One of the few restaurants open during the off-season, and it wasn't busy at all, we could seat ourselves. Service was quick and the bathrooms were clean. We ordered the Cheese Curds which were unlike any cheese curds I've ever had, I would recommend them. We also ordered the Tiny Yokum's and the Lonesome Polecat and a couple local beers. I thought the burgers were really good, especially after some hiking, we just thought they were a little overpriced.

The Dogpatch Restaurant located in Munising, Michigan is one of place restaurants in town. We tried the Southwest chicken salad and a burger. They were both very good. We recommend this restaurant.Parking: Plenty of free parking available.

Food was quick, hot, and good enough for the kids! The burger was good, nothing to write home about and not bad at all, but the cheese curds were great! The kids loved their food. Our server was a young guy, did a pretty good job, just was very busy and distracted so it took a while for him to pick up the check.The not so great:When you walk in, it’s a very narrow hallway (where the bathroom doors are btw) and that’s where you wait to be seated (so you have to keep scooting over so people can get to the bathrooms or back out the doors to the parking lot). It’s very odd branding based on some obscure old comic that is questionably tasteful- gives an odd vibe, and the menus are all written in the same vernacular of the comic, which is interesting to read, to say the least, but I pity anyone whose first language isn’t English trying to decipher the menu.This place has apparently been around for a long time, and it shows. The whole restaurant is pretty dimly lit- not in a romantic way. The dark plaid carpets show every bit of food and straw wrapper. The women’s bathroom was dirty, and the stalls are super tiny and unlit. Rolls of paper towel were set on the sink where they got soaked from people washing their hands because the dispenser wasn’t working. The bathroom stalls are also absolutely not wheelchair accessible!We needed something fast for the kids, who were hungry, so it served its purpose, but I think we’ll try somewhere new next time.

I would say this place is overall pretty decent. Mostly friendly staff, it was very quick to get our food, and not overly priced. The environment almost takes you back in time which can be great and nostalgic especially for older generations. The food was delicious - we got whitefish and cheese curds to share and I will certainly be dreaming of those cheese curds until we return again someday. They were so yummy!

Great restaurant. Our Server, Lori, was very friendly and attentive. Food was served quickly. I got Fish and Chips (Fried whitefish) and my husband got burger and fries. Salad was big and fresh. Fish and fries were delicious! Burger was perfect. More than we could eat. Would definitely come back if in the area again.

We had great service. The place and restrooms looked clean. Our entree choices were the fried chicken and fish dinner. Each plate came with a side and salad bar. The salad bar was decent. The staff started to breakdown the salad bar 1 hour prior to closing. We did not get to try any macaroni, potato or bean salad. We both got the chicken and wild rice soup. It was ok. It had sat all day in the warmer so the rice started to break down. However, it still had good flavor. My chicken dinner was ok. The chicken breast piece was dry but still flavorful. My husband did like his fish dinner. Our baked potatoes were not fully cooked and just luck warm. Overall, it was meal.

Good food! Very cool interior.... People are awesome!Update: June 2022This place is still killing it! Food is perfect. Large portion size and good prices. The people whom work here are very friendly and good at what they do. The restaurant itself is clean and nicely decorated. They are reasonably quick at service and I believe this is a great place for families too. I'm raising my rating now to 5 stars. Give this place a try. I'm sure you too will love it.Parking: There is a lot in back with an entrance. There is also a street entrance with free parking on the street also.Kid-friendliness: I saw families dinning as we were there. No one seemed to mind. It's a decent sized place. They seemed very accommodating to everyone.Wheelchair accessibility: We entered at the street entrance. I do not think a wheelchair would pose a problem.

We had the homemade chips with queso. The chips were fantastic, and my favorite part of the meal. The burgers were good but nothing special. The decor was kitchy and fun, I hope they bring back the salad bar because that would be fun to see. You can definitely see the age of the inside but it just adds to the uniqueness of the place. It's a fun place to visit but not sure how many times.

Excellent whitefish sandwich with a fillet much larger than the bun.Topped with pickles, a slice of tomato, a slice of raw onion and lettuce. Served with tartar sauce on the side.It came with an abundance of fries.Much better than expected.

I don’t know why anyone would give this place less than 5 stars. Great food. It was busy, but the staff did a great job trying to get us a table quickly. The fried chicken tenders hit the spot.

As many of the other reviews have stated...avoid the whitefish here. It's very dry and fishy tasting compared to this restaurants competitors. In fact it's perhaps probably the worse. I'm giving it two stars because the other food which is mainly American style, is not nearly bad in comparison. It's mediocre at best and the lighting is very dim for a restaurant. All N all. If you came up to Munising to see pictured rocks and you are a tourist, make sure to check out the other restaurants in this area instead. Especially if you want to have delicious local whitefish.

Good food at a price. Sandwiches were a good size and service was fast and friendly. My only complaint is when we first came in there was a wait that was long given the number of open tables but I guess this was due to staffing. Otherwise great food, would come again for a quick lunch.

The pizza was good, I should've asked for it to be well done, as the toppings were almost room temp. We ordered pepperoni, mushroom and black olives. We had ALOT of mushrooms, some pepperoni and the black olives were visible, as well. We arrived an hour before closing time, had good service. 2 soda's, 12 inch, 3 topping pizza and our bill was only $21. I have been coming here since I was very young, I'm glad the Dogpatch is a staple in this town! Very clean surroundings, I Highly recommend!

My wife and I stopped here for lunch. The atmosphere is very unique and memorable, we found it quite charming. The service was awesome - Rita was our server and she was friendly, warm and funny! Our food came way faster than we were expecting, and it was delicious! I highly recommend getting the cheese curds if you stop by. We certainly will be stopping by again!
