I took my 8yr old dachshund here for dental issues and I couldn’t have asked for better care for my girl. She had to stay over night for a procedure and after the initial visit, I was very confident that she was in great hands. Waiting times can be a little lengthy, but it’s worth the care and knowledge that Dr. Ferstl provides for his patients! The entire staff is friendly and informative. I will be taking all of my animals here going forward, for it’s hard to find such a trustworthy and reasonable veterinarian as himself. Maggie and I thank you all for the tremendous care and hard work you do. We will be seeing you again :)

Dr Ferstl saved our cat from various health issues multiple times. He did all he could, sometimes even after hours, to help our family out. Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to our 4-legged friend recently as he reached a point where there was no quality of life left, and his office was an important part of making that process easier to deal with. We will take our furry family members to Dr Ferstl for as long as he is in business. RIP Paws

I wish there was a way to give 10 stars. The staff at Ferstl was so kind caring for our pup. We drove an hour to take our pup here for their outstanding care. Their prices are reasonable, and everyone here is a joy to work with. The whole team works long hours to take care of our pets and animals, and their hard work, care, and dedication are noticed. I am so grateful for everyone here. The whole team deserves one big hug! Thank you for all that you do!

Dr. Ferstl is really a wonderful guy. He is dedicated & hardworking. He is very caring & understanding. His staff is professional but relatable & friendly. The building/office/exam rooms are clean & comfortable. I went there under awful circumstances and did end up losing my dog Karma but Dr Ferstl worked so hard to help her and make her better for us, I know it was just too late for her but his dedication and efforts were so very appreciated. All the while he was trying to save her he made sure to keep me updated and calm which was truly helpful & kind of him. He & his staff will be my number 1 choice of vets for as long as I live in the area. I may be 45 minutes away from them but they are well worth the long drive.

Dr. Ferstl has been our vet for the past 3 years, he and his office staff are the best around. They truly care, never push meds and procedures that are not needed.

We brought are dog there after she ended up with happy tail. Even though we had to wait a long time it was worth it (we were also walk ins). He gave us all of are options and we ended up going with a tail amputation which was the best decision. He did an amazing job on her tail. Also my dog has been losing weight and he was able to help with that as well. I am going to be bringing my dogs here from now on.

They don't disclose clear prices on what services cost prior to doing them. They also have signs stating, "we do not accept payments due to people canceling payments." They show they have a history of not being open about what they are charging before performing their services.I spent $850.00 for an X ray and shots to have my dog asleep, supplements, and steroids. I was told there was no point in doing surgery for a torn CCL [ Ligament.]. Vet told me that the procedure would be "around" $5,000.00 - again, there is no clear price. Thinking about it afterwards, my dog should not have been put to sleep to check for a torn ligament. X RAYS do show this. I have 0 in my bank account now, and they left me to figure out where my money for gas and food are supposed to come from because of their lack of clarity on options and pricing. Shame on any vet that takes advantage of people with hearts for their animals.I was also there 2:30 to 7pm for all of this mess. I spent a total of 3 hours waiting to be seen and was told two days prior to "just come in" when I was attempting to set up an appointment. Never again will be going back here. It was literally cheaper to have put my dog down prior to being seen. The cost for putting my dog down would have been $250!!! Makes 0 sense!!!!

Very helpful and friendly staff. Traveled 1 hour and a half, and it was worth the drive. Will definitely be returning for all my vet needs.

I’ve gotten a short hair exotic kitten through a backyard breeder. Long story short the lady sold me a kitten with a pronounced leg injury and lied about the severity of the condition of this kitten. When my kitten got to Michigan the kitten immediately showed issues with his leg injury, I was told by other (Clinics) that his leg would have to get amputated but I said absolutely not because his paw and toes still worked. Then I came here and doctor did everything he could to save his leg and reconstruct all bones together while Dr was in surgery in total of 4 hours for my baby and saved his leg and yes his leg grew healthy and functioning amazingly. Pictures below!!!

