We recently purchased a house in McMillan, so we have been spending lots of time at Fosters Ace Hardware. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Last night at about 5:40 the water line broke at the house, so we had to get to hardware quickly knowing the close at 6:00. My son called the hardware and asked if they could stay open just for a few extra minutes that his father was on the way there and he explained the situation. They did. What an amazing place. We can not thank you enough. We appreciate your kindness and willingness to help us out. Thank you again.

This place is the text book definition of a friendly small town hardware store. The ONLY possible complaint is sometimes I wish they would open the 2nd register. Even that is probably just me in a hurry.

Without a doubt Foster's Ace Hardware is the best of the best. Friendly and knowledgeable staff and they carry hard-to-find items that many places don't stock. This is quite a feat for a hardware store in a small town in the upper peninsula.

I go here for random house and art projects all the time. They usually have what I need or will order it. They have answered so many of my random questions over the years! Knowledgable staff that is always nice.

Small town friendly knowledgable staff. They carry a nice basic supply of just about everything you'd find at big box stores. I also found it helpful that they also have an online site so you can check availability of products at each location. (When in doubt, just give them a call.)

My family and I were on vacation and spent 400$ in their store! I tried to take back a few things I had bought and even had my receipt. They would not take back a 79$ portable DVD player because it had been opened and used. Which is how I knew the item didn't work as advertised. Apparently they used to contract with radio shack but ended the contract and couldn't return it themselves. So I'm stuck with a portable DVD player that skips the whole time I drive.

Great small town hardware store. There's always plenty of employees that are eager to help you find what you are looking for or help out with ideas for your project. As a side note, I was looking thru a history book of Newberry and Foster's Hardware was one of the early stores in the area. If they have been doing business since the early 1900's, they've got to be doing something right!

I have never had more help at a hardware/electronics store IN MY LIFE!!! Brian went so far above and beyond helping me and my mom! I am building a closet so he got me EVERYTHING I needed AND fixed my phone! I am so thankful for people like him and Sue at the register for being so kind, courteous, and diligent with their work! Worst experience in a store period! Employees very discriminating.. try to make you buy their masks. Wont allow you to purchase anything if you cant wear a mask, even for medical reasons. When asked why are they discriminating since it loses business, his response was "they dont need business, their doing fine". Not all customers matter. Hope this review costs your store millions!

Friendly knowledgeable folks will help you here. The large parking lot will help the campers that are towing something have easy access in and out if the need arises.

Bought an air mattress there. The line to check out was long but they were moving quick and I don't think we waited more than 5 minutes from getting in line at checkout to getting to the car.

Nice hardware store with most things you would need for projects. Some of the things were a little over priced. The staff was friendly but not as helpful as you would typically see at Ace.

In a town where it's rare to see anyone wearing a mask, this store is a shining beacon of hope for following basic simple guidelines during a the worst Covid-19 outbreak to date. Masks are required and enforced at this location. Going into this store I didn't see a single person without a mask on. Did see one woman come in without one (guess the people at the front were on break), she took one look around and saw that EVERYONE had one on in the store, stopped and put one on. As someone who suffers from a condition that if I caught this it would be extremely dangerous, it is amazing to see a place actually enforce the mask rule. I wish other stores did this. Good on you Ace Hardware in Newberry, I only wish you sold groceries too so I could do all my shopping there!
