DO NOT USE this company! This was the condition of the kennel my dog was kept in. He had no bedding other then the rug I left with him and the walls had paint chipping off of them and coming off the walls at risk of being ingested. The metal parts of his kennel were rusty and not kept up with the floor is painted with what looks to be basement floor sealer that is worn and chipping. There is no staff on site after hours to moniter animals. The website states that it is a premium boarding service tht offers "comfortable and cozy" stay with "premium bedding" they cant even be bothered to have the manager call me. I am horrified that my dog had to stay here after I found out what the conditions are like. This place is not safe and should be shut down untill the facility can be repaired and brought up to date. We came home from vacation early to get him out of there. Do not use this company. I would not have let my best friend stay here had I realized that he would be so miserable. I WILL NOT be entrusting my pet to people that think that these conditions are acceptable ever again.

Heather was my groomer and I followed her to Best Friends. Her and the staff there are just wonderful. I bring Coco in looking like a hot mess, and she comes out just beautiful. Highly recommend

Our golden retriever loves coming to Best Friends Daycare. We have brought her a few times a month to play and have used the grooming services. Staff have always been helpful and friendly!

Savi LOVES it here. We board her around once a month, groom occasionally, and watch her on the doggy daycare cameras. Cameras are only on from 10am to 2pm so don’t miss it!Otherwise I love the staff and Savi runs straight to the door!

I adopted my dog in March 2016. She was fostered with other dogs, but after living with just me for months, she became very protective & seemed to not like other dogs.Reluctantly, I decided to try Best Friends day camp group play to socialize her.The staff has been so great working with her & she absolutely loves going every week to play with the other dogs! They were able to tell me that she prefers male dogs over female, which has been really helpful for me to know while socializing outside of there.The staff is always welcoming & I have now been taking her every week since. It is so nice to bring her home & she is whooped- sleeps like a baby!I chose Best Friends over another place located right next door to my work, as I love that the dogs can play & aren't just walked during the day.Because I plan to move soon, I can only pray for another location closer to the Lansing/East Lansing area in the future!

Best Friends was recommended to us by a relative. The staff was very welcoming and friendly to both the dogs and us. They were very accommodating to the specific needs of each of the dogs, especially the shy one. We have now boarded them several times and just took one of the dogs to doggy day care would highly recommend them. The staff is wonderful and we feel safe and our dogs there. Would definitely recommend and we continue to use this facility frequently.

Always had a great experience with the staff here. Took our dog a week ago for grooming and was floored over the price. Normal cost about 54. For grooming we got charged 125. For the same grooming. Nobody said anything to me when I took her there that morning. Asked why so much and was told owners raised the price. Well I'm not going back.... You don't just raise your prices without telling anyone about the increase .

Very nice staff at the desk. However, my cat contracted gingivitis while staying here leading me to believe food bowls here MIGHT be unsanitary. (After consulting with a vet about possibilities of contracting the virus). My cat was EXTREMELY sick when I picked him up. So I was slightly disappointed staff didn’t call me to let me know that my cat was drooling profoundly, and discharging from his nose.

Took our dog to Best Friends Pet Hotel for the first time this weekend, and apparently the staff takes the name of the place to heart. When we went in to pick her up this morning she was hanging out with them behind the counter. Rather then make her sit alone in a cage, they instead chose to give her the love and support she needed to comfort her in a strange, new environment. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. On top of the wonderful way they treated our Pumpkin, they also gave us a free stay since it was our first time boarding her with them. Thank you to each of you that went out of your way to love our dog for us while we were out of town.

My husband and I were very pleased with our experience. We had a family emergency and had to find a place to book our pet with very little advanced notice. We could not be happier about the professionalism and compassion of the staff at Best Friends. These are good people who genuinely care.

Update: my cat still loves it there and the staff are still fantastic.I boarded my cat here for 6 days and plan on boarding her again for other trips. I scheduled a tour before boarding and Kelly happily answered all of my questions. Even though I was nervous because this was the first time going away for an extended period of time and her not being at home, I knew she would be safe and taken care of well. She was excited to see me when I picked her up and I didn’t have to worry about who was feeding and socializing while I was away.

The owner was rude and accused me of giving her a run around and trying to up charge me $50 and pretty much told me that my dog wasn’t allowed near other dogs and that she was the one caring for her and really didn’t give her the correct attention. As soon as I got my dog home she immediately had to use the bathroom like she hasn’t gone in days. Now my poor dog is just laying around like she’s malnourished. She has zero energy and you can tell something is visibly wrong. These people don’t care about your dog they care about money and I will never ever recommend them to anyone. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

I have been boarding my dog here since 2019. I have always been really happy with how they treat my dog who is pretty shy but ends up loving the crew and usually knows her peeps when she comes back! From the recent online reviews I was hesitant about boarding especially because she would have her own food which she is picky with but they took good care of my Lilers! Turns out they noticed she was picky with her food and gave her some wet food to supplement her to make sure she was eating enough. Thank you! I am still trying to find the best food for her but I am so happy that she didn't go hungry during her stay! If you are considering boarding with Best Friends I can't recommend them enough! Your pup is in good hands and gets plenty of play time!

