Simple rental process, clean cabin, close to snowmobile trails. Really nice owners. Been there twice now, both times they were helpful and conversational. Will go back again for sure. Thanks!6 years later, I return to update that we have stayed here every January or February since, (8 times total) and the experience is equally easy and pleasant each year. It's rewarding to see successful small business owners determine their own solvency by being great consistently. We've stayed in 4 different cabins on their property, in groups as large as 10, and it's just a no hassle weekend every time. Highly recommend, and we'll continue to stay there annually.

Love this place, great cabins, great lake, our dog is welcome, and Bear and Tricia are great! We come back every year for our family vacation! Highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a great relaxing place to fish and swim during the summer, or a great place to ice fish in the winter....... no matter the season, this place is awesome!

Cabin #4 is beautiful!!! When my family and I arrived without reservation, the owners were very friendly and showed us around the cabins & property and fit us right in, no problem. When we had issues switching to our DVD player, the owner even came over and put it on for us and showed us how to work it. They make you feel welcome. If I ever come back this way, this is where I would stay again.

Very nice owners and nice grounds with great view of the lake. However, the cabin was dated and felt dirty; My husband dealt with a dead mouse in a trap immediately upon our arrival and mouse poop on the couch meant that we spread our own blankets on surfaces before sitting down. I slept in a sleeping bag on top of the bed because the sheets had little flecks of dirt, sand, and dead leaves, making me think they had either been dropped outside after washing or had not been washed after the previous guest at all.

My wife and I stayed at one of the houses in August 2021 for a week and enjoyed our stay. We live around the Grand Rapids area and brought our boat up which came with an assigned dock. The resort is very nice, well taken care of and clean . "Bear" was the best at pointing out the hot spots to fish on Lake Gogebic, restaurants to eat at and he gave us a tour of his well thought out bait shop. Bears bait shop and tackle has everything you need on site to make a good fishing day out of from minnows, leeches, and worms to lures, bait buckets, electronics and fishing rod/reel combos. The fishing was excellent and caught a lot of the biggest perch that I have ever caught in my life! We also caught some nice pike and walleye. Our stay was the best and my wife and I plan on making another stay in our future.Thanks again Bear and Tricia,Joe&BeckySaranac,Michigan

Cute lodging cabins right on the lake. They provided essentials which was nice, coffee maker, toaster, fridge, tv, DVD player, cups, plates and silverware. We stayed here to snowmobile so it’s close proximity to the trail head and other bars. They have a gas station and a little convenient store right on site too, which came in real helpful!

If you are looking to spend a weekend away from the crowds, I'm still looking for a place that could beat this. Been there twice in last 7 months, loved every moment of it.The cabins overlook lake Gegobic and the views are extra-ordinary. You could rent a pontoon boat at a fraction of price you pay in big cities. Stay is affordable and the cabins are tastefully done

We were really looking forward to our vacation at Bear's Nine Pines Resort and fishing on Lake Gogebic. We generally take a week's fishing vacation every other year as a family, so we know the risks of weather and hot/cold fishing. We ran into some issues with weather this year (we were there the week of July 9), but that's just how it is some years. When we checked in, we were impressed with the fish cleaning facilities and the hosts. We appreciated the tour of the grounds, things supplied, and a few helpful hints about the fishing and restaurants on the lake (there is little else in the area). The grounds were green and well-maintained. We looked forward to spending evenings at the campfire, playing horseshoes, tether ball, and swimming. During the day, we were able to enjoy much of this. The mosquitoes and biting flies in the evening made being outside nearly impossible at dusk. It seems that spraying would have been merited. Our disappointment came heartily in the cabin itself and helpfulness of the owners. We are used to rustic conditions, but the cleanliness of the cabins had us immediately cleaning things up. Again, the cabin itself was not the problem. General maintenance was the issue. We were taken aback at the mosquitoes that had been smashed against the walls and left. Crumbs from previous occupants hadn't been wiped up. Since our cabin was near the back of the resort, we tried to dismiss it as maybe being rented out less often and decided to focus on being outdoors, but my in-laws experienced similar situations and worse (They actually had a mouse sighting in their cabin and were denied a microwave due to wiring issues.) Despite spending a week at the resort, the owners never checked in on us. After a horrible overnight storm left our boat flooded and much of the lake without power, you might expect to have the owners check in on their guests. This was not the case. My husband spent nearly an hour scooping water out of his boat the next morning before he could get out on the lake. We were surprised not to find a pump available. Again, the owners did not check in on us. We ended up leaving a day early. We love the area, but will not be returning to Bear's Nine.

Excellent place to have a relaxed weekend with family and friends. The owners Bear and his wife were very courteous, helpful and welcoming hosts. Do not miss the boat ride here since you can rent the pontoon boat for entire day for only 220. Definitely will be visiting again.

Very clean and roomy cabins , Bear and Tricia are very nice and they have a really complete set up for you to enjoy a vacation . You can easily tell they take everything seriously and professionally . The office is it's own tourists stop all by it's self . Bear knows his stuff also . Thanks .

I have been here 6 out of the last 7 years and will continue to go back. The services are great with the cabins more then adequate. The bait shop that is on the grounds is always well stocked and self serve. I would definitely recommend staying here.

We made our reservations back in March. Paid the deposit and now we were all set to go. We received a phone call less than a week before the arrival date telling us that they doubled booked the cabin and they're canceling us. Threw an axe into our vacation and was forced to spend more money because of the short window for new plans...No I would not recommend

This place is great. Had a small two bedroom cabin last year and a larger one this year for New Years. Owners are amazing people. Would recommend this place to everyone I know who is coming to this area.

I'm very disappointed with Bear's Nine Pines Resort. I booked a fishing trip with them with my father in June. My father unfortunately passed away just recently. I understand deposits are non-refundable, they told me that they won't have any problems re-booking the cabin and they still won't refund deposit. They wouldn't let me use the deposit for any other weeks or weekend fishing trips.I'm very disappointed in them, that they won't work with me and that they would keep a dead man’s money. I thought, future customers should know this information

We rented a fishing boat with a 15hp motor.The couple running the show were great, very friendly & helpful. A great day fishing on a beautiful lake.. Too bad we only caught 1 smallie.

Small and out dated. Only a small stove type heater in main room. No heat in bathroom or bedrooms. Froze sleeping with door closed.
