I like this store and have been going here for years, but have had to stop buying soft food items (ie bread, crackers, donuts). Whatever air freshener they are using throughout store, permeates these items and they all taste like the air freshener.

I came in here the other day looking for some small dumbbells after leaving physical therapy. They didn’t have any in stock but the 2 ladies working were super nice and helpful. I didn’t care they didn’t have the product, the customer service was very appreciated.

Friendly management and staff both Extremely helpful. The store was well stock and Clean. Although I did tell there store manager that all other Dollar Generals should start carrying diet Vernor and Diet Mountain Dew also "Shrimp Cocktail Sauce" other than that it was a most enjoyable shopping experience. Happy Shopping!!!

Not very impressed at all... Store has a lot of great stuff but a lot in the aisleways that could DEFINITELY CAUSE a tripping hazards. Shelves packed full with items just thrown on top of one another. It felt very congested.

I used to love shopping there when Marie & Teresa worked there, but now the employees are rude as heck including the snotty little district manager.Not to mention they cannot keep employees, nothing is ever stocked nowSo now my shopping will be done at Family Dollar, I don't know what happened at that store but they made a huge mistake my entire family quit shopping there.

The Dollar General on Cavanaugh in Lansing is always busy. It seems a little more organized than some of the other layouts. Things are definitely easier to find even fir first timers. Very pleasant employees there.

I really like this store. It is clean and ORGANIZED! Decent prices. But most of all, CLEAN & ORGANIZED! The staff is friendly. It is never packed in there. I wish the Dollar General organization would let the staff have a nice, clutter free, area for customers to place our items! I really think this is a corporate decision and it's not a good one. This comment pertains to all the DG stores in Lansing! I think you have enough shelves near the check out line to entice customers with items that they don't need. In my opinion, the corporation has to take it a step further, by placing items right on the counter, which now makes it a struggle for the cashier to find space to put the bags, other than the nasty, germ ridden floor. I usually have a cart full and to watch me trying to shove stuff on a nice size, clutter filled counter, is a joke. 1/2 the time, I am asked, "is that yours too?" OMG. I always have a nice experience at this store. This is my favorite DG in town. They have an amazing manager/staff and it shows! When you walk in there you are not traumatized by a mess as the other stores in Lansing.Update 7/2019: keep an eye out for expired items. I found cans of microwave spaghetti & meatballs with expiration date 2017 on the shelf. This also goes for non food items. Recently purchased "generic" flonase nose spray. 3 days later, I noticed the label on the bottle with the expiration date of 2015. I threw it out. Food or not, always check the expiration date.8/1/20 update: I like this store, mainly because during these crazy times that we are in, this store is not crowded with people. Staff is very friendly and helpful.BUT....I have been going to this store 2 times a week for the last 4 weeks (seriously) looking for cleaning supplies, as in lysol wipes/spray. They always had products on the shelf. In the last month though, the shelves are bare!! I mean comparable to when Michigan first went into covid lockdown! Not only are they not putting name brand cleaning products on the shelves, they barely have toilet paper and paper towels. Even food products are sparse. Other area Dollar General stores put products out within 24 hours of shipment. It looks like this store is going to go out of business. They will refresh some products, namely the cheaper, generic products. Not sure what is going on. This store has to be losing $$. 🤷‍♀️9/8/20 update: This store absolutely refuses to replenish their brand name cleaning products. The shelves continue to be bare. There is another Dollar General within 5 miles of this establishment and they always put product on their shelves soon after receiving it. They have a "limit" on the amount of items that you can purchase, which is smart; but the point is that product is out there for us! They are not hoarding it. It is too bad this establishment chooses to operate this way. But they are. Again, check out the other Dollar General that is down the road, they have an ample amount of brand name items and best of all, it is available, in limited amounts, but it is there. 👍

I use a walker and they had so much stuff in all the isles that my Walker could not go down. I mentioned to my aide that this store is not equipped for the handicapped. Immediately a worker said take it up with Dollar General I was not even talking to her and she made that snide remark. Every aisle I had to ask a worker to get down an Isle. She was very rude. If I thought it would do any good I would contact Dollar General, but like it's worker he would probably fall on deaf ears.

This store looks small, but it has soooooooo much stuff! I've never walked out with only the items I went in to buy--I always find other stuff I "have" to have!!

Didnt put 1 of my items in the bag so i went back and said they would. Check the left behind log. Nope said if i wanted to wait she would check the video of that day how unreal!!! Guesz ill go back to fd.

Prices are starting to go up. Never can get my DG Digital coupons to work. Cashiers don't assist and really don't care. Poor service at this location.

Doller general is the best place to refill my greendot visa card, as for some reason rite aid cant do it.plus its one of the few places that sell wolf chilli.....thats it im putting money on the card and get some chilli!
