We couldn’t have had a better introduction to driving the dunes. Our machine was excellent, and we had a blast! More importantly, the employees are so kind, and really put in the time to make sure that you have a good time without getting yourself in trouble. As someone with very little experience, I got a lot of good knowledge and confidence from the safety presentations and especially the initial tour. We’ll be back!

First, the people that work here love what they do. That makes all the difference in the world.Second, be aware that there is a holding fee on your card for rentals. We didn't know about this, and for the 4-person rental, there was a $750 holding fee. We completely understand why, and they were extremely reasonable in having it in place as well as releasing the hold once we were back.The whole process is exceptional-especially for first-timers like us! The attendant at the counter was superb at walking us through the options, pricing, and general information. The educational video was extremely well done. The person that waited with us to go to the dunes and drove us there shared more information that was useful. Our tour guide at the dunes was fun, engaging, and a great guide and teacher.The dunes were fantastic! We had so much fun driving around and exploring this unique park.Tips: Absolutely protect your eyes. There is so much sand! And even if you aren't throwing sand around yourself, others will! SUNSCREEN!

Amazing time!! Amazing Staff!!Our main reason to vacation to Silver Lake was to ride dune buggies.I was very worried about not knowing the rules of the dunes, crashing into other people, or getting hit by other people while out there. We chose to go out on Monday morning to help with it not being too crowded.My worries went away when they informed us that a guide would take us around first and show us the dunes and explain the driving rules! He was awesome and our 2 hour rental didn’t start until after the tour was complete!!! I saw another rental company just pointing on a map and sending people on their way. I was so thankful for this tour, and didn’t realize they did it. Very helpful IMO.We had a blast and it was amazing views. Thank you,Tourists from Annapolis, MD

We had the best experiences with these folks! We did a sunset tour on Monday and it was very well done and tons of fun. Nice way to get acclimated. Then, we rented for a 2 hour session and they gave us another tour ahead of our start time to reacclimate since dune conditions change frequently. They were fun, professional, kind, supportive and amazing. Additionally, when on the dunes they have scouts out throughout the dunes just in case you need help or even a little encouragement. On the sunset tour, they took professional photos and shared the raw files also (nice touch!). Thank you for the memories! Great job!

This was an absolute amazing experience!!! We had so much fun experiencing the Dunes for the first time. The views were incredible, the atmosphere was awesome and the staff was hands down one of the best parts of the experience! Everyone was so nice and they really enjoy what they do and you can tell! Pictures don’t do justice to the experience. The service is exceptional. Everyone was so warm and nice. We were riding with a toddler and the staff helped to get the car seat properly fitted, got additional straps. The car seat caused delay and we could not start on our slotted time so they just adjusted the time based on when we actually started.

We did the guided sunset tour. It was a get way to see the dunes, have fun, learn how the whole thing works and where you can and can’t go, how the machines work and how to use them on the sand. Next time we will feel confident renting our own for the day. Thank you for a great time!

This is a company that has been around for a long time so you know they know their stuff. Their office staff was very friendly. The owner was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to talk with. The guide was amazing. He showed us the trails and how to operate our buggy. He even made sure we made it up the big big dune. If you are thinking about renting some buggy's make sure you rent with the BEST... Silver Lake!!!

We booked the sunset guided tour and had an excellent experience. If you are on the fence about trying it out. I say do it you will not regret it. Our guides were Terry and Jim they were wonderful. My wife, son 14 and daughter 7 and I really enjoyed it we will definitely be back.

The team here does a great job, and the whole rental experience was top notch. The only thing I was a bit disappointed with, is how low they govern the speed on these units. (We rented the Dune Rover) It made it very difficult to climb even the smallest side of the hills. Any time we'd hit around 28mph, it would kill the throttle and would not give any more power unless you let the speed drop down to around 20mph then hit it again. By then it's too late, you've lost the momentum to get to the top. It is expensive (Rental + Fees = around $500 for 2 hours) to rent these, and a little more mph, would result in a lot more bang for your buck.

