I gave the Thornapple kitchen five stars with a three-star atmosphere. The only reason why I gave the atmosphere a three-star is due to seating. If they threw booths in along the walls And maybe added an aisle of booths as well They would have a ton more seating. Sometimes you have to wait quite a while to get a spot. It's a breakfast is well worth it though! The Irish omelette is my favorite! And when I order crispy hash browns extra crispy I always get them the way I want them. It's like everywhere else I go and I ask for extra crispy hash browns I still receive them barely browned.

Great hometown place to visit. You could tell this place has a lot of regulars. Food was great. Our waitress Roxy was very friendly and accommodating. This will quickly become a go to for my husband and I as well!

We always order from the breakfast menu, and the food is always delicious! This is a great local restaurant.Our server was so great with our 2 little kids: she gave them stickers, brought their food out first, and even gave them a quarter for the candy/toy machines!

My husband and I usually come here for breakfast as a last resort. I honestly don't know how they are so busy. The place has gone downhill ever since they moved. The place has no atmosphere, even though they tried, but with no insulation, it just feels like you're talking in a gym. The waitresses are terrible at refills, and the whole checkout system is unclear. I also found a small piece of blue trash in my food the last time we were there, so that ruined my impression even more. The only thing they have going for them is they give you a lot of food for your money. I would highly recommend The Nook over this place any day.

You won't go home hungry! Food is plentiful! We will definitely be back!.The only problem I had was with the wooden high chairs.They were not clean and we had to look through 3 before we found one that the safety buckle was not broken or missing.

Visited for the first time Wednesday evening, it was amazing. Service was great, very friendly atmosphere, portions where HUGE which was awesome! Definitely plan to come here for your next savory hometown meal!!

Honestly the best service I've had. Food comes at a pretty decent wait time. Entirely affordable prices. Very fresh ingredients. Plenty of seating space. The server went out of there way to offer exactly what we wanted on the lunch menu even though it was breakfast. There was a freezer burned tomato. They immediately told me about it asked me if I wanted a different one and gave me a different one. They use lots of recyclable paper materials including the straws and takeaway boxes cups and so forth. Table is stocked. Restaurant is a small hometown business that's been here for over 20 years and withstood the test of time through covid and so forth. Waitresses support the local football team. Vaulted ceilings. Would recommend to anyone! Would give 10 stars if possible.

Decided to go here for my birthday lunch with my mom. I ordered a short stack with blueberries and 1 egg with sausage, wow, I was full. Everything was very good, mom ordered the dykstra special i think it's called and got a full order and it was huge lol she ate half and took half home. Our waitress gave me a free cinnamon roll, I appreciated it very much. I will go here again.

The food was very reasonably priced, the portions adequate, and presentation very nice. The baked treats and homemade bread are amazing! The restaurant could use some decor such as artificial trees and wall pictures to help absorb the loudness and create a warmer feel. I prefer separate checks, as it was very confusing and time consuming trying to decipher meals when some wanted to treat others. One server was less than pleasant which dampened an exciting reunion. :(

20 years I’ve been in and out of this place. I don’t recall ever having any issues. They are an institution and rightfully so. Service is always friendly. It feels just as a small town diner should. Price point is on target and portions are always almost more than you can eat. There have been some updates over recent years, including a following on Facebook announcing specials/special events. I depend on this place for my French toast fix, or bacon cheeseburger with seasoned cottage fries when I’m in the mood for greasy. Keep up the great work!
