We stayed 3 nights in one of their suites. We felt things were clean and we had plenty of room. The beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed. The staff were very helpful and courteous. My only complaint would be a little sparce on furniture, like nightstand with a lamp. We would have no problem staying there again.Nearby activities: There are lots of things to explore.

I think my favorite part of the Superior Motel was getting out of the bed. The bed uncomfortable, the bathroom had something nasty on it (noticed when we were leaving). There was dust everywhere on the blinds, toilet paper holder etc.. It smelled like uncle johns cabin (very musty). The door to the outside had a see through window and the chain had no where to attach to. The ceiling in the living room had a nice hole in it. The ONE night stand in the room was all chipped and beat up. Was it a room? Yes. Was it a $169 out the door room per night? NO. The staff was friendly and they do serve kind of a mini continental breakfast. This place would have been very nice circa 1993. Needs renovations badly

Nice looking on the outside. Unpleasant in the room. Seemed thrown together. Beds hard, pancake flat pillows, 2 cubic refrigerator sitting on the floor. 1 bedside table, nowhere for luggage and the smallest bath ever 3' wide. Could go on.Rooms: Makeshift

Room was very spacious and had everything we needed. However, it was quite musty and vaguely damp for our whole stay. I eventually went over to the gas station down the road, bought a car tree air freshener, and stuck it in the air conditioner. Other than that, the rooms were gorgeous!Noteworthy details: Musty

I’m always sketched out about motels.. saying that this is the nicest one I’ve ever been to. Cozy little rooms, feels like grandmas cabin :)The only reason they don’t get 5 stars is the pillows. All these other comments need to chill cause it’s not bad for a night or two.Food & drinks: They offer a small breakfast as an extra (doesn’t say it when you book)

It’s a nice no-frills, clean hotel if you’re looking for a place to rest and then enjoy the outdoors the next day. Sheets were scratchy to the point that their coarseness woke me up at night. They only provide shampoo and no conditioner or body wash. Entire room was dated but again, very clean. Fyi their double queen accommodations means they stuck two beds into a room meant for one, so space is tight.

The location sucks if you're looking for a quiet spot, but it is a good central point for all the cool destinations nearby! It is right on the busiest road in Munising. However, the rooms are very clean and good sized, the staff is helpful and friendly, and they have pet friendly rooms with NO BREED OR WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS! Will absolutely stay here again just because of this! Do you know how hard it is for a loveable lab to find a room to stay as most places do not allow over 50 pounds? Or heaven forbid you have a pitbull? Gasp! They did not even bat an eye at my girl

Stuck in this remote area. Very tiny for outrageous cost of $133.00 for one night. WiFi and TV ok. Tiny bath. Slow drain in tub. Lumpy mattress. Stayed in East landing. Paid $96.00 for a 500 sq ft suite with full kitchen, new bath and charging plugs in lamp. Will pay more for larger room next time in another town. Restaurants in Munising offered fried food only. The breakfast at Earl E Riser was great.

It was an okay stay! The things I liked about it:*Location*Coziness of room*That they offered breakfast (a light breakfast- granola bars, yogurt, orange juice, coffee, danishes and cinnamon rolls)*Sold snacks/drinks in office*They had a deck outside for eating|conversing*All employees we encountered were kind|invitingThings I disliked:*Something was up with the shower— It was either scolding hot or cold, there wasn’t an in-between*They didn’t put out all of the basic toiletries (only shampoo)*All of the appliances were unplugged? Telephone, microwave, refrigerator, etc. We had to toss our refrigerated goods because it was taking so long for refrigerator to cool.Overall, we would consider staying again! ✨

Very disappointed in the room after reviewing the room on line prior to booking. The main door had a half inch gap along the closure, could see outside!Toilet seat wouldn’t stay up. Needed updating desperately. Overpriced and would not recommend this motel.

It was ok. It was clean, no bed bugs...debunked those myths on here. Biggest gripes1. We stayed in the 2 bedroom unit. There is NO AC in the bedrooms. There is one portable AC unit in the living room, it should not be advertised as air conditioned.2. The floor is super SLANTED! would not advise if you have vertigo issues.Beds were fine, it was $169 a night to sleep all of us which is reasonable, but we spent as little time in the resort as possible.Probably will not stay here again.

My friend and I stayed here for our vacation to upper Michigan for Labor Day weekend. My review is between 2-3 stars; the room definitely needs TLC; stains on the carpet, some mold in the bathroom, floor in bathroom was broken in some spots. The outlets were definitely wonky. The lady at the front was super nice, and they do offer some things for breakfast but we did not get anything during our stay. For the price I paid for the weekend, was probably not worth what we got and the motel itself. Of course I paid for a holiday weekend so it was probably pricer than normal. They do allow pets which is one reason why I chose this location although we ended up not bringing our dogs with us.The motel is close to parts of the national park and there is a small grocery store across the ways. Not much to do in the town itself. It was a quiet motel which was nice.

Paid 145$. Not 123$ Not worth it.Cody at front desk had to use our HDMI cable to get the outdated cable TV working. Kudos to Cody 👏great kid**my grandson had to rework the refrigerator connection to get it working, the coffee pot working and microwave.** there was a chicken leg bone under the microwave** fr! eeeewwww!!!Cheap towels, cheap t.p., cheap coffee, the place is pretty old w/o badly needed renovation, way over priced, an old loud a/c unit in window which had a filthy screen filter I removed for better airflow, no a/c in 2nd bdrm but there's a fan to use, floors uneven, doors are in need of leveling. No view.Grocery store and Hardee's are walking distance close.

