The new owners are catching a lot of hate in these reviews but I don’t see it… prices are still good, and selection is still outstanding. There’s still soft serve (including a rotation of bonus flavors), great hand dip options, plus shakes and sundaes and such. We’ve been loyal patrons for years, and we still are.

Oh dear......new owners have wrecked this place. Have to go somewhere else or just make my own ice cream which is easy to doJust bought a banana split from there and it was awful. 5 tiny slices of banana, 2 miniscule slices of strawberry and a bunch of nasty sour blueberries (who puts blueberries in banana splits?) And worst of all the ice cream in the split was some nasty tasteless soft serve and the price was ridiculous.3 sundaes and one cone of ice cream was over $30Subpar....all of it

Stopped for ice cream and ordered cherry, didn't say soft serve but that's what I got and it tasted chemically. Husband ordered butter pecan and didn't say sugar free but that's what he got. At least the dog liked his pupcup

We ordered 3 medium (16 oz) Boston coolers and a double scoop of ice cream…THE PRICE… $28.00 NO JOKE! They didn’t even give us lids for our Boston Coolers! We understand now, why there wasn’t a line with it being 86 degrees outside! The plus side, they have additional parking around the back now!

Come here many times. Staff is always friendly. The prices are more than fair, and the portions, like many ice cream shops, are generous. The quality of the ice cream is great and they have different unique treats as well such as sundae "nachos"

Previous owners, please come back !!!!!! Big change in menus, not many items on menus. Service was very slow, one of the workers was playing with a dog in the parking lot for several minutes while customers waited,. She then went inside, never washed her hands cause you could clearly see her making ice cream orders. Sizes of ice cream has dramatically changed this year, half the size they use to be.

Let me tell you, I've been coming to Carie's Caboose ever since I was a little kid. I'd come here after soccer games and practice, a couple times during summer, etc.Now I have the tradition of taking my wife and daughter here. If you want ice cream, this is the place to go!Prices are amazing for the amount of ice cream you get, especially for hand-scooped ice cream.They have loads of flavors to choose from.They offer bowls and spoons for the youngsters who might make a mess with a cone. They also allow pets, and give ice cream to pets as well. Tables outside for you to eat at.Like I said, if you want ice cream, this is the BEST place to go. Friendly staff, clean, and amazing ice cream.

This is an amazing family owned ice cream shop. The ice cream is great and they have a wide selection of flavors. Hand dipped, soft serve, shakes, slushies and even dog treats are on their menu. The prices are spot on as well and you get a ton! The banana split could easily feed three. If you're looking for a cold sweet treat and you're in the area make sure you check them out.

This is by far the best around! Always people in line but never much wait. Very friendly staff! Ice-cream is generously sized, prices are good & the taste is amazing!! I'll drive past other places just to come here instead. You guys won me over with the first lick.🤩

Always a great place to stop for ice cream. The service is excellent. There is always a large variety of ice cream flavors to choose from. We have been coming here since I was a kid and I'm always excited to take my kids too. And the doggies, since they love their doggie sundaes!

New owners ruined what once was a community hotspot. Everyone in montrose loved coming to the caboose with the family and enjoying some good quality ice cream at a low price. Now the prices are outrageous for the portion sizes. A large now is what a small was before.

Extra large portions, reasonable prices, lots of choices. Outdoor seating only, handicap ramp to window. Easy to find and see from roadway with parking in front of the building. Great ice cream stop for everyone!

Used to love coming to Carrie’s Caboose with my family. Employees were nice, prices were great, portions were awesome. Ever since the new owners took over, the menu is cut in half and the prices are RIDICULOUS.

I don't know why everyone thinks this place is so great! Their soft-serve is too thick and has no flavor....everything here is over-priced, too. Mcdonald's does it better. Their soft-serve is light in texture. (HOW IT SHOULD BE)! for all the hype, the caboose isn't even worth it.

Absolutely amazing customer service! We wanted to buy gift cards and they were out of them in Montrose. The owner was working in flushing and made arrangements with me to get them to give to our kids sports team that day. Seriously above and beyond!

asked for banana split. The lady asks regular size and with nuts,whip cream, and cherry. Yes please. As pay I say could I please get 2 spoons. Yes wait at nx window please. Here’s your change.So I wait expecting a banana split. I almost asked what it was except she said here is your banana split. I was close to saying it’s in a cup all messed up. That is not a banana split. But I didn’t want to waste food. Should have gone to Dairy Queen .I got very tall clear prob 32oz or bigger plastic cup .The bananas were all at the top. And everything was a hot mess. It looked like it was thrown in a blender and poured into a cup and said here is your banana split.Sorry but if no bowls they should warn people.As soon as tried to eat it with my mom. It oozed all over the cup dripping everywhere.. Who puts a banana split in a cup ??And i only got one spoon as the lady handing it to me says two spoons. And drops the one back in the tray. So I have to say excuse me please. can I please get a second spoon. The spoons didn’t even go half down the tall plastic cup so again sticky hot mess. I will not be back for banana split.They don’t go in cups. 😞Ughh I didn’t think a banana split could get ruined.

Been coming here ever since I was a kid. Always give you more than you ask, so a small is not very small at all. Always great, polite, and just overall friendly staff everytime I have went. Great business overall and delicious ice cream!

The place to go! Icecreams excellent! Soft serve or hand dipped! Flurrys! Malts! Beautiful waitresses!!! 4 out 5 Stars! * A little pricey but as soon as you take a bite, you'll know where that extra cost went! Recommended!!

I don't think they should be allowed to call what they consider a banana split, a banana split! That was the most disappointing thing I've ever seen...who puts a banana split in a cup? It was like a banana shake maybe? At least warn people that its not an actual banana split like EVERYONE is used to!

I have been going here for years and love the ice cream. Portions are large so be careful in what you order or you may end up with too much.
