This is silly, but it totally ruined my day. So here's your warning to stay away from this place. I returned bottles here with my husband, but I sent him to the car before I checked out. We even chatted with the bottle return lady. I was told at the check out-- by that same lady that if we're in the same HOUSEHOLD they will only allow $25 for payout from returns, it's not per person. I had $26.40. Funny, the conversation we had with this lady in the bottle room was about how someone put a bottle full of **** in their return machine recently. I WONDER WHY!This is not the first time I've encountered an employee like this at this Hardings store. It's too bad because it's one of the last old school grocery stores in the area. They obviously haven't kept the old school family manners that Hardings claims they will extend to you.To the bottle return lady: I hope that $1.40 was worth it to you. I'm pretty sure you deserved that special bottle that ended up in your machine. Gross service.

Have to change my review from 5 stars to 1 star.Roaches, visable safety violations, verbal abuse of employees while shoppers are shopping.Stopped in for some odds and ends. I'll make the drive to Hastings or Caledonia rather than spend another dollar in this store.Very disappointed and disgusted would give a negative rating.

I love this little grocery store. Stocked for everything I'm looking for and the staff is really nice. This is the place to go if you need a candy bar or a large turkey. They have it all.

Tonight I went in to get a few groceries ($91.44) and it was a complete joke! No milk stocked but you could see cases of it behind the cooler. Three cashiers and a couple stockers and no one could stock the milk. Guess they were trying to sell the few gallons of almost $6 Country Fresh milk vs the Our Family brand for $3.79. Ridiculous! Finally got a young girl to get some of us what we needed and when we asked why it wasn't stocked she said she was going on break so who knows. Prices are a complete joke and even tho some of their sales are good the other items are so high priced who can afford them! Maxwell House ground coffee $14 something for instance, $ 7.98 anywhere else. Bacon $10. Price gouging for sure! No manager around. Then I get to checkout and just because I jokingly told the cashier after she bagged two big glass spaghetti sauces and a 64 fl.oz creamer together in a thin bag that she didn't know me and I would likely break them before I tried to get them inside. Me trying to be nice about it, she then becomes rude and says really loud "Yes I don't know you" and precedes to pack the next bag so full of different items in a thin bag that there is no way of it making it inside my house as it was way too heavy. I was nice until then and I asked her why she had to be so rude when as an old person it is hard for us to carry heavy bags. She told me I could bag my own things. Her name is Amy. Also a bagger just standing around. It was like the employees were all mad and taking it out on customers. Last few times I have been there they have multiple cashiers even when it's not busy. Stockers or baggers walking around doing nothing and no one to bag at checkout or help take groceries out. When customers are spending this much on food in this store the least they can do is have decent employees and if they are that hard to find maybe pay more. Most of the time I like the employees but Amy obviously needs a different job. Customers shouldn't have to put up with rude employees with no common sense. UPDATE on 1/29/2024 I purchased chicken legs that were rotten and bacon also rotten. Store director does not care that they are selling bad food and employees have no say in anything so I will be contacting the Health Dept. Not the first time getting spoiled meat!!

I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN HERE AGAIN! I was babysitting a 13 month old baby girl and her mother wanted me to run a few errands to the store to get some things that she needed. As I proceeded into the store one of the workers had stopped me to tell me how adorable the child was and asked me what gender he was. Of course I told them she was a girl with a smile on my face. He proceeded to tell me that I shouldn’t decide the gender until they can comprehend and pick for themselves I WAS APPALLED!!! WHAT KIND IF STORE IS THIS!!! It is disgusting and after telling my family annd the mother of this child about the situation; they too have had negative encounters. As a Christian woman, they didn’t like me wearing my cross necklace. I turned around and walked out of the store. DO. NOT. SHOP. HERE. !!!!

Avoid the deli. Cole slaw purchased on Jan 27 was spoiled despite being dated with a sell by Feb 2nd. Fried chicken purchased in a prior visit was so dry it was inedible.

I went to this store yesterday looking to get some milk and had just come back from a church gathering and had seen they were out of milk so I asked a employee if there was any chance they could get some stocked from the back and they completely ignored me after looking me up and down and went to do something else. I would not recommend this store to anyone if you are Christian.

If I could give zero stars I would not only is this place over priced & vegetables and fruits spoil fast as crud. They discriminate against Christian’s. I’d highly suggest u not shop here if ur a Christian. My brother in law just got kicked out for being ( creepy ) because he spoke about the lord. But the only thing that’s creepy is the people that work there. I got judged the last time I was there bc I said that my baby was a boy and the cashier gave me a funny look & asked me why I didn’t let him choose. But instead of going off I left it alone maybe they should learn a few things Ig. This store is the worst I’ve ever seen! GROW TF UP . If ur intimidated then just say that 🙃

Absolutely ridiculous that your employees would ask for me to hold up my bridge cardIn front of everyone and also the fact that you wouldn't ask someone that's debit card didn't swipe anymore to hold it in the air for the numbers to be out in the world so why would you ask me to do so? Either or I will not be shopping there again I don't recommend it prices are high and employees are rude and management is any better way to discriminate Hardings "Family" Market

I purchased some ground pork and Boars head Tavern ham which is 12.99 a pound. The bagger put my raw meat with my ham. By the time I got home and unpacked, the pork leaked onto my ham. This should have never happened. Raw meat should never be bagged with other foods that can become contaminated. There goes my sandwich meat for football Sunday. Thanks Harding's!

No, they can't beat Walmart or Meijer prices, but they local, convenient and friendly and have a pretty good inventory for groceries, also try to keep the lines moving so that's a plus too.!, friendly staff

A very small supermarket. Doesn't have heart healthy foods majority of the time. A good market to go for main/basic items. Doesn't have a big deli. Not too busy for being the only market in town.

Staff are great, very friendly. Selection has improved and sales are better than before. Harding’s offers a good option for light grocery runs when you are unable to travel to Meijer or Walmart.

Love this store and the staff is super friendly. Prices were a little high but the store was really clean and tidy and I enjoyed the specialty items like home made jumbo baked cookies. Definitely will be back to do more shopping there.

I love the freshly made sandwiches at the deli. The store is always clean and customer service is always good. Hardings is one of the best grocery stores I have visited in Michigan.

Great store and very friendly staff as well as coworkers. Managers are so friendly, patient and very accepting of LGBTQ+, and will try to help you grow in your personal life as well as help you reach your goals ect. I am so grateful for this store for giving me a chance to be a staff member here but more importantly being a customer. 😊

So clean and bright. Makes D&W look dingy. Beautiful lettuce I couldn't get at Meijer or D&W. Glad we found this place! Fully stocked shelves which is something else D&wmW can't get a handle on.
