This is the best way for sure to see the features of the lake shore. One thing to keep in mind, they say to line up around an hour or so before the tour however, people will start lining up well before that. It's definitely easier to get good pictures if you have a seat at the edge of the row, so come very early. They also had a tech issue with the website the day I was there, which is probably rare, but having printed my tickets on paper made things easier. You also may want to bring sunglasses if you are on the top row because that wind hits you hard. These boats get some really good speed going. The tour is great, You can't have a bad time on this one.

This boat tour is well worth the price! We took the sunset tour and thoroughly enjoyed it - there really is no way to grasp the full beauty of the Pictured Rocks if you just stay on the land. The boat was pretty full but they did a good job at making sure everyone stayed seated so they didn’t impede the views of everyone else. The captain did an awesome job of narrating as we went along and kept everyone smiling (or groaning) 😉 with his wisecracks. Highly recommend buying tickets in advance if going on the sunset cruise.

Awesome cruise experience on picture rock. We arrived on July last weekend and there were moderate crowd in the area. Ample parking space but I doubt if the parking lot can handle the full cruise capacity. Staff at ticketing was bit less friendly but she answered the question asked. Overall all the staffs are friendly , captain was funny and engaged the crowd. We were asked to be at boarding 10 min before our cruise time. Boarding was quick and easy. Seating was available on closed and open on top. Close ~70 on open deck. Our cruise Capacity was~300 but we were around ~1/3 of the capacity. So we had enough seating option .cruise ride weather could be less than 10degree from land temperature and keep in mind for your trip (in case you want to bring fleece jacket ). We thoroughly enjoyed the cruise trip. A limited food option the town but there is a grill /bar near to docking area. Ticket office / store has lot option for shopping, has restroom options in the store. Cruise does have only water/pop. The time various on the trip selection. Vendor Site has complete information about ride / fee / travel times etc. we paid $52 / adult. Worth the money and don’t miss any one of the option.

100% worth every penny. Make sure to get there about 20-30 minutes before your scheduled departure; the line builds up fast and where you sit you stay, no standing allowed, so you’ll want to snag a good seat. It was amazing to see these rocks up close and even more amazing how far we got to go. Their gift shop is amazing and incredibly reasonably priced. If you’re thinking about it, do it!! (Then hit up Eh! burger after for some delicious food)

For being the only tour company in town, they are fantastic. We were on the brand new boat built this year that was really smooth, and even with a small craft advisory, we did not get rocked or even wet.The crew was fantastic. They provided a great historical narrative along the way with the rock formations. No food on board, but they do sell drinks. They board first come, first served, so if you want your pick of seats, get there early. But our boat wasn't even half full, so arriving a half hour ahead was more than enough time. There is also a massive gift shop inside that has every type of apparel and souvenir you could think of.

Great way to see the Pictured Rocks! Tickets for the sunset cruise were purchased weeks in advance, and although we arrived at 6 p.m. to board the boat for the 6:45 p.m. tour, we arrived to see quite a long line. Thankfully, they had 2 boats going out at the same time so we were still able to secure the much sought-after seats on the top of the boat. The captain was personable, friendly, funny, and knowledgeable. The ride out was longer, giving ample opportunities for photos while the ride back was quicker. Before we turned around to head back to the dock, they even pulled the boat into a little cavernous section of rocks and it was an awesome experience. There is no standing on the boat at any point during the cruise unless you stand at the back of the 1st floor... even then, be prepared to get wet!Overall, it was an incredible 2 hour cruise and I'd highly recommend it!

