Cant say enough good things about this kennel. My 2 dogs are my absolute babies and i have a very hard time leaving them with anyone. Let alone a complete stranger when i am already out of my element being 3+ hours away from home. We were up in the UP for a snowmobile race my husband was racing in. We didn't find out until we were parking at the race that our dogs couldn't be there. So i dropped my husband off and left, trying to figure out what to do in order to still support my husband racing. I stumbled upon this kennel and reached out right away. Mind you it was a saturday morning around 9am. I got a call back maybe 30 mins later. They requested vaccination records which i was able to email over right away. and within a few mins of chatting i was heading that way to drop them off for "daycare". When i showed I wasnt worried at all leaving them. I filled out the paperwork and then headed back at their pick up time window and picked them up. The dogs seemed to have a great time and I was told they both did absolutely wonderful, which was surprising with the male having separation anxiety. I was told they are welcome back anytime and I will definitely be considering it again in the future if i ever find myself up there needing a dog sitter. I was also very pleased with it not feeling overpriced especially considering the area.

My wife and I were visiting Mac island for the day and needed a place to board our dog. The lady at TrailsEnd was amazing and our dog had a fabulous stay for the day. We didn't tell her, because we want to protect our dog, but he is a grand champion and comes from a bloodline of champions. My wife and I rarely board him and we check out the facilities with a deep background check. TrailsEnd had stellar reviews and we can see why. Our dog wasn't sure he wanted to leave...and he normally hates being boarded. If we ever head back there, we will board him again at their place. First class service and very friendly.

I'm very happy with Trailsend Kennel! My pup stayed 2 nights while we were in town for a wedding. Drop off was easy and put our minds at ease about leaving our pup. Carla listened to and read thru instructions I left. The kennel appeared extremely clean and well maintained. Pick-up was quick, with a brief summary of how our dog did. I would not hesitate to board with Trailsend again!

My parents had recently died and left me with their pets. I wasn’t able to being them into my house due to my pets “cats” had to leave them there couple of weeks. Rates were reasonable and the care…outstanding it was hard for me to get the Labrador to leave, lol. The owner truly cares for pets.

Ben the Poodle had so much fun spending the day at Trailesend Kennel! But really, the entire process was simple and exactly what we needed. The owner is kind and helpful and the prices are fair. Ben came back to us happy and ready for more fun.

We had our Lab Charlie stay overnight while we were ion the Island. This is one of the cleanest kennels we have ever had our dog stay at . The owner is so great with dogs . We will definitely be back !!!

Be sure to call ahead of time to reserve a spot. We decided to leave him at the kennel while we went to the island since the weather was so icky and cold. The owner (I assume it was the owner) immediately greeted me when I arrived and took my boy out to the play yard before putting him in his kennel. He seemed well taken care of and was happy to see me when I went to pick him up. The only thing I would mention is to send bottled water with your pup if they aren’t used to well water. For what it’s worth it’s extremely affordable. I will be recommending this place for anyone visiting mackinaw with their pups.

Boarded my 2 crazy dogs for the weekend, they came back happy and healthy. The place is nice with a good sized yard for the dogs to run around in and the lady working (I can't recall her name) was super friendly. Highly recommend

This is a great clean Kennel to board your animals in Mackinaw City. We love Karla and she is great with our 2 dog children. She makes sure they are comfortable and understands there personalities and if they need something. She is definitely a dog person. I would recommend this kennel.

We've been using this kennel for over 20 years, this kennel is extremely clean and well managed. The care from Karla is outstanding, we always feel like we're leaving our babies with a family member. I will drive over an hour and a half to use Trails End, and I have other options closer to my home. Highly recommended..

I have worked for kennels and vets, and this is a clean, comfortable spot for your pet while you travel. Dogs are set up in large indoor/outdoor runs; and there is a spacious fenced yard for free play. Karla primarily cares for dogs but she accepted my cat on short notice and set her up in a large, airy cat cage (4ft tall) with climbing shelves lined with fleece -- I was very happy to leave her there, tho she was the only cat in the place! Don't hesitate to use Trailsend Kennel!

Our dog stayed overnight and one full day. He seemed happy when we picked him up, and like his usual self. From the way Carla talked about him, she’d spent time with him. I’d be very comfortable leaving him with Trails End again!

I went to visit this business to check it out to see if it was good enough for my 2 rottweiler so we could bring them with us next year, and it was. I would have no hesitation leaving them with this business. The place was clean, in the woods, and 1 on 1 attention. I talked to the owner and I will bring them here next time, and I am very fussy where they stay and who is watching them. Top notch orginazition

It is a very unprofessional place. They didn' t call me back to tell me that they didn't have a room for my dog. I got there, and I found out that there is no place for my dog. I missed my ferry, and I had to take my dog to a different kennel in St Ignace. It was a much nicer place and the hours were better.