Never wound up seeing a vet. Arrived at 2:30 for scheduled appointment.3:45 still sitting in waiting room. They are closed from 12 to 2:30 for surgeries so at 2:20 all these cars start coming in the parking lot. At 2:30 they all scrambled to the door and signed in. I'm thinking everyone's appointment is at the same time and whoever signs in first goes in first...not good!!! I went home...

We just moved to the area and hadn’t found a vet yet for our pets yet. I tried Great Lakes Vet in Saginaw, and they refused to care for my dog that was hit by a car. So I was grateful, a friend recommended this practice. Such wonderful care. They stayed open late on a Friday to admit him for his severe injuries. I can tell they truly care for animals and their owners. Will recommend this practice to everyone.

My first experience with this vet was fine, nothing out of the ordinary. On my way out I asked if they did health certificates for the UK and EU as I would be traveling in a few months. They assured me they did and would even print out the paperwork for me.The day of my appointment for the health certificates however was a nightmare. They asked me for the documents which thankfully I had printed and brought just in case and told me the the doctor would be back shortly. From the moment he entered the room he was aggravated and aggressive towards me. He ranted at me about how he's been doing this for 40 years and he's never been asked to give an animal a medication for an illness it doesn't have and how he's done this paperwork for animals going to xyz county and this has never been a requirement. When I tried to point out that it was stated in the documents I provided him and that I had emailed the USDA about it for clarification, he came back at me about how I should have made sure I got the name of the person I was corresponding with via email and how he would have called the UK because you "can't trust our government these days" and that "Biden lies to us every day". He continued to be combative and argue with me about the requirements and tried insisteing that my dog needed testing that I knew he didn't. He griped about the "30 pages" of paperwork and couldn't grasp that it was two separate health certificates. He was also very concerned about his liability which doesn't make any sense as everything must be endorsed by the USDA prior to traveling and they ask you to make corrections etc if necessary. He finally settled down a bit and agreed to do what was required but was then confused when I told him I needed him to fill out and sign the documents. All of this was punctuated by him frequently leaving the room for long spans of time, forcing me to wait while he tried to figure out what to do. It became painfully obvious he had no idea what the standards were or what the course of action was so I asked if he was even certified with the USDA. After having to leave the room once again to ask his associate and make some calls, turns out he wasn't. And hadn't been since 2015. Which he thought was 5 years ago. After this was revealed he said he would not charge me for any part of the vist. After another trip out of the room he decided he was going to charge me for the tapeworm shot because he believed it would be fine for my paperwork. It was not, as it needs to be administered by a USDA certified vet. So because of his lie and negligence my dog had to get double dosed and a shot for no reason. The paperwork is no doubt convoluted and a bit overwhelming however the attitude that was directed at me was entirely unacceptable and incredibly unprofessional. I know it can be embarrassing for some people when they realize they're uninformed or confused but that's no excuse for throwing a temper tantrum and treating someone poorly. Especially in a place of business. I wasted almost 3 hours, 50$ (half of the cost it ended up being to get the certificates actually taken care of), the huge cost of rescheduling my flight, and was yelled at because this man lied about being able to provide a service he was not certified to do. On top of it there was no apology for his behavior, how long I was there, or not being able to do the certificates. He even had the audacity to ask me to let him know how it went so he would know for the future. The only good thing he did was call around and get me an appointment with Laursen Veterinary Service who were incredibly kind, helpful, understanding and actually able to do the certificates, all in an hour and a half. *edit* I was refunded the 50$ for the shot after calling and asking for one.

The vet saved my cats life. It was fourth of July weekend and I couldn't find anyone who would see him. I call Ferstl's and even though they were only a few minute to close they asked me how soon could I get there. I was a wreck when we got there and in the end he was saved! I thank this clinic everyday for another day with my fur-babie!.

