This shelter really cares about the animals they rescue and finding the right furever homes. I was very pleased with the speed of reply to my inquiries and also the in-person advice/guidance when I recently adopted some kittens. All the kittens I adopted were either abandoned or feral on arrival at the shelter, but the kittens I took home are so friendly and social, it’s pretty amazing especially for the one that was feral only 6 weeks earlier. The staff even reached out to check in with me after our first days together, which was a lovely touch. All in all a great experience! Highly recommended for both adoption and for where your donation dollars could go.

I will always recommend and support this shelter! I adopted a kitten a few weeks ago and he's been an amazing addition! He's very social and playful, which is amazing seeing as he was raised in the shelter....it just shows how much love was poured into him from the workers and volunteers along with the others I met! The whole room was happy, playful, loving kittens! ❤️ the folks who work here and the volunteers work hard and are very friendly. I had a great adoption experience and will adopt again from this shelter in a heartbeat!

I adopted a dog that was an owner turn it due to a difficult situation. Eva Burrell shelter took the best care of her during her kind of long stay and even tried to help her overcome problems to make her adoption a success. She has been in my home for about 7 months now and has been happy and well adjusted from the start. I would definitely recommend this shelter to a friend. After I adopted, I volunteered there a short while and can say first hand that they care very deeply for all of the animals and take excellent care of them.

We recently adopted 2 Daschunds from the shelter and had a wonderful experience! Patricia kept us updated during the adoption process and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. Patricia communicated clearly and gave us good advice before we left. The shelter was clean and we could tell that Patricia and her staff really cared about the animals. Overall we had a really good experience with the Shelter and would recommend them to everyone.

I have been a supporter of EBAS since 2007 (back then it was called The Humane Society of Schoolcraft County) when I first learned of their organization. I live out of state but I make it a point to visit the shelter whenever I am in the area. I am always impressed with the cleanliness and how happy the animals are. I can tell they treat all the animals in their care as if they were their own beloved pets. The staff and volunteers are pleasant, knowledgeable and understand the individual needs of those in their care. Please consider adopting your next family member from EBAS.

Eva Burrell Animal Shelter is a dedicated place that works hard to make sure every animal that doesnt have a forever home finds one. I got my own two cats from an animal shelter and I recommend adopting because you know that the cats and dogs will forever be grateful to you for choosing them to join your family. Eva Burrell hosts many events throughout the year as well to earn money to support their animals that they care so deeply for!

What a wonderful shelter! The staff and volunteers take great care of the animals. They truly know the needs of each dog and cat and advocate on their behalf. I've been fortunate to adopt 3 cats from them over the years and they were honest and upfront about each of their personality quirks. This community is lucky to have such an outstanding and well managed shelter.

Exceptional service from this shelter all around. Passionate, caring, patient, thorough and super informative. With the option to visit by appt on saturdays and later hours one day a week. On the night of June 1st 2023 I sent the Eva Burrell Animal Shelter a message on messenger to let them know the news about the cat Pixie I adopted from there in 2005 that I renamed Mittens .well I messaged them to let them know that Mittens had Passed Away may 29th .well the person who answers their page got snippy with me and told me not to message their page. Completely uncalled for and rude.i will not be messaging them again.they don't have to get snippy on messenger and be rude with their comment .

I adopted a sweet girl from this shelter today and had an amazing experience. They made sure I had spent some time with the dog before making the decision to adopt and provided me with all the information I could have asked for. You can tell the staff is incredibly dedicated to finding the right home for their dogs and I couldn't be more grateful.

My parents and I were looking for a new family member (dog) to help make our family more complete, and I don't think we could have chosen a better location to go about doing so. The staff and volunteers at this shelter are nice and helpful, the dogs are pretrained to obey the common commands (sit, heel, wait, etc) and they have a detailed screening process to ensure the highest success rate for both the dog and family. It took us multiple trips back and forth with about three hours driving each time, but I don't regret that at all. Our new puppy is a loved member of the family and thriving. There's no criticism I can think to say about this shelter.

If I could leave zero stars, I would. This place is an absolute disappointment. If you, as a responsible and caring pet owner, happen to have your adolescent (read: curious and troublemaking teenage) canine take off in search of an alluring smell (such as roadkill), and have him picked up and taken here, you’d better be prepared to face rude and condescending staff.An employee nit-picked every single aspect of our misbehaving boy: his front nails were a little long, his collar was a little tight (it WASN’T tight, until it kept slipping off and he were forced to adjust it), he didn’t know how to “navigate the road.”Really?He’s not supposed to be on the road! You want me to teach him proper road manners when he’s supposed to be herding livestock and living his best life? Nope.Rude, unprofessional and downright nasty, the lady here seems to take her job a *little* too seriously and rip pet owners a new one whenever given the chance. I’m glad I picked my boy up, I think leaving him there with her was enough punishment in itself- I don’t foresee him taking off to spend time with her again.

We went to EB to adopt a fur baby.. We sat in the adult cat room for an hour or so to find just the right one.. They didn't want us really to look in the other room tho where the kittens were. We did find a beautiful and special 5 yr old female who had just been spade.. Wonder what her story was? Anyway she's the PURRfect lap cat and best buddy. We' were able to get her for free with the veterans program there. She did come home with a belly full of Worms, but took her to Thompson vet clinic and they fixed her up and EB covered the bill.. We are soo happy and blessed with sweet Bella.. ❤️

If you want to adopt a dog, they race to get back to you. Anything else, in my case filling out adoption papers for a cat, and asking status of papers a week + later....crickets. People who keep praising them, I'm guessing, are relatives and friends. There is no excuse to not reply to prospective adoptees. They took my $ donations and cat toy/condo/litter box and litter donations quickly enough when I moved here.

When you enter you feel like family. The volunteers and staff are cordial an informative. They ensure your experience with themis enjoyable and show you your desired pet. Just fill out a general questtionaire and be prepared to walk out with an animal you like.

Your donations.....and these people have MANY fundraisers.. go to training and homing pit bulls. They have NO cats and have had the same 5 dogs for months. They will blame this on CoVid as other shelters are helping ALL animals. Please think before giving money to them.

Dear Eva Burrell Animal Shelter in 2005 after I had to put My First Cat Shadow Down at The age of 6 years old since she had Lymphoma Cancer at her young age I was Devastated and had Realized that it was to quiet in My house I decided to Look online at your Animal Shelter to see if I could find a Identical Like her and I noticed that Pixie was Identical to her so I Made The Decision to get her in 2005. She Is Still with Me to this day.she is My Princess Mittens .she means The world to me on July 3rd 2018 I went to My Local Shopko Store down The Street from my house and had Bought her a very cute Minnie Mouse Placemats that says Budding Beauty It's a pink Placemat she Deserves to Be Spoiled like a Princess since she is The Queen Princess of our House. The staff didn’t let me see what dogs they had. Looked at me like I was crazy asking for a medium sized dog. Wanted me to fill a whole app out before even seeing what dogs they had. I didn’t like this place at all
