing homemade. Mussels were so salty, should have added some white wine, the steak was very fatty. And my mother in law ordered something with noodles and they were from a box and her dish looked disgusting. And to top it off you had as many dessert as you did on the menu. Thank god you redeem yourself with a good desert. Find a new chef .

I dined with a group of friends, and we all were VERY pleased with the drinks, appetizers, salads and desserts. Unfortunately, some of the entrees were not as outstanding as everything else, otherwise I would have given 5 stars. For example, my cucumber salmon was a bit overcooked and dry, and one of my friends was disappointed with the bleu cheese tenderloin tips. Said the meat was sparse and not very tender, and the bleu cheese cream sauce was rather bland. Another friend had some sort of beef dish (sorry, I can't remember exactly what it was), and he remarked afterward that it was okay, but not great because it was not as tender as he was expecting. So overall, none of those entrees were bad enough to send back, just not as good as we hoped they would be. But to be fair, the other four in our group did enjoy their entrees very much. Also on the plus side, our server was absolutely wonderful, and took great care of us. No small feat for a large group. So I will be back, and hope for better luck with the entrees next time.

Made reservations weeks ago for 2 for our anniversary. We had to drive quite a distance and heard what a nice place it is. Last minute we brought our 5 yo girl. When we arrived, the hostess said there was nothing she would do, Reservations for 2 are reservations for 2. We won't be returning. It's really a shame there is poor customer service like this around.

Wonderful. Top notch every time! Waitress was super friendly, food was delicious. The building is really interesting and historical. Really neat view of lake. No complaints here.Kid-friendliness: They give a bowl of goldfish to start the kids off and this is genius. Good menu for them too.

Love the atmosphere and the service! We have been coming here for years and the experience is always great. If you can, sit on the porch. Rain or shine it is always a beautiful view. We had the short ribs and the tuna this time (both were great). Do not leave without getting a dessert. They are made in house and are delicious!

I told my wife while we were finishing up dessert that Google was going to ask me to rate it, and I didn't think five stars was enough. The food was some of the best I've ever eaten, and the service was absolutely top notch. We shared a bottle of wine, had a couple appetizers, entrees, and desserts. Still less expensive than a trip to Morton's, but far better in my view. Will absolutely be back when we come up this way again. If you're in the area, and not dining on a budget, get a reservation and have dinner. You will not be disappointed.

The Glenwood really has it ALL together! From the hostess to our wonderful waitress Chloe, our experience was wonderful. Chloe was personable, attentive and very knowledgeable on the menu. The food was excellent, and appropriately priced for the quality. No words for the dessert display!! Seriously amazing. This establishment deserves nothing but 5 stars all around, would absolutely recommend.

Took my husband for a birthday dinner..service and selection excellent. Food delicious. It was a relaxing, enjoyable time. Bill more than we usually pay, but had appetizer, bottle of wine, coffee, dessert, so actually worth it. Everything was delicious.

We had our anniversary dinner there last night and it was a great experience. We both had fish dinners that were delicious. Our server Carrie was very attentive. We highly recommend this place.