SO thankful for this veterinarian & staff. Was my first time coming here & will proceed to bring all of my animals here now. I wasted so much money at a previous vet & as soon as the X-rays were sent over he immediately realized it was cancer & provided after hours emergency surgery that saved my dogs life even though I've never been a client of his and kept me updated throughout.

Abysmal wait times. If you schedule an appointment be prepared to wait a good 2-4 hours after your scheduled time. I understand that emergencies come up but it has been every time I’ve come here. There’s a different clinic just down the road, I highly recommend them.

It's been a very stressful event I let my dog out to go to the bathroom he was running and playing and screeched in pain and both his legs were paralyzed it was after hours and I could not find a vet. I called my personal vet I called everybody I could find on social media they were all closed or referred me to Great lakes animal Hospital I called Great lakes animal hospital and they refused to see my dog because they were overcapacity told me to go to Ann arbor or somewhere else I ended up calling Dr Paul and got his answering service who referred me to Blue Pearl BluePearl didn't do much to help sent me home with pain medications so the next day I called first still in Millington Michigan I have never been so impressed the staff was super nice very caring very efficient after last night going to Blue Pearl I spent a lot of money on paying my medicine and that is all they did I drove 2 hours to get there 2 hours home with a poor sickly dog for nothing I went to first those and right away he had an idea what was wrong a plan of action is working with me to try to get to the bottom of this and as I said they were so compassionate and so caring I will never go anywhere else this is the place to go if you truly want someone that knows what they're doing and cares about your pet because that's the only impression I got while I was there

They deserve a 10 star rating! We are so happy with the exceptional care they give our Zeus. It is well worth our 3 hour round trip travel time. He has done in less than 2 weeks what it had taken over 3 years to not be able to do from our previous vet. We will only bring our pets here from now on.

Love Tom and his staff. They were very caring and kind to my son and me when our dog was sick and dying. We spent 8 months trying to save her. Tom made sure she was not in pain and when the time came to put her down they allowed us to stay with her until my son was ready to leave his best friend. Most of the time they did not even charge me for office calls. Our new puppy is there right now. I will never go anywhere else and I do always recommend him to anyone that needs care for their fur babies.

Myself and my family have used this vet for many years now. We have found Dr Ferstl to be the best vet we have ever had.The office staff are kind and courteous. Everything is explained to you and you can feel comfortable to ask questions. They also respond via email very quickly, which is very convenient when I am usually working during the day and can't really make outbound calls.Yes, there is often a long wait. But they will always squeeze you in as a walk in, which is an important thing. Yes, going to the vet can be pricey, but that is just the cost of having a pet or pets. I do not believe the charges are ever outrageous whatsoever. Overall, great place to take your pet. Would recommend to anyone.

Worst experience ever! This vet euthanized my cat. Took over an hour and he gave her shots in her heart! It was barbaric and I should have been warned. Plus I was told they would gas her before starting as she was not friendly. Never will go here again.

They have an amazingly friendly and supportive staff. My family and I had to take our Yorkie, Teddy, to Ferstl's because he was barely breathing. Our Teddy ended up passing, but the staff let us say our goodbyes in a private room before he was taken for a cremation.

I have taken both of my dogs to Ferstl Veterinary Hospital for neutering and to be spayed. The first one was my Cavapoo puppy and the second one was my 4 1/2 year old Shih Tzu. Everything went fine with the puppy but we had some complications with the Shih Tzu. I was supposed to pick her up that night. Tom Ferstl the veterinarian called me and said he would like to keep her overnight so he could watch her. After speaking with him on the phone and the next day at the hospital I realized what a caring man he is. I have read a lot of the reviews and only criticism I have noticed was the wait time. Let me say this, if it was your dog or cat that was having problems and Dr Ferstl spent extra time on them it wouldn’t be a problem would it? I highly recommend Ferstl Veterinary Hospital.
