Loved this book store. Bright, cheery and huge inventory. Hardbound and paperback books. There are toys for infants, small children and big kids. At times craft activities on their enclosed back porch. They have local artwork from artists from Michigan. I found artwork by an artist i had purchased from before. So excited to have a pair ... 🌻 sunflowers by watercolor. Beautiful. There has only been three owners since the 1970s. Buy a book, postcards, artwork and even bookmarks. Need a gift, support this small business.

We stopped here while in town and had a great experience. I was impressed with the book collection that they had. There were lots of books about the local areas that you would not find online or in other stores. I always spend time in the cookbook section and they had a diverse selection of cookbooks with many of the newest and popular titles available. They also had a nice selection of books about nature and the outdoors which is very fitting for the area.We did purchase a couple of items and our interaction with the staff was pleasant. Maybe they have turned the corner here. Give em a shot, reading is worth it.

You walk into this store and it’s just books wall to wall!! They have everything, children’s, adults, teens. And the workers are beyond helpful!! They were pleasant, friendly, knew exactly where things were located and appreciated light conversation. I will definitely shop here again just because our experience was so amazing!

Stopped in today with our kiddos. Could've easily spent more time in there than we did! The owner was very nice, and helped our 3 year old find some dinosaur books. Our daughter curled up on a cozy bench perusing books for herself, and even my husband found something! Definitely something for everyone here, and highly suggest stopping in!

Truly enjoyed our visit to Leelanau Books. There's a large selection with a book for every type of person. Both my children selected a book and on the way out the owner asked if they'd like her to read them a book. They agreed and the gesture was appreciated. Taking the time to read (and sing) a book is never expected, and the dedication of her precious time meant a lot to us, as parents, and also to our kids who loved the change of pace from wandering around clothing stores with us. Our kids weren't enjoying the town visit up until that point and the reading plus balloons and stickers really changed their view of the visit. Hope to be back one day!

Adorable little bookstore with stickers, pins, art supplies, and more! Had a cute little corner with an electronic fireplace and coffee and yea for purchase. A sweet kitty “works” there too! Please continue to wear masks in the store!!

Excellent spot to stop and relax. Ms. Paula, the owner, has such a great and gentle touch with the kids. The face painting and statue painting compliment the quaint book store so well. Leelanau Books is a must see when you visit Leland!!!

Amazing Store. Great for kids and adults alike. If they don't have it they can order it. It's the one stop shop for your Northern Michigan/Native American/Leelanau inspired literary treasures.

This cozy bookstore has a great selection of books. I especially loved the greeting cards and stationery made by local artists! A great place to stop if you are visiting the Sleeping Bear Dunes area.
