I have a poodle mix that has been groomed by Danielle for almost 4 years. She comes home with a great haircut every 5 weeks. We do dog sports and people always comment how great she looks. A lady who does confirmation and has grand champion poodles has asked me 4x if I groom her myself because she is so well groomed - I think this is such high praise of Danielle’s work so thanks for making us look good!

What an amazing experience I had at Old Town Tails! Debby and her staff made me and my yellow lab feel comfortable from start to finish. As he doesn’t do well with other dogs, Debby worked with me to set an early morning appointment on one of their quieter days. She walked me through the entire process and I knew Dillinger was in the best of hands. Our groomer welcomed him and asked all the essential questions prior to getting started. In less than an hour, we were on our way. Pricing is far lower than I expected and the service is superior to other pet spas. The shop also is vibrant, cheerful and quite sanitary. I will be back and can. It recommend Old Town Tails more highly!!

I did a walk-in for my dog's nails trimmed back. Though the place a was very busy, several benches with groomers and fur a-flying', I was immediately greeted, assigned a groomer, checked in, dog handed off and quick turn around (like, 10 minutes). They actually grind the nails and trim when needed...if I understand the process correctly. $15 for the nails. Estimated $70 for grooming on my med. sized terrier. **People complain about the parking fees ask in that section of Wash. St but if you park on Wash St South of Cesar Chavez it is free. We should all complain loudly about parking fees in Old Town but for this business it's easy avoid fees.

This was my first time taking my Dandy there & it was the best experience I’ve ever had. They’re all so nice & treated him so well when he was nervous. Katie did the BEST job on everything & I will absolutely without a doubt be coming back. The price was incredibly reasonable & the quality was out of this world. Thank you so much for the amazing experience. Dandy will be back to see Katie again!

I and my pup had a very good experience with last minute bath and nails. My dog is rather anxious with separation and new people and grooming. The groomer was really gently with her and made her comfortable for her grooming. My dog was shiny and soft with great nails after. They also worked with me to get the right service for her itchy skin. Highly recommend! Will be going back and already made my next appointment :)

I'm a new customer and unfortunately this will be my only visit. I'm out of town for a work trip and have been trying to get my dog in for a cut and wash after having given birth about 10 weeks ago and this was the only pet groomer with availability that was also accepting new clients and its at the point I will do it myself going forward as I've lost complete trust in strangers I'm paying to not do as I ask. When I sent my dog with my mom to be dropped off the only request I had was that the cut be short and clean on the body and to not trim the ears as I have grown them out over the past 2 years. I was told that the groomer was made aware of this and had no issue completing the task. One of the first things the groomer mentioned at pickup was how she trimmed the ears a bit. She cut off all the hair we've been trying to grow out for 2 years off. When my mom pointed out they looked short the groomer responded with an as a matter of fact "I only took a little bit off". I'm honestly upset she paid in full for the job they did as there are also patches of hair that are longer than the rest. They ignored specific directions and chose to do what they wanted, no apology was offered for specifically doing what they were asked not to do, and in general, the job was not done well. I did try to contact them but when I called the line hung up almost instantly. While the staff was by no means rude I'm simply left pretty disappointed in the experience as a whole.

This is one of the best groomers of my dog’s entire 15 year old life.They’ve been able to groom him at his worst (matted after an encounter with burrs) as well as when he comes in regularly. With equal quality.They also really seem to CARE about the dogs in their care. I’ve never had a groomer ask so many questions just to get to know my dog. They wanted to make sure my elderly dog was comfortable during the experience. They also gave suggestions for post-groom care to ensure my dog was comfortable after a big cut.They were also great with communication, which is the initial reason why we started going here in the first place. They communicate upcoming appointments, as well as when the dog was nearly finished so I could pick him up without him needing to wait longer than necessary.Oh, they’re also extremely reasonably priced.Im so very pleased, all around.

