When planning this trip, I appreciated the friendly staff who answered my questions and calls immediately and professionally. The impressive service continued from the moment we arrived at the front desk and Larry ensured we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay to the kind porters who took care of our luggage to and from our room! The room was spacious, clean, and beautiful. We appreciated all of the small details that went into creating a comfortable stay for us. Their breakfast had a large variety of wonderful choices that were all fresh and delicious. Harbour View provided the best service on the island we have experienced hands down.

Beautiful Inn on the island with lush gardens and a historic atmosphere. Free breakfast was good and staff were all very professional and friendly. MASSIVE BONUS was that they have private bike rentals for their customers to take advantage of during their stay to escape the crazy bike rental rates that the rental shops on the island charge. Quite costly but well worth it especially with what you save on bike rentals!

Our room was very small, taken up almost entirely by the queen sized bed. We had access to outdoor balcony seating which was a saving grace because there was no seating in the room. The property is landscaped beautifully and the furnishings attractive. We enjoyed the continental breakfast which included a protein and fresh fruit.Walkability: What is not walkable is accessible by very charming horse drawn carriage

We had a wonderful stay at Harbour View Inn! It was a great location, within walking distance to town but also quiet! We drank our coffee on the deck in the mornings and watch the horses go by. They were super organized with the dock porters delivering the luggage from the ferry right to the room. Breakfast was included and tasty! There are also bikes on site you can rent. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time. We loved being close to the water and everything downtown. The room was extremely clean and well updated. You can hear the horses and carriages from inside the room which was a lovely surprise.Walkability: Very close to the fort/food/shops/ferry.

This place has a lot of special and sentimental value to my family, as we have been going for more than 20 years. Staying at the Grand Hotel can be a fun thing to do once, but we come back to Harbour View because the staff are fantastic, it's never overpriced, and we always find the accommodations to be great. You are so close to town, but on the edge just enough to feel out of the craziness in the summer. We have also really enjoyed renting our bikes directly through Harbour View! They have really competitive rates and it makes life a lot easier.I have gone here on a couples trip and also with my family and I have always been happy with Harbour View.

We loved the Harbour View Inn! They grabbed our bags right from the ferry at arrival and were right on time bringing them to the dock for departure. The room we stayed in was spacious and clean. We loved the deck we could sit on! It was a perfect location on the island - just down the road from the downtown. We would recommend to anyone who wants to stay on the island.Rooms: Rooms were clean and well decorated.Nearby activities: The downtown was only a few minutes awaySafety: We always felt safe.Walkability: The Inn was a few minute walk to great experiences.Food & drinks: Continental breakfast was nice.Noteworthy details: The rooms were so cute! Loved the rooms and the flowers.

We stayed as a family of 5 with our 3 young kids. The double Queen with a sleeper sofa worked perfect. It was in the back building on the 3rd floor and had a view of the water. It was very quiet and couldn’t hear any busy road noise or people. There are tons of communal places to sit and rest. Our favs were the courtyard pavilion and the front porch. The free breakfast was great and had something for everyone. Coffee, tea and lemon water were available all day in the lobby. We brought our bikes and there were two bike parking lots up the side road next to the hotel. Our bags got to and from the ferry boats with no issues. Definitely recommend staying here!

This place was just great. The room was wonderful the atmosphere was great coffee was good. Only downfall I'd say is the oatmeal being like mashed potatoes and not the availability of eggs and sausage as a warm breakfast. And not having a microwave or coffee maker in the room . They had wonderful breads and cakes and fruit and one small entree but adding pre-mixed eggs and Jimmy Dean sausage would not cost much and would just really fulfill breakfast. These folks held our luggage after check out and brought it down to the ferry we gave the guy a tip for this. We are really and were just super happy with this placeNearby activities: Close to downdown shopping and the docks/piers. Right next to the fort.

We took a last minute vacation to Mackinac Island and was able to book the last room at Harbour View Inn. Our room was a double queen suite back in the Guest House building. The room was very nice and we had a balcony with a view of the garden area. We enjoyed the continental breakfast and the staff was very friendly. I would definitely recommend Harbour View Inn as a great place to stay on the island.

This is a great hotel that goes above and beyond on service. Staff is awesome everywhere on sight.It's in a location that allows it to be quiet and relaxing. We liked sitting in both the front porch and garden area. By the way, the landscaping is gorgeous!When we arrived from the ferry they cared for our baggage all the way. They even carry it to and from your room.We really enjoyed the wide selection for breakfast.Nearby activities: This hotel is located in close proximity of all activities we were interested in.Walkability: We liked the hotel being a bit of the main area. It is close enough to walk everywhere without a lot of crowds.

Great location with friendly staff. Our room was fantastic and the view amazing. The breakfast was bountiful with a variety of offerings. The history of the Inn was an added bonus. We will be back again!!!!Rooms: Our room was WONDERFUL!!! A balcony with a view of the water and street. It was roomy, clean and located close to the stairs for quick access to the outside.Walkability: The Inn is close to the downtown and many activities. We were married here on Tuesday and everything was just perfect! Becky was great to work with throughout the planning process and the rest of the staff was equally great. The inn and our room was very clean and well maintained. They were exceptionally accommodating while we were there. We are looking forward to staying here again in the future!Rooms: Very clean and comfortable.Nearby activities: Bike rentals are available through the inn.Walkability: Very close to the downtown area.

My husband and I reserved a jacuzzi suite for our honeymoon weekend away. The room was very spacious with two bathrooms, a sitting area and desk. Bed was small for us as we are use to a king but overall okay.The main complaint I have is what they do not tell you is that during quite hours, that also includes you not having the right to use the jacuzzi tub in a room that you paid good money for. After walking and biking 14 miles during the day I was excited to soak the day away. At 10:15 I received a call from the front desk complaining about the noise and asked to shut it off. I would have never imagined being told I could only use the jacuzzi tub during certain hours.They were very prompt to get our luggage to and from the dock though.

To begin with it is in a great location near to docks, Fort Mackinac and Downtown. Looks like all hotels provide the luggage transfer from docks to hotel room (on a gratuity basis) - really liked the same. The room was serviced every day and maintained very clean.However, the continental breakfast provided in the morning was very bad, service/assistance present there was not helpful at all. There was no fridge (provided a broken one on request) or a micro-oven (told not to be given even on request) provided in the room - so had to rely on someone to get some milk heated up for the kids. When requested the same during the breakfast, did not had a good experience. Waited for some time and left the place to check if we can get it somewhere outside the hotel.Bicycles are provided at a discounted rate, but more than 50% of those present at the hotel were in really bad condition. Please make sure you ride a bit before you take it out.No swimming pool or other amenities at the hotel. Considering all the hotels there charge around the same amount in the season, my suggestion would be to opt for any other hotel if available.

Harbour View is our first choice and favorite for overnight stays on Mackinac Island. It's close to town making it so convenient. The entire team takes such good care of its guests, and the grounds are simply gorgeous. We'll be back (again and again) as soon as our calendars allow another getaway to our happy place.Food & drinks: The complimentary breakfast that is provided is amazing. It makes for a great way to start each day of your stay.