Sure wish I would have taken a picture of the place and boat, but I didn't. The boat was nice and the building we purchased tickets in has a very nice gift shop with LOTS to choose from. Our cruise was perfect. The gentlemen working were all helpful and respectful and just wanted to make sure we had a nice time. The guy driving had a dry and fun sense of humor. We decided to ride in the second row on the top and right-hand side. It was nice for picture taking. We also had such nice weather they treated all of us to spray falls!!! (This is normally an extra $10/ticket!) SO that small gesture was very nice and appreciated- thank you! We also went on a beautiful (76 degree) fall day....absolutely perfect on our return back to shore we decided to head to the seats located inside the cabin. There is a bar that you can purchase drinks from. A viewing/standing area is located at the back of the boat for taking pictures (or puking...lol 😆). Current prices are $44 for an adult and I think $14 for kids. And under 5 are another price....I just can't remember. We showed up a half hour early.....definitely at least do that.

We took the Spray Falls Cruise. Got there about 30 min early and a pretty good line had already formed on Friday. Seating is first in line but we still got good seats on second deck. This is the best way to see all that Pictured Rocks has in about 2 - 2 1/2 boat ride. Good narrators to help explain what you are seeing. Highly recommend.

Really enjoyed the cruise to The Pictured Rocks and Cliffs. The cruise boat the we took was two levels. Bring a jacket because in August it was cool enough. We went below and had the best seats. If you go early sit on the left side because once the captain turns the boat everything will be on your side and the sun will be at your back. This was probably one of the best boat ours we’ve taken and enjoyed it immensely. Rates were reasonable.

What a beautiful cruise! The cruise does last about 2 hours, there is a bathroom and drinks on board. The views are just incredible and they do a great job at getting as close as they can and explaining the history. The actual vessel was brand new and very smooth. Get there early if you want good seats, it’s first come first serve. We arrived an hour before and there were still groups ahead of us.

This has got to be the best way to experience Pictured Rocks, especially if you're short on time. In under 3 hours we saw some of the most breathtaking sights. Our captain and crew were funny, informative, and friendly. I was worried about getting queasy because I've never done anything like this before but the water was just a bit wavy, I got butterflies a couple times on the waves but after a few I did get used to it and then just enjoyed the ride. A lot of reviews mentioned wanting to be on the top deck but we sat down below on the right side and feel like we had one of the best seats in the place, and that you'll get amazing views from anywhere on the boat so don't fret if you're toward the end of the line. Highly recommend.

Amazing! We did the Spray Falls tour, a definite must-see! Thankfully, the fog lifted on Sunday in the evening after 4 p.m. so we were able to see the amazing sites. The boat cruise was smooth and delightful. Captain and crew were amazing and friendly. Loved hearing about the sites along the way. Some people were not dressed appropriately for the cooler weather on Lake Superior. We booked ahead of time and printed our tickets at home. Loading and unloading on the boat went smooth. This is a must if you're in the area!

The cruise is beautiful! The captain was hilarious and so informative!Just a few tips:Get there by 1045 if you want a good seat for the 12 pm cruise.Sit on the right going, you'll get the best picturesOn the way back, our captain got closer to the rocks on the left side, which was amazing!Bring water, and maybe a light coat, it can kind of get chilly.

They had an excellent and friendly crew. They cruise rain or shine. This was the best trip ever! We took some friends on the sunset spray waterfall cruise. This is the cruise you want! We had a rainstorm come and it made for the most beautiful scenes and pictures including a full rainbow over the beautiful rocks! I cannot say enough good about this tour!

Highly recommend taking this cruise to see the cliffs! We took the 10am ride which was pretty warm. We sat on the top deck for a while then opted to stand on the lower back side which is the only place standing is allowed unfortunately. We brought our baby and she started to fuss so standing in the back worked best for us. Lots of interesting facts shared as we cruised. The scenery was stunning. It was about two hours total. They don’t allow dogs on the boat, but you can pay $5 to lock your dog in a kennel at the harbor.

Omggg I loved this so much, the entire crew was great and I definitely got some good laughs throughout while also taking in the gorgeous views. Definitely a nice and unique experience and definitely worth every penny. If you haven’t experienced this you’re missing out! Alsooo try and dress a bit warm even if it’s nice out because the winds will get you! Regardless such a great experience!

