Visiting this fudge shop was a highlight of our trip to the island! Watching them make the fudge in the large granite slabs was fascinating. The fudge itself was quite delicious - highly recommend the double chocolate espresso flavor!

Favorite fudge on the island, it has the best consistency out of all we tried and the service was great.No matter how busy they got they had a good attitude and that means a lot.They also give you a better deal when you buy more than 3 bars. I recommend the dark chocolate and the butter pecan.

This place is in the most beautiful island in Michigan,:). Their fudge are awesome. Gives a good feeling if you are there when they are making those fudge. I think the fudge making is the most beautiful work anyone can do. But yes, it's tough and time consuming. I think I tried 30% of the falavored or different fudges. I preferred mostly chocolate based ones till now, rather than the others. Chocolate, dark chocolate, and sea salt caramel were my main pick. I'm not saying others are not great, just not into those flavors. Go ahead and try. You will love them. I wish there were some, which combines ground coffee, chocolate, and 15% dark chocolate together. This would smell awesome.Wheelchair accessibility: It is accessible.

Murdick's is a MUST STOP for me as a Michigan resident. Every time I go to the island, I get at least 5 different kinds of fudge and a brittle. Their fudge is soft, rich, decadent, and made fresh daily. Their brittle is absolutely delicious as well, I usually get the pecan. They also ship, so if you can't get it from the store you can order it online!Kid-friendliness: I think this is a great place to bring kids. Very candy shop-esque and sometimes they're making the fudge as you go through. I loved going there as a kid, and still do as an adult.

Got 3 types of fudge and some salt water taffy. The fudge was alright. Chocolate fudge wasn't the best but the peanut butter fudge was delicious. The fair water taffy was horrible. Stuck to the wrapper no matter what the flavor and the flavor wasn't good.For the price, I wouldn't spend my money here.

Best ever peanut brittle!!! Nuts not stale, caramel perfect thickness and sweetness. Not a jawbreaker! Also bought 3 types of fudge but haven't tried those yet. Glad I waited to get Murdick's than other shops'.

Excellent fudge and it’s the original fudge shop on the island, not an imitator. They make it in front of you on marble slabs and have 12-15 different options for fudge. The staff were super friendly as well. If it’s your first time on the island, it’s a must-try!

So many choices! Fudge here tasted very nice and does not go bad for longer than what they say. It is fun to watch them make it live in front. I found it to be a tad expensive and takes a while to order because of all the crowd. Nonetheless one of the best fudges.

Ordered 2 3pc box,very disappointed,bought the turtle,butter pecan and peanut butter,the turtle and butter pecan were both dry and hard around the edges,not soft and creamy at all,have not tried the peanut butter yet but very disappointed,I bought these as christmas gifts and to say that I am embarrassed is a understatement,I should have stuck with Z Ciolotti.

I really wanted to try fudge .. we tried in that famous shop Murdick’s.. n for $12 not sure if it’s worth as well or not .. 1) it’s too big , me n my husband couldn’t finish even half together.. way too sweet .. May be that’s how it is but ,I’m not a sweet tooth so , a no from me ..I wish there was a smaller version for $3 just to try it out ...

That's some good fudge!Michiganders were telling me to try the fudge on Mackinac island. This fudge company's fudge is really good. I had the Mint Chocolate.Warning: Don't taste before dinner, one piece is just not enough.You WILL fill up on chocolate

Good fudge but not as good as Joann’s. Found this fudge to be a bit more gritty when we like a smooth, silky fudge. Wasn’t able to sample the ones we wanted to buy, only what they had on sample at the time which was chocolate peanut all weekend. No samples of the peanut brittle either to compare to other places.

Generally the staff at most places on the island are very nice and even on the busiest days will go out of there way for a customer. As a returning resident of the island I can say there is only the highest level of service at most places. I won a 1/2 pound of fudge after placing in the lilac festival 10k and swung in to pick it up before I left town. The store wasn't particularly busy but I was immediately rushed by the girl that was working with me and when I asked for just regular chocolate fudge she slammed a box down on the counter through a piece of fudge in and shoved it across the counter without a word. I work in customer service and hope that I was the only person treated that way today. Murdick's is a great family owned company on the island but I recommend the look into their customer service.

