Great location close to the ferry, and the bikes were in excellent condition. The free water was certainly needed during the trip around M-185. All the employees were great to work with. My only complaint was that the pricing seemed high. I rented 3 adult bikes with a basket, I child bike, and a tagalong for just under 3 hours and cost me $260. Although the price was steep, the ride around the island was amazing.

Love them!!! We knew we got to the island later in the day than most...they were the only ones that would rent to us at 7pm. Another shop next to them would not rent to us because they were closing at 8pm. This bike shop also was closing at 8pm but had no problem renting to us for just the hour and also directing us to a couple main places on the island we could see in that time frame. We were SO grateful for their help and letting us explore, even if it was just for a little bit. Bikes were great, service was beyond great. Highly recommend.

We had a great time riding bikes around the island after renting them at Mackinac Island Bike Shop. It was a really busy summer holiday weekend but they kept the line moving and were quick at getting us on our bikes so we could go explore the island. The bikes were in great shape and the staff was super friendly (even in the heat and mass of people on the island). I would highly recommend renting from them.

The bikes were well maintained and had everything you needed for a ride around the island. They came with a basket, a bottle of water and a holder for your phone.Completely worth the cost, especially if this is a one time visit to the island!

A great way to visit Mackinac Island! Prices were very reasonable and the adult comfort bike was perfect for getting around. The helmet selection was very good and they even provided a free bottle of water (although it was spring water, not purified)

They were priced about the same as every other bike rental on the island. There were lots of bikes to choose from. We biked around the entire island and made several stops within 2 hours. Staff was very friendly.

10/10 experience! We asked a local what the best bike shop on Mackinac Island was and he told us to go to the Bike Shop as (apparently) they have the newest and best maintained bikes on the island.The bikes my wife and I used were great. No issues.Bike rental came with a bottle of water and map which was nice.We were told we needed to have bikes back by 8:55 PM.We had them back by 8:53 (lol) so we really appreciate the staff's willingness to accommodate.Next time we need to rent a bike we'll be going to the Mackinac Island Bike Shop.Full video of our experience on YouTube @HobartsAbroad

Exceptional experience. Bike quality perfect for what you need and pricing inline with rest of island. Charge once you return so true cost based on only the hours you used. Insanely curtious staff, made sure bike fit you perfect and offered all options including basket, helmet, bottle of water, map all included in rental. Best way to explore!! [Highly recommend the trike - super flat ride around island exterior and lets you soak up the views!]

My husband and I decided to rent bikes with my 4 year old, and 18 month old. Initially the staff was very helpful and ready to make the sale. We bike regularly as a family and thought it would be fun to do in the island. My youngest daughter burst into tears as soon as we placed her in the trailer. Multiple staff members told us to just ‘take her anyway’ as she was sobbing. We tried to cancel my bike and the trailer and the salesman refused, again, telling us to take my scared baby anyway. I argued the point we hadn’t even left the lot yet. Begrudgingly the salesman refund the bike and the trailer after his own temper tantrum. My husband and older daughter continued to bike for an hour and half with no further issues. I will not be going back and don’t recommend renting if you have unpredictable kids. Customer service fell apart as soon as the price went down and I ended up being disappointed by the pushy salesman.

Was traveling with my son (6 years), I brought my bike and a bike trailer for him. I needed a hex key to tighten my back wheel. I asked for service in this place, although they had dozens , they said the person in charge of the business would be so mad so they could not help.Finally, the firefighters helped me!Hope the island offer more options and free competition, so this kind of business and people improve their behavior.

Absolutely fantastic! There are 1 million places to rent a bike, but very few of them will take the time to tell you exactly what you need to know to get the most out of a beautiful day. We are business owners ourselves, and feel that this place is Run 100% the way a modern business should be. God bless you guys

We really enjoyed renting two tandem bikes. The staff was friendly and helpful. The bikes (especially the seats) were comfortable. The basket and free water was a nice bonus. We’d stop here again!

We had a great agent helping us when we stopped to inquire, and he was still there when we returned after lunch. He was funny and helpful. My only complaint would be that the seat felt too high and the person helping with that wasn’t very interested in adjusting it. Overall a good experience.

We rented bikes from Mackinac Island Bike Shop the second day on the island. It was a busy day and the check-in process was about average. The return process was the horrendous part and the employees took the bikes back without questions (we returned the bikes a minute or two apart). Long after we left the island, I received a message that indicated our returns were not received. I spoke to the the manager of the store to clear any confusion and he seemed to have no idea of the fact that the employees acknowledged the bikes and raised no questions before. Furthermore, he stated a pricing mechanism that was different from what his employees mentioned (billing every 10 minutes as opposed to every 15 minutes the attendant mentioned before). Finally he charged me rental for an additional 10 minutes for the bikes (returned within a few minutes apart), charging me 20% more than the final invoice. This business almost seems like a scam and they seem to not care about customer care. Renters, use caution before using their bikes.