So very disappointed that at this price, the room (Room # 26, two queen beds) was a severe disappointment! Slanted floors, lack of outlets to be able to charge our phones, cobwebs and spiders!! The bathroom was so tiny, there was no place near the sink to put any toiletries or anything else. A little bit noisy because we were very near the office and with a window air conditioning unit, a lot of outside noise came through the open window area. The night before, we stayed at a motel near Ontonagon in a "deluxe" room that cost just a little bit more than this sorry excuse for a motel room. Wishing we had paid a few dollars more for a decent place.

Was clean, but there were a couple of annoyances with the room. There is only 1 table beside the bed instead of 1 on each side. This is the first time I had ever came across not having tables on both sides with plug-ins. There were no blinds for our window so we had bright city lights shining in our room all night along with the car headlights that pulled into the parking lot. Bed was comfortable. Kept hearing noises like someone was banging on a pipe, but thankfully it stopped before we went to bed, but heard it again in the morning at about 7a.m. They give out free bags of ice so that was nice. The free breakfast consists of a Danish, coffee, yogurt and a chocolate chip granola bar. Room was 55 degrees when we walked in, which was a tad cold, but the room warmed within minutes of changing the temp.Would stay here again if I was in the area. Very close to everywhere we needed to go.

Room was in the older building. The towels were stained. There were scrapes in the walls. Water shot out of bathtub faucet entire time shower was going. Unfortunately we were there when it was in the upper 80s and lower 90s (unusual for Munising). The air conditioner just couldn't keep up. We had to prop bedroom door open because it would swing closed. This would cut the room off from the AC coming from the window unit in the main area. Husband and another guest in our room said coffee was terrible. The bright spot of the hotel was that the staff were great. Super friendly and helpful. Had yogurt, juice, coffee, granola, and pastry available for breakfast. They also had water for sale which was nice being that it was so hot.

Room was pretty dirty. There are cobwebs and spider webs everywhere, a massive spider up in the bathroom corner, even the pine cone lamp which could have been really cool looking was covered in caked on nasty dust. We are also lucky enough to find someone's old takeout lid behind our dresser. The heater was falling off the bathroom wall. I'm embarrassed to say I paid over $100 for this but lesson was definitely learned.

this hotel is very overpriced for what you get. It was small, could have been cleaner, coffee pot leaked all over, they would not clean up our room between the first and second day because of "covid rules" which is nuts. The bed was comfortable enough but the sheets didn't fit and kept popping off which was extremely irritating. There was construction going on right in front of the hotel, which of course was not their fault, but made sleeping past 6 am. Staff was not too friendly - no thank you for staying - just took the keys off the counter. When we asked for extra coffee, we got it but they acted like we had a lot of nerve asking! What they showed in the pictures is not typical of every room. If you are not a very small, short person- good luck in the shower! It was kind of like a space capsule and although I loved the faucet in the sink- the sink itself was the smallest thing I have every seen and there was absolutely no storage and no hangers for the clothes hanging bar. Would not stay again

It's very clear that Superior Motel and Suites is ran by a small group of dedicated individuals trying to create a "Superior" motel experience. Our room was a little strangely put together. This included a wood wall that was built directly over an electric baseboard heater, which is a clear fire hazard. However, the room itself was very nice with wood detailing where any other motel would have drywalled over. Our room featured an antique 1950's oven and microwave combo which was very cool.

Clean Comfortable. Our room was smaller, but was fine for us. TV, mini-fridge, microwave, with free wireless. The bathroom is older and also small, but was spotless with nice hot water and towels. I would stay again for the price. Dog friendly. 10/2016.

Ok but overpriced and not as clean as it could be. Bed wasn't bad but sheets don't fit and kept popping off. No hangers for the clothes bar. Horrible construction going on right in front of hotel- not their fault but made for terrible sleeping in the morning. Would not stay here again. When we checked out there was no thank you, just took the keys. Also when we asked for extra coffee (for the super leaky coffee pot) they gave it us but were not too pleasant about itbut weren't very pleasant about it

Basic motel, need work toilet wouldn't flush well. Had to hold.down the handle till everything went down. Room was very dark with all the wood but still comfortable and loved having a separate bedroom so Mom could sleep in a separate place.

There was an issue with the sink in our room. They didn't tell us until I went back to let them know about it running and they said they were aware. So, our sink ran all day and all night with hot water. The shower would change temps on it's own, so if you set it to warm, it would still change between cold and scalding hot even though you didn't touch the dial. Made for a difficult frustrating shower. The bed was hard, and so loud when you turn over. Not to mention the walls are paper thin so we heard the neighbors on one side come in and out all night and the ones on the other side we heard their bathroom door and toilet every 10 minutes. Overall we just wanted a bed and shower, and we got that, it was just extremely disappointing.

I ended up staying here since I arrived late for backpacking at Pictured Rocks. The room was simple but quite suitable. The bed was excellent, coffee was available, and the overall accommodations were clean.Overall, I was extremely pleased. The staff was friendly, the price was affordable and I had everything I needed. Was it perfect? No. Did it exceed my expectations? Absolutely.

Stayed here one night. It did its purpose. Rooms were pricey for quality and amenities. Small and out dated.
