I just set up my fish tank at my new place and was looking for a new pet shop to check out. Ya know, get a few fish to pop the cycling of my tank water.When I rolled up to this place I was thinking this place is gonna suck. Tiny store front in the corner of a strip mall. Not much to look at from the outside.Well let me tell you, this place has one of the best selection of fresh water fish/plants I have seen in a long time! Oh, and they have salt water too. But I don’t have my 75 gallon bow-front salt water tank anymore sadly.I won’t bore you with a detailed description of each and every fish, in each and every tank. Nor which fish I selected. I’ll just let a few pics I took give you a teaser of what to expect when you check it out. Which u should.Oh, and the moral of the story here is don’t judge a book by its cover. The store front of a Pet Smart is real huge and fancy. But most only have like 20 fish tanks with some that are empty….

This is one of my favorite stores to frequent. The staff is always knowledgeable and friendly. I have found Pet Connection to have one of the best values and selections for aquatic plants. I always have a great experience every time I visit. I’d highly recommend this business for your aquatic needs

I’ve been here a few times because I just moved to the area and needed something close. Out of the maybe 10 times I’ve been there, I’ve had one good experience with an employee. All the others I can hardly speak on the customer service because I don’t get any. I have to search out for an employee for any type of help. The tanks are never updated on live Stock either. I’ve waited 45 mins for help on a fish identification just to be told that fish has been sold and still nothing was done about the tank saying that fish was still in there

Terrible customer service. I've been all over Michigan and Ohio for fresh and saltwater. I've been doing this hobby for 30+ yrs and can tell you your best bet is find someone you can communicate with if you walk into a shop and have to search for someone and not be greated TAKE your money somewhere else!

I recently got back into aquariums/fish keeping and have honestly gone to every single shop in metro detroit, and while there are other very nice places, Pet Connection is definitely the best, they have the best selection of healthy fish at the best prices I have seen and they also have the most hardscape in stock along with a large selection of live plants. It's just a really nice place .

They have a nice selection of fish. We have visited several times this month. We wanted to purchase 2 large aquariums ($900 a pc.) staff said no holds (layaway) until we prep area in our home. They are not handicap friendly and customer service is unpersonable.

Great selection of fish and plants for great prices. I bought a pair of sparkling gouramis awhile ago and they are doing great in my planted tank. I also bought some rotala rotundufolia 'indica' clippings which had a really good price in my opinion, (a large bunch for about $2 was enough to grow a small forest in my tank without any fertilizer or CO2. I read some reviews about rude staff and both times when I went there was a redhead girl working who wasn't rude at all and and got me the things I wanted to buy. Only things I would change is the Axolotl tank that was advertised looked too small in my opinion. I saw many of the reviews were replied to by the owner, and I was wondering if you sell any white cloud minnows or bladder snails. I was thinking about buying a tank for a school of the white clouds and maybe try to breed them. This is currently my favorite fish store in my area and I do recommend checking it out to anyone who is curious.

This is my favorite fish store in the area, where you can buy fresh and saltwater fish. The tanks always look pristine with healthy looking fish and a decent variety to choose from. The staff have been friendly and attentive the multiple times I’ve been in. I live close, but even if not, I’d go out of my way for the stop.Picture is live rock I purchased from there and my photogenic hawkfish swooping in to be included!

I drove an hour and a half to get some piranhas from them. I got there at 7:56pm and they still let me in and helped me find what I needed. I didn’t feel rushed and was able to skip for what I wanted. They are very knowledgeable and they have good prices on everything.

Pet Connection is, hands down, the best place to get into aquariums in the State of Michigan. This fish specialty store came highly recommended to us. After suffering the loss of fish from a box store, a friend recommended This place to us. I am surprised by the previous reviewer complaining about their prices as I found them to be comparable to other places. Shop local and shop with the experts is much better and prices pretty much on par. I really like that each tank is separate from the neighboring tank. When I went to look at their fish, I found that 98% of their freshwater fish to be very lively and energetic! The advice and instruction, customer service is superb! I found my new fish resource! Thank you!

Your choice of blood worms is poor. Stopped in your store on the way thru town. You only sell the Hikari bloodworms. I bought the big bag of Hikari blood worms for my tank. I drop them in and they are so tiny you can't even see them. My fish can't even fish can't even find them. I stopped at a fish store in Westland once. They sell Sally's Blood worms and they are much better than what you sell. My fish would starve on the Hikari.

Pet Connection is a nice neighborhood place to shop. Here's what makes me go elsewhere they are too overpriced with every item in there establishment. You never see them running a sale or a special. Everything that I have picked up in Pet Connection I went and priced it somewhere else and as much cheaper and I'm talking about two or three dollars cheaper. I understand the economy may have took a hit with covid, I understand prices may be on the rise backpack connection is ridiculous with their prices I will only go there and get the bare minimum items.

This is an aquarium shop fully stocked with everything from chemical needs to more driftwood than you can find on the beach. They do both salt and freshwater, and I've never had a bad fish from them. I've sold some bred apistogramma to them at a fair enough price to upgrade to a higher quality tank. I do like their customer service: greetings upon entry are followed by a few minutes to browse, after which they follow up without making you felt chased down.

My daughter and I frequent Pet Connection on a regular basis. She loves that the store is well stocked and always has a great variety. We have been able to add fish right into our aquarium without quarantine and without issue. We were able to get Ranchu goldfish here and no one else (that we are aware of) have them. They are thriving and healthy. The store can be quite busy in the evening hours and the staff are often very busy; you must be patient. Ava is always very helpful to us.

Haven't been here since I was a child until recently. I was pleasantly surprised to hear the same owner owns the store. There was a male employee with glasses (dont remember his name) who helped a ton with plant and fish care questions. I'll gladly spend more money here.

We've tried several fish stores in the area, and this one is by far our favorite. Staff is incredibly knowledgeable, fish always look healthy, and almost all the staff is more than happy to answer a billion questions, or not give me shade when I want the one fish out of the 20 in the tank that seems to be the fastest. Also not afraid to let someone know that no, they should not be putting four Oscar's and seven goldfish in a ten gallon tank, which I admire a lot. I've never had a problem with anything bought here, and it's been almost three years of patronage.
