It wasn't busy when we came here so the service was fast.Had a BBQ burger here and it was really good. It comes with chips but we upgraded to fries at the price of $4, which were not great. I think because it was slow, they must have been sitting for a bit. Maybe if it's busy, the fries would be more fresh. Not a big deal, the burger more than made up for it.

This was alright. There isn’t a lot of space - which is part of the charm, you sit close to your neighbors and really partake in their conversations! The food is exactly what you would expect, kinda greasy spoon stuff. There is a mound of bacon sitting on the grill waiting to be shoveled on to a plate. The pancakes are as big as your head.The service was good, not quick but not slow, the price is exorbitant even for the island.

Patty is delicious and the cheese adds a good depth and contrast to the dish.Note breakfast items are not served during the lunch period so come for the morning slot if you want to try their breakfast items. Place is really popular and a queue will start to form from about 15mins prior to opening time. For bigger groups there's 2 tables that accommodate up to 5 people so do come earlier.

This is not a hold your pinky out while sipping tea place, this is an honest to goodness breakfast diner. It's really small but they are fast. You can watch all the cooking from the bar easily. The people working were fast and efficient like a well oiled machine. The food came out fast considering how busy they were. Crispy hash browns and bacon, good coffee. If you drink coffee the special is a good value. A great diner for breakfast.

This little diner on the island is absolutely delicious!! The entire family loved it. Quaint too. We went twice on our 3 day stay. Breakfast & lunch are awesome! Get that early, cause there is a definitely a wait for both breakfast & lunch.

Simple yet yummy fare. Come in and seat yourself. Get here early, though, or you'll be waiting in line. Had the cinnamon yesterday and the Old Number 6 this morning. Both were delicious. Recommended.

It is my families first vacation to the island and we have 14 of us! Not only did they get us seated right away, but they also had such GREAT ENERGY and expediency. She got our orders right away and the cooks had their hands flying. We got our food in record time, had excellent (and fun) service, and the food was incredible. None of our burgers were overcooked. The Snake burger is awesome. Thank you for being great! Will definitely highly recommend and refer.

Had an amazing breakfast here! We all had the corned beef hash and it was easily some of the best we've ever had. They make their own corned beef in house, and you can definitely tell because it's so fresh and delicious. There was a line out the door when we got there around 10am, so be sure to leave yourself plenty of time before they close at 11 for breakfast. They shut the doors right at 11 so if you aren't inside by then, then you aren't getting breakfast.

Not really all it was cracked up to be but it was good. My husband and I ordered a cheeseburger, the rattlesnake burger, and mac n cheese. The burgers were good and served on pretzel buns but the mac n cheese was a complete joke. It was $4 for maybe a 1/2 cup serving of, literally, Kraft mac n cheese out of a box. I should've asked for a refund. I personally wouldn't eat here again.

My kids and I had lunch here twice because they loved the vibe of the place so much. They wanted to sit at the counter and watch the cooks prepare the food and LOVED the music. The cooks were amazing.When it came time to pay for our meal, and I pulled out my credit card, they said the machine was down and pointed me in the direction outside to go get cash. The ATM machine across the street was not working and I came back in and told them so. I asked them to write down my number and run it once their machine was up and running again. Magically, they pull out their square credit card machine and run my card. Ok cool, problem solved.The next day my kids had so much fun here, they wanted to come again so we did. Before sitting down, I confirmed that their machine was working and this wouldn't be an issue again. I was told "it'll be fine", and we have another wonderful meal with great ambience.When it came time to pay, this older stern woman told me the same story "our machine is down and go across the street to get cash". This seems odd that this is not something that is told to the customer before they sit down. This is a problem with "their business". Instead, this place makes you run around to 2-3 different ATM machines around the downtown scrambling around to look for cash, paying for ATM fees. How did the girl run my card just the day before?I would have been completely fine if they told me before we sat down and we could have gone to a different restaurant. They did it on purpose, and seems incredibly dishonest. Sorry to the rest of the staff that is working so hard for customer service.

The Chuckwagon Restaurant was possibly the best food I have had on the island. A small space especially due to limited seating with COVID-19. That being said the tasty food delivered more than expected. I would definitely recommend The Chuckwagon for a burger and chips. The Mushroom and Swiss burger was just what a burger should be. We visited later in the week for breakfast. The Chuckwagon does a great job with the morning meal.

I saw the great reviews for The Chuckwagon on Google Maps and mentioned the place to my brother while we were walking around Mackinac Island. A stranger walking by overheard me and said, “The Chuckwagon is the best breakfast on the Island!” So we decided to go! We had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated because we had a party of four but the wait staff was great about continuously coming out to the line to announce what they had available. If you’re by yourself, a party of two, or willing to split you party into two’s, you’ll be able to be seated much more quickly. I had the Corned Beef Hash and Eggs and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this dish if you are a corned beef fan. I thought the prices were much better than some of the other restaurants on the Island especially considering the quality of the food. The wait staff was friendly and it was evident the entire staff was running a very efficient ship. If I could give more than 5 ⭐️ I would! A special shout out to the stranger who encouraged us to go. One of the best breakfasts I have ever eaten. Thank you Chuckwagon!

They say the best form of advertising is a line out the door. If you are lucky enough to arrive when there is no line, RUN IN!Outstanding breakfast food (slow roasted corned beef for the hash, yum!) and great service in a small breakfast diner where everyone feels like family. Hard working staff is friendly, helpful and fun. Great music too.

It was quick service. The waitress was friendly and helpful. The food was out quick and hot from the grill. I had the best grilled cheese ever. I recommend the granny grilled cheese. My husband really enjoyed his patty melt.It’s a small dinner and was a little intimidating at first with cozy close seating. The staff was very welcoming and made it a fun atmosphere. We will try to pop in for breakfast before we leave tomorrow.

The girl working the counter was super nice and chatted us up about our trip.We had lunch but heard from two other couples in there that they have the best breakfast.

Worth every penny! So friendly, so fast, and so good! We split the Tex Mex burrito that was full of veggies and enough for two, but we got a stack of pancakes to split as well anyways cause why not. They were not bad at all, just not remarkable. The coffee was great and the food was out much faster then expected.

A very small restaurant, but they definitely know how to make it work. We arrived just before a long line started. I have to say it was one of the best burgers I have ever had. Suggested that you set at the bar where you can watch these guys do their magic.Kid-friendliness: Kids will love their kids' menu. This is on the island, so don't worry about parking. Just how long will you stand in line. Kids might get bored,but you can get food to go and take it to the park just down the street.
