Paying customer asked to use the restroom. Was told to get "permission" from the ladies in the back. Well the one is unprofessional. Looked me dead in the eye and rudely said, "we don't have a public restroom." No public restroom at a hardware store? Cashier was slow and not very friendly as well.

I love this place and have been coming here religiously for 20 years. Somehow, they always have what I need, allowing me avoid wasting my day searching around the big box stores, and even better, everyone who works there is extremely nice and helpful. I always get assistance finding what I need. Today, they allowed me to purchase an already-assembled cart, saving me a lot of time, same price as Tractor Supply. In my opinion, things are priced very fairly. I'm a big fan of Neil's.

I have really enjoyed going to this hardware store. Sure the prices are a little higher, but it's much closer to me and the employees actually know their stuff. Last night, I went there for a few plumbing parts. The lady working the desk greeted me kindly as she always does and pointed me accurately to the right isle. An older gentleman helped me find the parts I needed and knew plumbing so well, he even gave me a better plan than I had originally come up with. It's such a night and day service difference between them and the big box stores. I very much appreciate their customer service!

Been here several times and the owner and the staff have always been pleasant to me. Helped me find what I needed in a timely manner. Do you spend a couple more bucks to shop here? Yes. But guess what that’s what it’s like dealing with a small store. Your trade off is customer service

Neils is great when you need something, but lately more and more things don't have prices, some things with price tags have the prices blacked out by a Sharpie and no new price added. Makes it hard to compare similar items when you are standing in the aisle.Overall, will continue to only come here in a pinch.

They are pretty helpful, but I did notice one thing that irked me. On the way in I saw their “no refund without a receipt” sign. Then when I checked out, the cashier never offered me a receipt. I didn’t bother to ask her to give it to me, because I know I will not need to make a return but to not even ask me if I want it is rude and sneaky.

Rented a tractor from them and will never come back. No one in the store wears a mask even on the floor helping customers that includes the owner. The owner of the store was very rude and made my experience with this store very unpleasant. Had an issue with the front tires going flat from the minute I took it to the site and the owner made me feel like I intentionally destroyed his tractor even after I explained to him the tire had gone flat when I received it. I cleaned and filled it when I took it back and they still changed me a fuel charge. Will never go back. I will be going back to Goggin for all my rentals. Was trying to support a local business but I will be driving the extra 15 minutes to the other side of Kalamazoo for a great experience.DO NOT RENT FROM NIEL’S IT A RIPOFF.

I love Neil's Hardware. Though under new ownership now, they have been and continue to be our hometown hardware for many things we need for our business. The fastener section can't be beat by the big boxers! Matter of fact, we will drive the 13 miles here before the 2 miles to either the "blue" or "orange" stores when we need something at home.

Normally love this place as they are so helpful. However, when I was there a few weeks ago, not only were 0 employees wearing masks, they were talking to each other about how they're not necessary, in front of me who wears a mask. Not likely that I'll be back. Menards can have my $.

Well I would say common sense is not found here. Was in there today, saw a guy walk in with no mask, asked if he needed one and was told "I don't need a mask" so I noticed they have a sign to wear a mask right on their door and questioned the clerk (older woman). I was then told "oh he's alright". What's the point of having a rule if you simply don't follow them? Makes you and your store look ignorant and inbred. On my way out I kept hearing "bye, bye" in a really snotty tone. So if you want to be part of the problem and help spread this virus then you should close or be shutdown. Better yet rid your cancer of a business from Mattawan!

I used to love Neil’s but the pandemic has definitely allowed them to show their true colors. Both times I’ve tried to shop there in the last 6 months, not a mask in sight on employees or patrons. They are also pretty condescending to women...if I go in alone they act like I have no idea what I’m doing and if I go in with my husband, I don’t exist even when we are there for my projects. Time to find a new hardware store.

NO MASKS worn by employees!! Every customer that was in the store had masks on, however none of the employees wore masks! This is unacceptable! I like to support local businesses, but I do not agree with it not being safe to shop there. I feel it is rude of them to possibly be spreading COVID to their customers.

Very perplexed to see absolutely NO MASKS on any employee at any time during three stops in the past two weeks, including around 1:00 today, Sunday, July 26. Their total disregard for others means we’ll be shopping elsewhere from now on. If you can’t show respect for yourselves and your customers, we’re done.

We love shopping locally but are really disappointed that no one in the store is wearing a mask. Unfortunately I will take my business elsewhere until masks are worn by employees. I went in on Monday Oct 5.

The mask dontnt protect you from nothing nobody does their research its 1,000 times smaller then a strain on that mask....thats why people not wearing maskFauchi ran the gain of function lab in wuhaunAnd owns the rendevavur medicineBill gates owns 2 of the 4 pcr test...in flordia they had to write legislation to stop spinning the test more then four times because after 4 times they all pop up positive..

Never going back. I've always supported small local businesses, even more so since the pandemic. No staff wear masks, no sanitizing, no precautions whatsoever. I won't support a local business that cares so little about their neighbors and customers.