Ruined the trip! Refused to rent mobility scooter due to light rain. Website does not warn you of this. I have travelled extensively and rented mobility scooters at destinations and rain covers are provided, but weather has never been a reason to refuse the rental. While suggesting to the manager they update the website information I had the pleasure of being mansplaned by an employee who had refused the rental the day prior. If you will need a mobility scooter to enjoy the trip rent it from a mobility company on the mainland.The horrible employee tried to gaslight me saying I was angry when I was asking them to update their website. I had to explain I was very disappointed, wanted them to stop defending themselves as I was already informed of their rationale and to fix the problem for future travellers.See the owner's response below for an example of their customer service. We were not offered any taxis and only offered the scooter to use on Main St. I had checked when I made the reservation and was told the scooters were tested to travel the whole island. This isn't about "he said, she said". My feedback was to specify on the website the scooters cannot be used in the rain. We were never told anything about the hills, but if that is an issue then this should be added to the website so travellers can book a hotel downtown.Again, this review is not about "he said and she said". Yes I was offered a push wheelchair which offers the person with mobility issues limited independence. I did refuse the wheelchair. I still believe the website does not describe their mobility aid services accurately.

First time to the island and after choosing to rent from this location, we wouldn't go anywhere else! The service was fast and super friendly. Easy to pick-up/drop-off our bikes and the man who gave us our bikes even let me choose my favorite color bike!

Amazing service, reasonably priced, and you can rent by the hour! They also have a QR code on the bikes with a map around or through Mackinac with all the great places to stop! A must do if you’re on the island and able and they make it so easy!

Bike was a little big but nothing they could do about it. The gentleman were nice an let us know time to return an gave water for hydration. Very thankful wish I would of got a map from them but all in all very affordable no complaints at all. Would definitely be back. They have a great selection for kid bikes an men/women one fits all. Seats are adjustable an no their not the old rustic bikes the bikes are In great condition.

Very professional. You pick up bike and ride however long you want to, pay when you pick up. Plenty of bikes. Suggest going early in the morning, less bikers. Bikes were in excellent shape. 100% will use them anytime I go to Mackinac.

We used the shop to rent a mobility scooter. It really came in handy and was well worth the money. They advised us to do our carriage ride first to save money, and they would hold a scooter for us, and they did. They were super nice.

If I could rate this bike shop as zero I would. The bikes that were suggested to us were so hard to steer, we exchanged for different bikes and had the same issue. We maybe rode the second round of bikes for 20 minutes before we returned them. On the way back to return them I had to abruptly stop and was cut on my leg by the bike pedal. Upon return we explained to the owner our issues and I showed him my BLEEDING cut. He did not offer an apology, compassion or at the very least a bandaid to his hurt customer. As we were talking to the owner, he began yelling and arguing with my husband and I, in front of our children, and he absolutely REEKED like alcohol. This man was yelling about how we wanted our experience to be free and we never even asked for a full refund. He then ran away from us yelling and making a huge scene, came back over to us and ripped my receipt out of my hand and crumbled it up. This was the most unprofessional encounter I have had in my life. Would not recommend this business for bike rentals!!

Today was my first time to Mackinac Island and I got a tandem bike for myself and my 12-year-old daughter. The bike was fine when riding along flat surfaces. However, when going on hills and trying to switch gears the bike did function properly. A few times the pedals would ‘jump’ while trying to switch gears resulting in me losing my footing on the pedals more than once and having to brace myself for a fall, which fortunately did not happen. I looked at the chain to see if there was an issue there, did not make any changes but did get my hands full of grease from the chains.Upon returning the bike back I was told from the person working at the front all I could be offered was a $10 discount, despite having an unsafe bike. I told the kids working in the back about the unsafe shifting and one of them laughed, don’t know if he actually thought I was making a joke when I was being pretty serious. The ride itself could have been an injurious one to myself and my child and that is not a laughing matter.Very disappointed in the experience and how it was handled in the end. Poor management and business, ruined my day’s experience.

The equipment was great! The staff was funny and helpful, However, a staff member in a Black shirt (possibly the owner/manager) is not very friendly towards handicapped people nor people with disabilities. Very rude towards my family. Overall it’s an expensive trip. I highly recommend bringing your own bikes if you’d like.

Friendly service when you get your bike and what kind to get. You get a lock and water bottle. The good. Now the bad. The clock starts when you swipe your card, regardless how long it takes for you to get situated and on a bike and going. Came back and they time stamp you on the minute you re-swipe. Ensure you get a 10min grace period at a minimum.

We appreciated the bikes from this shop as they have good seats, a large basket, and the bikes are sprayed down in between uses. Rental includes a map, bottled water, and bike lock. We were able to bike the parameter of the island with two breaks in 1.5 hour rental. For us it was worth saving the hassle of hauling our own bikes. The bike rental was amply staffed and the staff were friendly.