Loved it, had a nice sunny day for cruise. Picture Rock did not disappoint, colors were great in the afternoon sun. Tour guide was funny with good info and stories. Highly recommend this tour. If you want top deck get there one hour before. But no place to sit and no shelter while waiting in line. We did lower deck on right side and could still see good. That would be my only negative comment for older customers that can not stand that long.

Went on the Sunset splash cruise at 5:30om. The cruise was 2 hours. It pays to get there early if you want to sit up on the upper deck as it is first come first serve. We arrived 30 mins before and were middle in the line. We decided on the lower level as it was a beautiful day and in the 80's for this October day in Michigan just beautiful! When the sun goes down though it gets chilly so bring a sweater and and remember if you sit up top you will get the wind and might be very chilly on the way back. The views are great on the lower level and if you sit on the left side you get the views on the way back when the sun is setting more. What beautiful views as pictures don't even show really how just beautiful it is. The captain had lots of information and made sure everyone had the same opportunity for pictures no matter where you sit. My mom and I had a wonderful time. Thank you!

One highly recommended experience is the Classic Cruise, an excellent choice for anyone exploring Pictured Rocks. Lasting around 2.5 hours for a round trip, this cruise takes passengers on a picturesque journey along Lake Superior, granting them spectacular views of the iconic sandstone cliffs, dynamic rock formations, and pristine turquoise waters. The knowledgeable guides on board enrich the experience with fascinating commentary on the geological features, history, and wildlife. The opportunity to witness the breathtaking beauty of Pictured Rocks from the water is truly unforgettable, making the Classic Cruise a top-rated attraction.

I ordered these tickets the night before on their website. It was easy to choose what I wanted and to check out. They sent the e-tickets via email. Got there on the morning of the cruise. They have covered seating below and open seating above. They are very informative and gave the history of the area. They get you right up close, and it was absolutely beautiful! A couple tips: If you don't want to get wet, don't sit in the outside seat. Wear a hat and sunglasses if you sit above because it's pretty windy. And get there early if you do want a seat on the upper deck. We loved this cruise and would definitely do it again. Thank you!!

If you are taking a boat tour to see the Pictured Rocks, this is the group to go with. They are amazing. The captain was great and very informative. The staff was amazing and getting our tickets was easy. We did the classic tour, and that was a great one to take for our first time. You can sit on either side of the boat. They go back the same route, so the opposite side of the boat can see. You won't miss a thing. Thanks so much for an amazing tour.

The boat ride was a fantastic experience, lasting about 2 hours (maybe 1.5 hours?) I recommend sitting on the top level, where you can get the best experience, including the views of the magnificence of Lake Superior, along with the fresh air and wind. The captain was both informative and humorous simultaneously. Definitely recommend taking the Pictured Rocks Cruise.

Great service! Due to the rain forecast, they split the group into 2 boats so that if it did rain we’d all be able to stay dry on the lower decks. That was really nice, much appreciated. The captain of our boat was great, he took us into a nook that the boat fit into perfectly - that was a treat because I’m sure that only happens weather permitting. The info about pictured rocks and Lake Superior was awesome and I loved all the corny jokes- there were a lot of those!!!

We took the spray falls tour. Nice tour that was informative of the national park. The help on the boat was great to visit with and really gave some insight on some of the local areas to see. Tip: on the way up sit on the right side of the boat, top deck and on the way back, go down and stand at the back of the boat. Really some different views and make the trip worth while.

Really impressive views. Only wish we hadn't been competing with the kayaks who tended to be in several of our pictures. We had the 10 am cruise and it wasn't really full. Everyone wanted to go up top and since most of them had kids, be my guest. We enjoyed the quiet interior of deck two and saw the rock formations at eye level. Captain was funny, if you like a lot of dad jokes, but he kept the 2 hour ride moving along (which it felt more like 45 minutes). Great history and information and lunch afterward in Munising is a must!! If you're sensitive to diesel smell like I am, it will fill the boat at the start and end of the cruise. Either cover your mouth and nose like I did or just go on the open standing deck on level one and then find a seat.
