We were disappointed with the quality and freshness of the in counter products (chocolate covered peanuts and raisins, and sea salt caramels)... as compared to their own pre-packaged mass produced retail products as well as other Mackinac Island confectioners. We expected much better products buying direct from a Sanders store. The comment: seemed like they just took the product out of the favtory package and put it on display as if bulk fresh made. Sorry!

We had a couple of blueberry affogatos and one of their "coolicious" Mackinac Fudge coffee drinks. They were delicious! We would definitely get them again, and did opt to get a bag of the blueberry coffee, which came with a free slice of their blueberry chocolate fudge. The blueberry coffee went great with the blueberry cobbler ice cream, and was also good on its own - the flavor isn't as strong as some other blueberry coffees I've had, but it's present and not overpowering.Overall, it was pretty busy, but we didn't have to wait long to be served and we were happy with the items we got. The only thing that would've been nice is if there was somewhere to sit in or near the shop; we had someone with mobility issues in our party, and we ended up having to cross the street to find a bench they could sit at to enjoy their drink. However, the shop is on a pretty busy corner, and there's not a lot of extra space inside the store, so I can understand why they wouldn't want people to linger at tables.

Too bad for me.. bought fudge elsewhere as didn’t think Sanders was known for it like other places on the island. Went in to get a hot fudge sundae (Sanders has the BEST hot fudge for sure), and on the way out, the fudge maker handed me a piece of the fudge he had just made… (so nice!) …. In my opinion ….. the best! Flavor is more complex and superior to the big names in town. You should try it! 😋😋. Yum!

Average ice cream, and a good idea to bring cash. Flavor selection was decent, but I have had better tastings of mint chocolate chip and chocolate peanut butter (after I purchased it; they didn’t allow taste tests). The staff was very nice, but they had lost connectivity to their WiFi (I think) and we had to pay cash. Fortunately I had some, but we didn’t know until we were checking out. To be fair, they didn’t know either and were apologetic. Just be aware!

Sanders has always been our go to spot for ice cream on the island but our visit last week was very disappointing! The staff were clearly not happy to be working there. They no longer will offer samples of ice cream. Without a sample I asked about one and the employee was honest that it wasn’t good. The mom in front of us ordered a single scoop cone for A kid and received a tiny bit of ice cream (no where near a full scoop). She was notably surprised by its size so the employee asked if she wanted a double. The 2nd scoop was much larger and was still charged for a double scoop. Very disappointing experience.

Wonderful ice cream but be careful when you order. They gave us bigger cones than we ordered and it ended up costing us a lot more money even though we specifically asked for kids cones twice.

Great ice cream and fudge! We walked in and there was a long line but they were really great about helping everyone and still moving the line quickly.Special props to Sarah & Lilly who went out of their way to make us special hot chocolate drinks with caramel that were fantastic!

Hands down THE best fudge on the Island and in Mackinaw City! The flavor is so smooth and delightful. Have had so many to compare in my lifetime.....hate to say it, it's better than my Mom's too! It's incredible! Highly recommend!

I loved that they had one Sanders ice cream that I could build my bumpy cake hot fudge sundae with. I do wish they were more generous with the hot fudge though.

I went there spent $23, my baby, sister and I both ate 2-3 pieces of the Carmel apple we go to grab another piece and there is blue mold all over the top of the Apple!! We already ate the whole apple! The girl even cut it up so why didn’t she throw it away and not give it to us it was right on the top so noticeable. I went back in there and told them that there is mold and we ate it and the girl with black hair and glasses didn’t say anything like I’m sorry or I can refund you. I’m very upset I spent so much money and fed it to a baby and there was mold on it!

We went to Sanders because they had shaved ice!! It was a warm day on the island and we had just finished the 8 mile bike ride around the island. We didn't want ice cream because of the dairy and this place had the best shaved ice on the island. It was the best thing to eat after being so hot.

The guy making the fudge was fantastic and gave us a piece of German chocolate while waiting out the rain storm. He was so kind and actually made it the reason we bought some goodies! Yum!!! Best fudge shop around.

The employees were very very rude to us when we were asking questions. We wanted a small portion of ice cream in a waffle cone and the girl very snotty told us that is not an option and in order to get a waffle cone we have to buy and pay the price of 3 scoops. 1 person did not get ice cream in my group because of how rude the employees were. Then the ice cream wasn't very good quality and had ice chunks in it. We paid almost $30 for 3 smalls and they barely got ate. Ridiculous. Don't go here!

I understand everything in the island is more pricey but for 2 iced coffees (plain black) you are charging me $14.73 that is a ripped off. Shame on me for not looking correctly at your sign.

Didn't have any fudge this time visiting but I did have their sherbet which was delicious. I love that they stay open later for the people who stay overnight on the island. They even reopened after the fireworks display on the 4th of July. Nice job!

Worker on the island here!I always get myself their caramel coffee, and it's SO good! Always fresh tasting coffee, and the caramel, butterscotch, and whipped cream make it so gooooood!Their chocolates are also very good, and their cinnamon rolls are to die for!

Omg I love this place. It smells so freaking delicious! We got some sea foam and dark chocolate sea salt caramels... so delicious!!! Everything in here looks great..I had a hard time making up my mind lol. You can also get milkshakes and smoothies, which looked super good as well. Will definitely be back!

Staff is super friendly! Fudge is very reasonable one slice for $8.95 or two for $16.95. They have a wide variety of fudge and treats for the whole family. Also ice cream, coffee and smoothies. Smoothies however are not real fruit. Its more like a slushi.

The service on the fudge side of the store was great. The employees were just so friendly! We weren't planning on buying fudge, but I'm glad we did. I wanted to get some just because the employees were so good to us!

There was a poster behind the counter that said "buy two slices of fudge, get a large bag of popcorn for free". When we asked about it, the employee said she had never heard of it. We asked her to ask someone else, who also didn't know about it. They asked the manager who said it was old and "we don't really do that anymore". I told her they should honor it or take it down, she couldn't ever give me a straight answer and started ignoring the topic. The fudge was fine but the service was poor and we had to wait for a while. Had much better experiences at the other shops, especially Joann's, which had EXCEPTIONAL customer service.