We stopped at the Original Murdick's while we were on Mackinaw Island. I was a little hesitant because I am very picky when it comes to fudge. We bought the chocolate peanut butter, cookies and cream and peanut butter fudge. The fudge was very creamy and soft. It is the best fudge we've had in a long time.

We visited a few fudge places on Mackinac Island and this place was good. Lots of selection to choose from. I would recommend the chocolate caramel sea salt or chocolate cherry. The mint was the weakest.

Stopped in at the end of our day on the island. We were treated as an inconvenience even though there was still another half hour left of their day. Of all of the shops on the island this is where I chose to spend my money but did not even receive a thank you, just a bad attitude and poor customer service. I'm saddened that this store has become this considering it was featured on CBS, apparently as a fake showcase of how they really treat people.

Went 3 different times since last summer and even though there were different employees, we were treated very rudely every time. The owner herself is extremely rude and needs some serious training in how to treat people. Will not return because after that many times it’s a Murdick problem. Bad leadership results in a poorly run establishment. The sample was not fresh and you are not allowed to try more than one and it is whatever they select, usually. Even if you can only try one sample, allow people to try one of their own preference as a way to determine if they want to purchase an entire slice. It wasn’t always like this. Do better. The whole experience and demeanor of the staff ruins it. Sad

My favorite sweet of all time is the fudge from here! About as good as it gets! The cookies and cream fudge is my absolute favorite, they have a chocolate cherry that is very good to. Also a Carmel one that is super good. The store always smells so good. You can watch them make the fudge during the day to. I think I'm going to order some on-line right now. Definitely recommend if you are going to makinac island ! 10 out of 10

Chocolate fudge tastes like Texas sheet cake frosting. So damn delicious. We also got the peanut butter and butter pecan, both just as delicious. Mom walked out with 25$ worth…. Would have been alright with free samples from every fudge shop every 2 stores… oooope 🤫

The staff is friendly and we enjoyed watching the gentlemen making the fudge. One of them was very attentive to the children who were clearly wowed by the fudge-making process. He also answered a couple of questions from me. Fun place with great fudge!

We purchased a piece of fudge from this location late in the evening. When we got back to the room, we tried some and it was hard. So we went to the store the next morning to get a refund. The staff was extremely rude and did not want to refund the money even though their website says that’s what they will do. Finally, they did, and then the employee slammed the fudge into the trash can. Poor customer service.

Choosing this over Ryba’s feelings like picking American over Lafayette. Both are amazing yet slightly different. Maple bourbon pecan is bussin’ as the kids say. These fudge shops really make the island great.

I picked this store as it is the first fudge store that was opened on the island in 1887, and got slices of Double Chocolate Caramel Sea Salt, Turtle, and Butter Pecan. All of them were creamy and flavorful and obviously, very sweet. A bite or two were more than enough to satisfy my sweet tooth. Personally, I would have loved for the fudge slices to be smaller, preferably bite size portions that could be assorted and purchased - this way one would get to try more flavors while limiting their sugar intake.😅

Never going back. Mediocre fudge, at best and I was treated rudely (I was the only person in the store, and I had only asked for the pricing, so it wasn’t like I was being obnoxious or holding up a line.)The fudge they gave me was old and hard as a rock. It actually broke the little spoon they give you to eat it. I nearly threw it out, but it had been expensive, so I took it home and melted it over some ice-cream. It was grainy and left my mouth feeling dry.After I went to these guys, I crossed the street to Rybas. There, the service was friendly, the fudge was fresh and so creamy! Best fudge I ever had!!!Skip the “original”… the name is all they have going for them.

The fudge is said to be the best by everyone I know. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. I recommend going here if you're visiting Mackinac Island and want to get a sweet souvenir.
