I get to the self check out and some items would not scan. I look for someone to help but could not find anyone. I went back to the self checkout and I look to the main register, look down on the floor and some young kid with colored hair is sitting on her or his ( I couldn't tell which gender, because you know in this day and age you can never really tell anymore and god forbid I say the wrong pronoun or misgendering someone because it would be considered a hate crime,) sitting on the floor on his, hers, they, them or whatever phone. So I say, hey, does anyone work here? Him, her, they or them get up and act like they, them, her or his was bothered. What is wrong people? America, get it together! It's not that hard of a job.

The dairy coolers are empty. No milk, no eggs, no butter. The other cools need attention. Food shelves empty. A lot of people like to shop at this location, if there were anything,food wise, to shop for.

As soon as I walked in I noticed that nothing looked the same as it looked the last time I visited this store. I immediately questioned myself on where I was thinking I was at a dollar general in another town. They have just remodeled this store and it's so much bigger and more room to move. I never wanted to go in this store before because it gave me anxiety. It was always messy and hard to find things . But now I give it a big thumbs up. Except for the employees I didnt recognize one employee and that was ok until I realized that they, yes both ladies working that night was absolutely , by far , the most uncooperative, and unfriendly associates ive ever encountered. All because they were closing in six minutes when I was checking out. But I didn't understand the digital coupon ordeal and had questions about my toilet paper 😂 and I feel like as long as u got six more minutes being open then u got six more minutes to make sure the customer. Is satisfied not going home. Confused. Needless to say I Just Don't when it comes to mattawan DG

The manager is rude, the parking lot is filthy as was self checkout...bags and trash everywhere...no hello, can I help you find something...no thank you, have a nice day...she just stares at you then looks away. And it's not just me. She's like that with everyone.I'll take my business to Paw Paw.Clean that place up...such an embarrassment to the Mattawan community.

Man after today i just stick with the pawpaw one there was no one at the register people were having trouble with the self check out and no one was around to help at all this lady was waiting there for more then 5 min trying to buy cough medicine!!! We even kept looking around for a bell for us to ring and nothing yall definitely gotta hire some more better people who dont leave there post!!

This store has been transformed! It is like a NIGHT and DAY difference from how this location used to be. I loved the updated floor plan with new self check out, and the place was sparkling clean! Best of all, a friendly and personable staff who aren't afraid to be real and laugh with you.

I haven’t worked there in a couple months and STILL have not received a paycheck. Manager keeps telling me that it’s my responsibility when I worked for HER, for a lousy 4 hours so therefore what’s the excuse for not paying me out of the drawer for that less of an amount? I just don’t get it and could use some answers cause authorities should be contacted. This is so unprofessional. Definitely don’t recommend working here.

I realise they are small, and can't have a massive variety, but ffs, not every customer wants "meat lovers" every offering, from refrigerated, to frozen, to canned. Marie Calendar's has Vegan versions of her chicken and beef pot pies, for the same cost. Carry them. Carry chips and snacks not coated in or stuffed with cheeses. You have decent priced. Beer. Woo-hoo.

Narrow aisles, dark gloomy interior, in perpetual state of disarray as though every day is inventory day. I wouldn't go there at all if it weren't for the friendly staff. And the fact that you're pretty much guaranteed to find what you need (but then, that's really all DG is there for anyway, right?)

The store is always a mess inside apparently they have no night stock crew so you are always stepping around carts and things on the floor waiting to be put on the shelves.but on the up side the people that work there are pleasant and helpful and in the world we live in today, its hard find pleasant or kind let alone helpful !!

OMG, this place has everything and such good prices. I was hunting for the "old style" of wash clothes, light weight and small. Sure enough, they have them. I shall return!

Long lines shelves weren't too stocked . I hate to leave a bad review during covid but its my honest opinion of how it was today. They needed more help in the store in my opinion.

What's most amazing about this store is that they have a little of everything. If you need a general grocery item or simple household item, they probably have it. Saved me a trip into town on many occasions!

One of the nicest stores i have ever been to. Very nice and clean and wonderful and help full staff the nicest staff member I've meet at this location is Lisa she is always so helpfull and friendly.

This Dollar General in Mattawan is a nice handy store to have around. The aisles can be a little crowded with merchandise sometimes , but the people working there are always very helpful and knowledgeable.

Stuff doesn't always seem to be in order in certain isles, especially the clothing and clearance isles. Other than that, great bargains for things one doesn't want to spend a lot on.
