Ordered some gravel for driveway over the phone and had it delivered within a few hours. Ted the driver was very accommodating as to where I wanted the gravel dumped. Suburban was very easy to work with. I like that they are local and had an actual person answer the phone. Great job!

We've ordered many times from Suburban and each time it's been a good experience. Most recently was for a driveway project. We ordered gravel and large & small rocks. It was good looking gravel....I mean, it was gravel after all, but the finished project looked really good compared to what we had before so I'm calling it "good looking gravel". We also had fun arranging the great assortment of rocks they dropped off. Suburban has nice folks to deal with and a good assortment of stuff we like to keep us coming back.

Never ordered mulch before. They made it quick and easy on the website, delivered when they said they would, and the driver was very nice. He got all of the mulch exactly on the tarp I had laid out in the driveway. Very happy with the service and price!

I’ve been using Suburban for 8 years. Their delivery has always been top notch and good prices. They dump gravel while moving to make it much easier to spread on my driveway. This year (2021) the top soil they delivered was about 1/3 gravel 2/3 dirt (see pics, those are rocks not little dirt clumps). They also make you sign a waiver about the topsoil. One of my neighbors I was talking to said they had the same issue with their topsoil from Suburban. The grass I planted using it only grows in patches because some areas don’t have enough dirt to support growth. This is why they only get 3 stars. I will have to find a different place to get my topsoil, but they’ll still be my go to for other landscaping supplies.

About a week ago, I ordered a lot of mulch (35 yards) for my house from Suburban Landscape Supply. I placed the order over the phone, and Suburban Landscape Supply delivered all 35 yards to me the same day in two separate deliveries because it was such a large volume that it required two trucks. The delivery driver was great and dumped it exactly where I wanted.The overall quality of the mulch is probably an A-/B+ or so. It was shredded well and contained almost no trash or debris. I saw zero garbage wood or pallets; it was all good quality mulch. The sole reason for my slightly-lower than a full “A” grade is because there were many sticks in the mulch, but that is not the worse thing in the world.I’ve ordered mulch many times over the years from a variety of landscape companies, and this was by far the best quality mulch that I have received. Going forward, I will only be ordering mulch from Suburban Landscape Supply. Excellent experience!!

While the service was great. Friendly and prompt. The top soil I ordered and got delivered was very very clay heavy. I'll have to remediate my soil to deal with and break down all the clay. Probably killed portions of my yard it's so much clay. It all just congealed once it got wet.

Updating my previous review from 2 stars to 4. I was contacted by Mark and he wanted to make sure I was satisfied and offered and delivered 2 yards of peat to add to my soil. That kind of customer service is appreciated and valued and will make me a return customer.I purchased 5 Yards of their advertised “premium” garden soil for my flower bed. What I received is full of clay, very compacted heavy dirt. Not what I consider ideal garden soil for a flower garden and with a lot of $$ spent on flowers waiting to be planted I had no choice but to put them in the ground. I’m hoping that money spent and a lot of work is not all for nothing. I will probably have to spend even more time and $$ on soil amendments to try and improve the quality of the CLAY They delivered.

I order 10 yards of planting mix and recieved it fine. It seemed to be mostly compost. I was okay with that. But I ordered anather 12 yards of planting mix, and recieved topsoil that was mostly clay. Needless to say, I will order my landscape need else where from now on.Sburbanhas always been good in the past

Great service. We've used them for topsoil so we actually had grass, sandbox sand, and gardening soil. Each time they've given good counsel on what we should use, arrived as promised, and honest in their pricing. I will definitely keep using them. They're also the only place in our area that carries michigan certified peat to help with gardening. They sell out fast though.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The first year I order mulch delivery, they delivered the wrong color, red. I ordered natural. Then I used them again the following year to give them another chance. I noticed more bugs in the mulch then normal. Spread the much around he house anyway. I then began noticing the same bugs getting into my house. My home is very clean. I looked up what the bugs online. They were small cockroaches. I immediately called Suburban Landscaping. After 3 messages left I finally spoke with the manager. The manager seemed concerned and told me he would call me back the following day with a solution. That was 3 weeks ago. I have called since then twice and still have not gotten a call back. Do not use this company. They are a joke.

Update: 3 to 5 stars for fantastic customer service.Literally moments after posting, Mark reached out to work with us on finding a solution. He explained that there were issues with obtaining good soil lately, but none-the-less offered a prompt solution. This was not necessary as it was our misunderstanding, and unexpected. Thank you very much Mark!Original:Incorrect information.Just wanted compost. Recommended this garden soil mix. Verbally was told the mix was 50/50 topsoil/compost. Cool. Instead, website shows it is mixed with peat. And from the look of my raised beds, dried peat. This soil does not hold moisture (nature of dried out peat). Day of delivery rained, heavy soil... next day, extremely dry and rocky. There is also mixture of sand (large chunks that had to be broken down) along with clay dirt chunks (also needed to be broken down). Still large chucks that need to be broken down. And because of intervals between the rain and lack of moisture retention, I have created cement lots in my 3 raised garden beds.Will need to re-amend soil to be able to retain moisture with true compost and mulch. Not sure if this is even possible. Will lose the crop I planted, in order to do this. Cannot recommend the garden soil for a vegetable garden.Shame on us for not being thorough and clear. Take this as a warning. Make sure you know soil types before ordering and ask for someone knowledgeable.Otherwise, received on time.

Got ten yards of top soil and it was not good. All rocks even though it was said to be sifted. Could barely level it properly it was so bad. That said delivery was easy and in time just poor quality product.
