Complete dump! Got the “nicest” room…broken tiles in bathroom, peeling wallpaper, super rude harley dude at check in. Basically had to wake him up. Room stinks of lysol spray, had to go across the street to get clorox wipes to wipe everything down. Dirty tub and shower. Had to get “extra” blanket cause one on bed was dirty, bedspread too. Came home from dinner to discover eight room “hall party” outside my room. Bunch of drunks with to much loud mouth soup tonite. Swearing, arguing and whoo hooing until midnight or so. Total clown show….try the Lewiston Lodge instead.Rooms: They suck

Easy to find.Staff is super nice, and hard working! Coffee and danish in the morning was greatly appreciated.Everyone has their own preference on pillows & mattresses, my mattress was firm just the way I like it, and the other mattress in our room was on the softer side, which is just the way my husband likes it, so for us our room fit us well.Pillows were the same way, I took the pillows off the other bed and gave my husband the softer ones.Again a win win!Our room was clean and spacious & we also had a mini refrigerator.We talked with the owners the morning we were leaving, they were awesome and down to earth people.We stayed 3 nights, I ALWAYS check our room for all kinds of things, especially bed bugs, and we never saw any bug, of any kind.Yes the decor may have have an outdated style/ colors, but this hotel was clean and we didn’t find anything wrong, other than other guests propping open the door to the outside.We would stay here again.

This place is a dump. I will never stay here again. The room was not vacuumed and the toilet wouldn't stop running. I asked to be put in a different room, the guy at the front desk said they were "booked full". (LIE) I asked for my money back so we could get a different hotel, the guy told me "no refunds" very rudely and told me I could leave if I didn't like it. We did leave and stayed at the lewiston lodge.I disputed the charge on my credit card and provided pictures and a video. I won the dispute and received a refund.This is definitely not the same redwood hotel from years ago. The new owners let it run down and are rude to paying customers.

My dad rented my family a room here. Hospitality was great. However I believe the owners should upgrade the beds as they are not comfortable at all. So getting a good night's sleep after a long fun day was kinda hard. The only other issue I had was the door leading into our part of the hotel was surrounded by large spiders and their webs. I am personally allergic to the bacteria in spider bites that leads me to cellulitis, so it lead to some scary entrances to the hotel. If it wasn't for the spiders on the doors and the beds I would have gave this a 5 stars the staff was nice and welcoming.

So happy to find a wonderful pool AND hot tub that is in great working condition. They also have a sauna, but I did not use that. Every hotel we have stayed at in the last 10 days (we drove from TX & toured the upper peninsula ) had a broken hot tub or none at all. It seems a thing of the past that is sorely missing…And some of these were expensive chain hotels. So far, I am loving my stay.

Happy to get a room in short notice. But they were a little weird about dogs. We brought our little puppy into the lobby to check in and they wouldn't allow her, even though they have pet friendly rooms. There's no signs and nothing on the website. It was just a weird experience.

Dog was howling in nearby room, snowmobiles were right outside window driving through parking lot from about 11p-3a. Didn't get much sleep. If we have to be kept up all night, the hot tub and pool should remain open. Maybe find a better spot for people that are up to enjoy riding a better place to park, so others can get sleep. Room was decent, place was clean.

My friends and I LOVE this place. Always clean and staff are always friendly. The beds need some updating really badly or maybe just a mattress topper as they were very uncomfortable. Everything else was solid and we look forward to staying again next year!

I love this place. I especially like that on top of the bathroom there is a second sink and mirror so multiple people can get ready at the same time. It's the only place I stay when I'm in Lewiston.Nearby activities: Redwood is close to dining, (right next door), downtown Lewiston where the yearly Timber Fest is held and close to the Twin Lakes.

Nice people. They were very accommodating to everyone when I was there. A couple even walked in looking for a room because their cabins water heater didnt work. The owner offered their locker room showers so they wouldn't have to rent a room for a shower. The hotel itself has a great up north feel. The place is very clean. It's not far from the bars or the beach. I would recommend this place to anyone.

The staff was unfriendly, actually rude. The beds are hard. The pillows are flat. The one treadmill is out of order. Not sure how long that has been the case. No refrigerator or microwave or coffee maker in room. Never stay here again.

One star is generous for this place. The rudeness of the owners was pretty unbelievable when all we asked for was clean pillows. We travel to the area often and will not be back, nor would I recommend this place to my worst enemy. The pillows were very flat and completely yellow stained. When we asked the guy at the front desk for clean pillows we were sighed at heavily and eyes were rolled at us. We were told that the stains were coffee and “isn’t that what pillow cases are for” I said if you can’t provide us with clean pillows then just refund my money for tonight and we will gladly leave. To which he laughed and said “oh you aren’t getting your money back”. The owner then was called to come in and her attitude was very unprofessional for a business owner. Apparently stained pillows are acceptable for their customers. Do yourself a favor and do not stay here!