I am a retired groomer and, as such, it can be hard to find a salon and a team that you really enjoy and trust when you don't have the pleasure of working with them and knowing them yourself. I'd lived in Lansing over three years and had not been able to find a place I was comfortable patronizing more than once.I've had I think five appointments now with Old Town Tails? Maybe six? Each time, I have dropped my dog off feeling that she was going to be cared for and attended just the same way I would and each time, I have picked up a happy and beautiful dog.When grooming a new dog with a new haircut, it can definitely take time to learn the owners specific needs and preferences and while there was a hiccup or two while we figured out exactly how I like my girls cut, they were always forthright or questioning about mistakes they might have made (which was so minor and few and far between, it never ever bothered me).If you want to bring your dogs to a place where you KNOW they will be safe and cared for and leave with a quality (or necessary) haircut, there is literally no other choice for grooming salons. I will never go anywhere else for as long as I live in this town and I make a point to tell as many people as possible about how amazing they are!From a formerly anxious owner who doesn't worry about a thing, thank you so much. You guys are excellent and I am grateful for you!

I FINALLY found my groomer!! WOW!! I’ve had dogs for so many years and have gone to so many places, sometimes I wasn’t happy with it, sometimes I felt it was good, but I’ve never felt it was great until today, from the greeting and conversation I had with my groomer, Zahna, who was so nice and caring, I felt completely comfortable with my dog in her care, the place is so clean and happy, and my dog has never been thoroughly groomed until today, ALL of the stuck shedding undercoat was removed, that’s never been done at any other place, her fur is so soft, that’s never happened at any other place and I just thought her fur couldn’t be soft, her nails were cut so well, all the same length and smoothed, that’s never happened at any other place either.. and I inquired about training, the owner is an amazing person who spent time explaining so much to me.. she runs this shop beautifully, I couldn’t ask for anything more, this is the only place I’m taking my precious dogs, I’ve been alittle stressed out about where to take her this time…I could go on and on about this shop.. I’m so relieved I finally found the perfect place 💜Edit to add photos, couldn’t get her to stay in “sit” long enough for a beautiful pic, really looking forward to going to training 😁

We took our two mini doxies in for a nail trim and it was a breeze! Everyone was so friendly and the service was great. They made my dogs feel comfortable and I could not be more impressed. We were in and out in 15 minutes. We'll be coming back!

I have a 135lb Great Pyrenees. Darien does a fantastic job, preserves his coat when she could just shave it, and only takes 3-4hrs to get the job done. Great environment for dogs and humans! Fair pricing.

HORRIBLE PLACE! I wish I could give them ZERO stars the Owner DEBBIE was completely rude and informed me that her groomers work out of commission and since I had some cancelled appointments due to my puppy be in the vet she would not keep me as a customer! It is a million pet groomers that are way more sympathetic to the circumstances and not just out for the money! It should also be considered of the puppies healthiness before focusing on commission of your employees! Would never recommend for anyone please take your business elsewhere!

First time here and the groomers were patient, nice and very informative on which vets and trainers to go to. They did an amazing job at deshedding, getting his nails cut and trimming his fur down. Definitely the spot to go to if you want your pet handled properly and cared for. I will be back again with Soju.

Took my boy in to have his nails cut because I always know they will take care of him, even as a walk-in. This is the best place for your pet to be groomed. I LOVE going to Old Town Tails. I take my Beagle every 5-8 weeks for a grooming. It takes about an hour so I get to walk around Old Town and shop/eat a little which I look forward to. Adam is wonderful and kind. They took great care of my furbaby.

The groomer inquired about Louise and took the time to listen to her needs before starting the process. They were efficient, timely, and communicative throughout the entire visit. A friend suggested Old Town Tails to groom our Aussie, Skylar. Skylar is 7 and I was concerned she wouldn't do well. They suggested she come in for a private visit to get familiar with the facility and owner. She did well, so we set up grooming appointment. She did GREAT! We've already scheduled her next appointment. The professionalism was superb, facility clean and well maintained and care they took in familiarizing Skylar was special...a special touch! Although it's a 20-25 min. drive for us, it is worth it!

Bre was great! She was really thorough and detailed during the phone consultation to set up the appointment, communicative about how my lil buddy was during his grooming, and very kind and personable. The other staff I interacted with were also very nice. For what it’s worth the other pets in there seemed happy too so I thought that was pawsitive!

Where to start? They’ve been more than patient with me through so much learning. I grew up with dogs, but I’m a first time dog owner myself and it’s taken a lot of growth on my part to understand the requirements for a higher maintenance dog. They have been very educational and understanding about where I’m coming from. I went to them for the first time around the beginning of 2022 from a groomer that made me afraid to go to the groomer cause they always made me feel stupid and inadequate as a dog owner. I so appreciate them for their patience and gentleness with me and my sweet girl. Also, I love their new space on Washington! So cute!