The staff at Best Friends Pet Care was very helpful and accommodating. We got our dog in no problem for a day camp stay. We told them we might be a few minutes late of their official pick up time for the evening and they told us it was no problem and that they would do whatever we needed. They took pictures of our dog throughout the day having a nice time, gave us a report card of how he did for the day and our dog was very happy after leaving after having a fun day with the other dogs. Will definitely be returning!

Great rates. Our dog always comes home happy after playing with the staff during her stay. She also comes home smelling good after her bath. The staff is friendly and informative. They also send pictures of your pet during their stay. I travel often and Best Friends in Lansing makes it easy and affordable to board my dog. I highly recommend them to everyone.

We take out 1 year old brothers there for play and stay to teach them socialization. The staff are great and really seem to care about the dogs. I get reports on their socialization goods and bass every time I pick them up.

The staff takes excellent care of my two dogs and keeps us updated daily by posting pictures on social media and emailing photos. I was also very satisfied with the obedience training my puppy went through. I would drop him off for camp each morning while I went to work and come back and Tiffany and/or Melissa would let me know what they worked on and they would build on his training each time I would drop him off for camp. It was very convenient for me to be able to drop him off for camp and have him going through obedience training with a skilled instructor while I was at work! This allowed me to have my evenings free to go through what he learned at school. Melissa and all the staff are extremely caring and loving with all the pets. Overall, I highly recommend!

Our dog attends Best Friends for weekly daycare and has also boarded overnight several times. Melissa and her staff are kind and sincerely care for all the dogs who stay with them. Our boy comes home happy (and tired) everytime.When he was young, we also took advantage of the training services offered. Ms. Tiffany is amazing! Our boy was leashed trained and responding to commands in no time.It's hard to leave your fur baby behind but I've never worried about the quality of care my boy receives at Best Friend's.Thank you, Melissa, Tiffany and staff for loving and caring for our special boy like he's one of your own!

Today we had our Australian Shepherd groomed. We are thoroughly unimpressed. It’s as if he wasn’t even bathed- I can still feel his flea and tick treatment in his fur that we applied to him a week ago and he doesn’t smell fresh at all. When we got him home we had to thoroughly brush him out as he was shedding CLUMPS of hair. The cut is choppy and his paws were not touched. For the three hours he was kept there I am very disappointed in the service provided. Would not recommend.

Couldn’t ask for a better place to keep my baby girl Either when I am working (for day camp) or traveling (overnight or week stay) I think she loves Mellisa and the staff more than me sometimes! They sure do spoiler her like she is their dog. Mellisa and the staff Tiffani, Tony and all of them really go out of their way to take special care of each and every pet they share the day or week with! The team is really amazing!!!

Unfortunately we didn’t even get the chance to take our dogs here. We sent over our vaccination papers for our dogs a month before they were going to be staying. I had to contact them in order to make sure everything was set…. They let us know ONE week before we were going out of town that our dogs could not go there because the vaccination papers weren’t accepted. We have absolutely no way of getting them revaccinated in a week. TERRIBLE SERVICE AND COMMUNICATION. They screwed us over for our vacation.

I have been sending my dog to Best Friends in Lansing for 2 years now. Melissa (the manager) has been awesome to work with! Her and her staff make sure my little man is always spoiled and taken care of. I recommend their boarding or day care services over any other place in the area!

This is in regards to their grooming services. A few months ago, we couldn't have been happier with our husky's grooming at this place. She came back smelling lovely, completely clean and without any additional tufts of fur sticking out from her coat. We found out today that the groomer left because she was concerned about the cost - she was throwing in "extra services" such as brushing and scent sprays because she thought this place was ripping people off apparently. We now agree with her. Today when we picked our dog up, she looked no different from when we dropped her off. Her fur still had dirt in it. Her coat was still blowing out fur. Had we wanted the "de furring", we were told it would be an extra $20. Plus more to smell good. This will be our last time using their services. We'll try to find the groomer that left.

I was hesitant to leave my Calloway in the kennel while we went on vacation. After I talked to them on the phone and then dropped by for a visit, I felt very much at ease. I called mid week to see how she was doing, and they made me even more comfortable about leaving her. They told me she wasn't eating much and wondered if they could introduce her to some wet food. I said feel free and I guess she must have liked it cause she was eating just fine. They sent me a couple of emails w/pictures and Callie looked liked she was having a good time. If and when I need to leave Callie again, I would not hesitate to leave her at Best Friends again. I think they did a great job with her.Charlene