Great hotel! I stayed here for three nights, the town is nice, small, and quiet. Perfect for a getaway! The staff was very professional and polite. When we had questions about swimming or checkout they answered very kindly without hesitation. For a small town they seemed pretty upbeat and excited. I love seeing mom and pop places everywhere I go. I would recommend to others to stay here!

We needed a break from the all day rain in Lewiston, cabin fever with the 3 grandkids and thought a trip to Redwood lodge pool would be a nice break. The gracious owner was very friendly and he did not charge us for my 2 year old grandson. The grandkids loved the pool. The facility is dated yes, however it is clean and appears to be well maintained.

I'm so sad we chose this hotel for our guests to stay for our wedding. They were incredibly rude, many guests found bed bugs in their rooms. With pictures of the bugs in the beds. Our wedding was at 3PM and the check in was at 3PM and they wouldn't even give the guests their keys at 2:45PM, 15 MINUTES prior so we had to keep our shuttle and shuttle everyone BACK to the hotel after the ceremony in between the ceremony and reception because they said you need to check-in between 3:00-11:00 or you don't get your room even though it is paid for. DO NOT STAY HERE

This place is pretty decent. Had a couple minor issues but the guy at the desk was more than patient and accomodating even though i was probably a pain in the rear. As for the room, it was clean. No bugs. No weird smells, and we were in the pet friendly room. If i come though Lewiston again and need a place to stay, this place will be my first choice... If the guy at the desk doesn't kneecap me as soon as he sees me.

One lady working here was quite rude to the guests. After leaving something in our room after check out I asked to grab the object only to get a sigh and an unwilling escort to the room. Not only that, the pool had hair and dirt in it and the changing room weren't that clean. Children ranging from the ages of 8-14 were accused of locking a pool door for the female changing room even though they did not leave the pool, even after a family of mostly females left two minutes before the rude lady yelled at them. There were no fridges and an old box TV that didn't work right. We are locals and the service just surprised us everything else in the town is run by professional, polite people. Needless to say won't be back again

To whom it may concern,I travel for work regularly and the way this staff handled our reservation and our stay in regards to customer service was unacceptable.The room was not clean and the bed had stains that looked like blood but they referred to them as “coffee” stains. I will not be returning to this establishment and I would highly recommend spending the extra money and staying at Garland’s resort instead of this “motel”.I hope someone finds this useful and goes elsewhere for a stay in a northern Michigan!

Spacious and clean. Staff is friendly. The indoor pool and hot tub are awesome. It has a rustic feel but the hotel is very close to stores and restaurants. I would definitely stay here again. 😁

I Love this hotel it was nice and clean. All the time the hotel staff is awesome and being up here working really made this place better for us with the pool and hot tub and the sauna it a five star hotel by any mean the only thing that would make this place better is the air conditioning in some of the room but it a very nice hotel and the place is around everything help when you work out on the road and yes the front desk staff seem a little rude at first but there like the rest of Michigan is just the way it is I feel that they are wonderful people and have really helped us out even lent us their grill😉😉that classy service and good eating 😋😋😋 and the grill was still hot from them using it what more could you ask for

Beyond rude, we get there and the owner was mean mugging me because I had my aunts dog who just got out of surgery in the car, he yelled at my mom no dogs. We all wanted to go swimming so we left the dog in the car. My nephew and I went to let him go to the bathroom an hour later and this little blonde worker got snobby and told us “no dogs in the rooms” when we literally just was letting him go to the bathroom. Then when we got into our hotel room our toilet was clogged, we asked the two workers working (they were like 20) if they could help us and they ignored us, later on we asked again and they threw a plunger at us and told us to do it ourselves, we attempted to and it started to overflow, my mom then went up there and tried telling them once again and asked for help and instead of helping they told us “no, it’s not our problem” then when we asked for our money back they then called the police on us, the owner came and started screaming that the “maid” (in which I didn’t see once) heard the dog in our hotel room, the owner was screaming at us and screamed (in front of the officer) that we had people coming in and out all day. (We got there around 3pm) we had our family come swimming in which they PAID to do. Then as soon as I started recording the owner said “oh you are taking a video? Go to their toilet” to the two kids (which I have on video) and once they got to our room the owners wife continued to hit my mom for recording then she also got in my 15 year old nephews face and was screaming at him that he broke the Toilet while my other 5 year old nephew was trying to sleep. Like why would we purposely break a toilet just to get charged for it AND when we have a 5 year old w us? The cops did NOTHING and we got kicked out at 10pm, had no where to go so had no choice but to drive back downstate. Pathetic owner, pathetic employees, horrible rooms too!
