Great small town hardware store. Most often what ever common item you may need is in stock. I have always found friendly eager to help staff. They also have the lumber store part, and the rental part. I found the rental process very easy to use and had no issues with items I rented working. I have rented from them many times ( from tile saw to bobcat). Also very easy to get in and out if you need to. Place has more parking then one might expect for the small town small town hardware.

These guys are awesome. Our new generator went down and they have gone above and beyond so we could stay warm while we wait on the manufacturer for repairs. We can get just about anything we need here for our little property we are slowly building on. Just so thankful for the team at our local Gillroys!

They have help me and my wife out so much being new to this town. If they dont have it, they had made sure we could find it near bye if possible. One of the manager Shepard has gone out of his way to help even tho he didnt have too. He made sure the that i was got the help i need it. If i could give them a 10 star review i would.

They deserve extra stars. Five stars isn't enough. I needed deck boards cut on a Sunday afternoon. They had straight, bright boards in stock, and cut them down to the size I needed, even though they were minutes from closing. I needed screws and a drill bit and several other miscellaneous items, and I got amazing help finding everything I needed. The man who cut the boards for me, the lady who took me right to every item I asked about, the young man at the register, they were all great. Kind, personable, and know their stuff. This is what a hardware store used to be like, back when times were good. A++++++

Great Hardware/ Lumber yard. I was up working north of Mancelona over the summer for 3 months and stopped in multiple times a week for different materials and they always had what I was looking for. Great service and excellent selection! I’ll definitely be going back when I’m in the area.

Everyone here is so incredibly friendly. We called regarding a certain item and they pulled it from the shelf and had it waiting for us at the checkouts when we walked in. I thought that was awesome and absolutely helpful. I always have good experiences when I visit the store. Highly recommended!

I came in earlier this season with a problem with my hedge trimmer. Shep was available and took care of the issue, and showed me how to do it in the future. I will be back when in need a new chainsaw this fall. Great repair department!

Friendly and helpful staff. Good selection for a small town hardware store.It seems the prices are only a little bit higher than big box stores. By the time you burn gas to drive to Gaylord or Traverse City you may not save any money. I appreciate that they set pricing in a way that makes it easier for me to support a local business.This has been MY experience with things that I have bought. Your mileage may vary.

I needed to replace a water shut off under my sink and Shepherd helped me out tremendously. If not for him I would probably still have a problem with it. I went to my local hardware store and was ignored. I drove 14 miles one way get to your store and was not disappointed. Thank you very much.

This Gilroy’s is the best. The product selection is great, and the lumber yard is well-stocked. Prices are fair and definitely worth the convenience, rather than driving all the way to Gaylord or TC. Their tool rental services are invaluable. I’ve rented scaffolding from them regularly and it’s always cost effective and convenient!The staff are all very knowledgeable, friendly, and eager to help! Shepard and Missy did a great job rekeying for me recently. They rekeyed numerous locks alike, and made over 30 keys all within an hour! The keys and locks work perfect. I will always recommend these guys, top notch service every visit!

The nicest people, most helpful, i can only hope these independent places can survive against the big box stores and (Amazon). Every visit here is a positive one... There's always someone available to help, give opinions and advice on a product. And if they(rarely) do not have what you're looking for, they do their best to obtain for you.

I very much appreciated the service I received on my visit to Gilroys in Mancelona yesterday! I walked in carrying a dining room chair that needed stability. I was greeted warmly by Alice and Jessica working up front who called Shep, the store manager, over to help me. And help me he did! Corner braces were the answer, sold separately or in packages. Here is where the kind of service Gilroys offers excels! Shep used the chair to see if the brackets would work and they would but needed to be bent to a true 90 degree angle so he did that for me on 12 rackets and tested each one in the chair! Then he noted that the screws that came with the braces were to long for my chairs and he supplied shorter and a bit thinner screws (to protect the chair wood from splintering). The back legs of the chair (6 chairs in all) needed a different bracket and he supplied those. While he was working, he commented that his team at Gilroys were all managers to him and stated how lucky he was to have them as employees. I thought what it would be like if every place of business offered this kind of service, wonderful! Gilroys of Mancelona will always be my go to hardware store. Thank you all!!

I went into Gil-Roy's Hardware store in search of help for repairing a warped bookcase. Not knowing what to do, Dallas asked me if he could help. I showed him a picture of my "project" and told him what I had in mind. He VERY kindly suggested what I thought was a possibility, but would probably not work. He suggested another route which would possibly work. Not having any better ideas, I went with his. He found and helped me get the hardware that I needed.After I got home, which isn't far from the store, I realized I miscounted and needed more parts. I went back, found Dallas again, and without even thinking, he helped me figure out exactly how much of what I needed and picked it out for me.Dallas is possibly one of the friendliest and kindest customer service persons I've dealt with in a LONG time. Thank you for employing him.

I rented a master heater 155000btu I needed to heat a room up to 120 degrees I was told this will do the job the room was 10/20 7 ft ceilings room never go over 80 in 15 hr I called back today the guy sead he told me yesterday it shuts off at 80 dang liying he never seas that thay are deserving people into getting a sail this is wrong the public needs to no I wish this store had the same family values 5 years ago b4 thay changed hands

Mancelona hardware has always been Awesome! I've been going there for 30+ years, Always Super helpful with a great staff! I hope with Gilroys and some new staff they Keep up the great job! Dallas is very Knowledgeable and always a huge help when we go in.