This business was super easy to work with. Everyone was knowledgeable and friendly. From the call to the business to discuss the best options for our rental (thank you so much for suggesting the Teryxs for first time ORV drivers and the two hour window which was perfect!), to booking our rentals online, Steven helping at the counter, Mason driving us out to the site, Barefoot Larry for showing us how it's done, our driver taking us back to the office (sorry, I didn't catch his name), to the checkout process - everything went so smoothly. It was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Michigan and I would definitely recommend this outfit to anyone.

What a fun time! I appreciate the safety measures and the ability for staff to take their time and provide you with their knowledge and information before heading out on the dunes. The staff was also very friendly. Once out there, they also have staff watching the rentals to help out on anyone stuck or in my case, needing a second buggy as a bolt fell off from the buggy and needed to get a back up car. Well worth the cost and what a great time (did two hours)

Excellent customer service! The staff was very friendly and informative and they run that place like a well-oiled machine! 3 of us rented a teryx and it was very bumpy, but that is to be expected. My mom was very nervous and we appreciated them telling us where to go and not go and for giving us a guided tour first. Of course, the dunes were super fun to ride around on and the views were amazing. Lake Michigan was clear and beautiful that day too!

It was a little daunting to think about driving and navigating the dunes, but the staff at Silver Lake Buggy Rentals made it a breeze. My kids also loved meeting Squirrel, the company’s resident cat. Super fun morning at the dunes! The whole process of paperwork, safety presentation, and shuttle to the dunes was extremely organized. It’s was great to have the guided tour on the dunes before starting our two hours of riding on our own. The Teryx was awesome. We also loved that Silver Lake Dune Buggy Rentals was right across the street from Dune Town campground where we were staying. What a memorable experience!

We had a great time in the side-by-sides we rented. The entire staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and thorough explaining all aspects of the vehicles and how to safely navigate the dunes. The reservation process online was simple and the entire process was exactly as explained in the rental confirmation. We look forward to renting from SLBR again next summer!

Exceeded our expectation, everything went on easy on a light adrenaline. sunset views are a nice bonus to everything. I recommend it to everyone as it is something from another planet. Truck racing,laroplane flying over your head, a constant feeling of fear of capsizing and feelings of rivalry adds color to this place

First-timers. But we weathered the hills well. Recommend the bunny hills at first. Guild helped answer all questions. All staff our friendly and professional. We spoke to about 6 different people during the start to finish. Recommend 2 hours to start. Also goggles are a must plus a face mask. You get sand everywhere. FYI they have bathrooms and food trucks at the dunes. We liked the rover for 2 people. It has more power than the buggy for the hills. Will be back, we loved it!

Really fun! The day we went was chilly and the visibility was only about 50ft at times but that made it super super scary and extra exciting! But we only had to share the dunes with a few other people! We wished our vehicle could’ve made it up all the hills. We would definitely recommend this experience!

Silver Lake Buggy Rentals were SO GREAT! Even with my last minute booking and my dog they were able to accommodate ALL of my needs. Extremely dog friendly and great customer service. Silver Lake Buggy Rentals were great at explaining the safety procedures and how to trouble shoot any issues before leaving the drop off site and also made sure I got my 2 full hours of rental time even when we got a late start. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to have a great experience at silver lake sand dunes.

Let me start off by saying the employees here are phenomenal. And I truly mean that in every sense of the word. They were pleasant, knowledgeable, thorough, and very helpful. Special shout out to our guide... Can't remember her name but apparently she has been there many years and she was wonderful.I and my two adult children rented the four-person buggy. One minor complaint was that it is a little underpowered... Would have liked better acceleration and probably bigger tires... we were pretty limited with what we could do out there. It just seemed rather underwhelming given the price ($526 for two hours + 15 min tour). I understand they have expenses to cover, but the cost of this experience was roughly 30% of my upcoming 7 day/6 night all-inclusive cruise with airfare included.One major, MAJOR suggestion. In your 'what to bring' section, mention masks or handkerchief or some other mouth covering. Eye coverings are not enough. I swallowed so much sand. This seriously impacted the experience.That said, the dunes are absolutely incredible. I mean I was not prepared for how huge and amazing it was. What an odd and spectacular attraction in Michigan of all places. :)
