Great pet store!!! Tons of brands for everyone's needs/wants.We used the self-service doggie wash. It was soooo amazing and so convenient!!! Even have a blow/dry hose where you can dry off your pet when you are done washing!! 🚿 🐶 They supply everything you'd need. *Suggestion bring own towels and brushes. Price was fair. Definitely for the convince it's priceless ✨Staff was friendly and helpful!!

Soldan's has been around my entire life, I used to visit when I was young to see the animals and buy treats for my dog. I'd never noticed any issues with them until recently.The primary issue with Soldan's is how uneducated the management is. They are there for profit and could care less about the animals and it shows. The employees are generally extremely helpful and caring, the management is the issue. The axolotls are suffering here. I will include photos of the conditions one is kept in -- there is direct light on the tank, running water, dirty conditions, and other fish in it's tank. These are all unacceptable and are likely a few reasons for the creature's malnourishment and infections.Axolotls should have gills and swim around consistently. This one has been in the same place since our visit two days ago and the filaments that sit on their gills have been eaten away by fungus or possibly eaten by the feeder fish.Partial water changes should be made once a week and complete changes once a month. It is apparent by the quality of the water and tank that this is not happening. Algae growth, while likely not harmful for other animals, is harmful for axolotls.This water salamander has fungal growths on it's gills and filaments and has not been treated in the two days since our last visit. When we discussed this with an employee, they were very sympathetic and understanding. They seem knowledgeable and to care about the animals but unable to do much about the situation due to the management.The light was shining directly into their tank which is unacceptable but management "wants them to be seen by customers."Treatment for the fungal growth and starvation would be salt baths for 10 minutes every day, a new dietary plan, and complete water changes but I can almost guarantee this animal will be dead because this store prioritizes profit over their care of animals. They should consult an expert on how to help this animal become healthy once more but they will probably not do so.There are also issues with how their ferrets are being kept -- they are in a smaller glass cage when they once were in a climbing cage which suits their needs and personality better.I hardly wish to hurt a business during a pandemic and I don't expect Soldan's to spoil every single animal as the animal likely won't be there forever but they are actively harming animals like axolotls and I don't know how else to get help for them.DO NOT buy an axolotl from pet stores like Soldan's and go to a breeder who is knowledgable about axolotl care.

I go here weekly to get live feed for my reptiles. The staff is super friendly and fun to chat with, and they usually have what I need. (mice and rats are popular and go quick) Would definitely recommend this place over PetSmart!

Soldan's is our go to place for all of our pet needs. We have 3 cats and 2 very large lap dogs so we are in regularly for food and other stuff. The staff are the best, helpful and willing to go that extra mile to keep customers happy and more importantly regular. We average 2 to 3 visits a month.

Soldans is a fantastic pet store. My favorite thing about it is the funky toys and treats. I bought two boxes of adorable, mucky-looking white mice, and several mongrel mixes of curly tailed squirrels, and one yak. As you can imagine, my dogs absolutely adore them and spend their days chasing them around my condo. They have so much fun, and I'm definitely spending too much money on it, but my wallet and my dogs can only take so much excitement. The employees are extremely helpful and friendly. They are always willing to chat, and they are an excellent resource to discuss dietary concerns and medical needs. I would also love to hear from their employees, as I know from experience that they will take the time to explain things to me. They are the best at the kind of customer service that you would expect from a business. They are so excited to learn about products and will test them out before they let customers buy them. They seem enjoy chewing on the raw hides the most. My dogs love this store. The employees are very kind and will answer any questions you may have. My dogs absolutely adore the baggies, squeaky toys, and rawhide bones.

So much detail to pets! Great selection of all pet foods and very healthy happy critters and birds to choose from. I have never seen birds have such an open happy environment. We bought Russell, a 2 month old ferret! So happy with this store and the employees were sweet as well.

I love Soldan's. My husband gets the sunflower seed as we feed the birds. Great price on the 50 pound bags. I recently adopted a fur baby and have shopped there for a few new things he needed. When he goes for his spa days I plan to stop in to get him a special new toy.

My beautiful girl, Bailey, sheds so much, she wreaks havoc on our plumbing- it's become nearly impossible to bathe her at home, drain strainers doing nothing to prevent the mess she makes of our drains. It was then suggested to me that I visit Soldan's self-grooming service to bathe her in a tub that isn't mine, use towels and shampoos that aren't mine, and make a slight furry mess in a house that isn't mine (all very attractive ideas!). I took Bailey and instantly we were greeted with treats, pets, and directions on all of the different services the grooming room offered. Although she hated every single minute of it (when I told her "ride" and somehow that turned out to mean "bath"), I've never had an easier time bathing her in the elevated tub, with no strain on my back. It was a very pleasant experience and I will definitely be going back! There was a wide selection of shampoos and conditioners (or you can bring your own) and different brushes and such. Upon checking out, she received even more treats and attention after her traumatic experience. It was clean, cheap, and a very fun adventure! She was happy that we did some shopping while we were there, as well!

Soldan's has alot to offer , like the dog bathing area so I don't have to use my bath tub at home. They have a large variety of products from very small pets to large animals. Prices are comparable to other stores in the area. And pets are allowed in store.

Have over 40 years experience with all manner of pets. That being said not one pet bought from here made it past 30 days! Lizards, Frogs and Fish! The fish brought ick into a long established tank within 24hrs infecting the others and causing great loss. Yes treatment was given the very next day upon noticing.If the small creatures are any indication we are greatfull we never got larger pets. The aquatic side seemed it was selling out fast. When in actuality the fish have been discarded due to poor care and quality. A tank full of puffers empty within a few days (store did not have them in brackish water, workers didn't care when asked) A tank full of medium cichlids had fry that were being eaten alive. The Mother was trying to defend then and most her fins missing from attacks. When pointed out to a worker they had babies and should be separated, She seemed concerned called boss about it and was told" just let them get eaten weve got too many! The Rummy nose Tetras that they said had sold out...all 30 within a few days. After couple weeks some were in and they are the ones that brought disease. Likley the Rummies had been removed and quarantined and only a few survived and sold off to unfortunate customers. Tired of companies getting over on others! Will never spend another cent here. BEWARE of this place!

I perchance 6 glo Danfoss with 3 othe fish. Not only did I pay alot of money for them but I woke up to find 4 of ymthem dead, and when I called the store to request replacements, I was told since I purchased more the 6 I wouldn't r they would not replace them. I was not told of this prior to buying them . I will never go to that store again. The store is in midland.

Recently have been getting overcharged at their mount pleasant store. I have been a customer for 20 years. I went back to get my refund and the mgr has given me a very hard time. Recently I received a voicemail stating they would like to cut ties with me and to never come back. I will NEVER step foot in a soldans store again!!!!

I got my 2 guinea pigs here a couple years ago and love them very much. This particular Soldan's always has what I need and has been very ethical with their animals compared to other pet stores I have been to. I have been going here for years.

I bought a hamster at Soldan's in Midland, and not only were Syrian hamsters kept in the same cage, but they kept MALES AND FEMALES TOGETHER.So of course, my female gave birth a few days after I got her. Since she was practically a baby herself, she couldn't handle the stress of being a mother and ate all of them.I can't believe a pet store could be so irresponsible.

The place smelled like uncleaned cages and one lizards got out they didn't know it and I almost stepped on it. Caught has wait 10 min for them to find key to put the guy back..
