I purchased a pair of Dakota pants on sale in Spring 2023 and waited until I wore them for a season before I posted a review. So far, I am pleased with the purchase. The pants are lightweight and comfortable. They stretch and are good for walking on rough and uneven terrain.The nylon facing material extends higher than usual and does a good job of protecting your upper thighs. It has proven to be durable (still looks new). Unfortunately, the heavy briars where we hunt rabbits were not as kind to the stitching that frayed and pulled (see photos). Hopefully, this will not affect the durability of the pants. I also wish that the cuffs were just slightly wider so I could wear my Alpha Burly boots.UPDATE: Less than 2 hours after I posted my review, I received an email from company president Brent Pike. He explained the cause of the stitching problem and told me to return the pants for a new pair. What amazing customer service (and on a Sunday afternoon)! Thank you Pyke Gear!!!

I bought these to take advantage of a sale. What I am looking for are hunting brush pants that can deal with cholla cactus spines. I won't know if they are effective until next hunting season, but these pants seem very thin.

The pyke socks are the nicest hiking sock I’ve ever worn, I usually get sweaty feet fairly quickly and I have yet to experience sweaty feet in these socks, even after 3 days of wearing them straight. Their heavy pants are extremely comfortable and fitting, they don’t get caught on briars and don’t make you sweat either, I am very happy with their products!

Super easy to navigate and do transactions on the Pyke website. I recently bought my second pair of the Dakota Upland Brush pants. I now have them in the olive color and the new tan color. They fit very well and thus far are very durable. I'm retired and I hunt an average of 3 days a week during the regular season. I begin with with forest grouse and then partridge, quail, and chukar. I also hunt phez at a preserve for their legal extended season. The terrain, ground cover, and weather conditions may vary but the pants are always comfortable. I figure that these two pairs, short of some unfortunate event, will last me until I can no longer hunt. I describe the pants to hunting buddies as "the upland pant you always wanted but never seemed to be available."

The absolute worst customer service. My experience - returned an item, but they refused to refund me, nor would anyone respond to my many attempts to contact the company. I had to dispute the charge on my AMEX after receiving an email confirmation they had received my return, and I allowed the time-line they specified to issue the credit. Be warned - if you attempt to return an item you may not be reimbursed, and they do not respond to attempts to contact them.

Used my new Wingman Pro B2 out on the Oklahoma prairie. Fantastic light game bag. Although light, lower and upper buckles fit nicely and provide all day support and comfort for carrying additional gear. Highly recommend!

Just received my 1st pair of pants,Interesting fabric looking forward to see how dry they keep me this fall upland guiding. This why the 3 starsJust had the opportunity to use my new pyke pants in the most extreme conditions guiding.Just snowed the night before leaving the 2 - 3' sorghum tops covered in snow, plus the temperature went from 30 degrees to 35 degrees in 3hrs, the pants legs were completely covered in wet snow at times and shook off by walking over 8 miles in the field.AWESOME !!

My Pyke pants are probably the most versatile pants I have ever owned. Their light weight and breathability worked great for quail in 75 degrees in Georgia and the pant’s wind-breaking and hydrophobic qualities performed perfectly (over thermal bottoms) while hunting pheasants in North Dakota in snowy, windy 10 degree conditions. ...and they were super comfortable to wear in both cases!

I bought a pair of Dakota Upland Brush Pants and Northcutt Shooting Gloves for a hunting trip to South Dakota. The pants were perfect- they were comfortable, warm and flexible enough to allow me to step over and around anything in front of me. They handled brush and briars with no problem The gloves were excellent and kept my hands warm in 35 degree weather (although any colder and I would have went for something a bit more significant). Although a little pricey, I would highly recommend the pants and gloves. Seems like they will both last a lifetime.

Ordered uplands pants and needed them in a hurry! Turns out they were out and they did everything to get me what would work before my trip and went above and beyond what you would expect from most companies. Turns out the tongass pants worked out very well!! I will still be purchasing the upland as well! Great job and thank you for making such a great product and amazing service. Keep up the hard work. It's not easy to do right now!

I recently bought the vest and I thought I had a pretty good vest before but pyke’s vest blew my other vest away, the all day comfort and that you can adjust wear stuff goes on the belt line is awesome. I know it’s not cheap but you won’t be happier that you bought it

I find all of my Pyke Gear to be great. The vest can be customized however you want, the new Garmin 200/300i holster is solid. My Tongass pants are so much lighter, tougher and comfortable compared to my old canvas style. It’s just quality gear with the best customer service I’ve experienced in recent times. Try it, you’ll like it.

These pants are definitely tough. Especially when you are ready to get your wallet out and the pants zipper is stuck really stuck.Couldn’t even get the zipper open with a pair of pliers. Some what embarrassing when you are trying to pay for something. My next move was explaining the situation and then going to the restroom to actually cut my wallet from my pants. This actually happened again two days later with the other pocket. Upon returning these pants I had to pay the shipping. 0 stars was not an option. Save yourself a lot of embarrassment by a different brand of hunting pants

I really like Pyke Gear. Everything I have purchased from them is great. I hope to see them expand with more products. Great company for hunting and outdoor gear and in the Upper Midwest. I love the fact that they strive to make products in the U.S. I also hope to see them have more online forums with the Ruffed Grouse Society and other wildlife experts regarding grouse and woodcock. Pyke Gear has set the bar high with its Kiowa line of pants and shirts.The fit, comfort and performance is unrivaled. You can tell a significant amount of effort was put forth in product development. They perform in varying conditions without issue, and hold up to numerous hours in the grouse woods. The moisture wicking fabric makes them dry quickly in the field and also makes for a more comfortable post hunt tailgate! I'm looking forward to the next line of product offerings!

I love my Pyke Gear pants. I wore them in Oklahoma last week and they handled long days afield and a variety of temperatures. Looking forward to more Pyke Gear in my future. Update: I have added to me Pyke Gear arsenal after having such terrific results with my Kiowa Pants. The Wingman vest has been a super addition to my days in the grouse woods this Fall. Ease of maneuvering through cover, carrying shells, birds, and water with a breeze....this is likely the last vest I'll ever own.

The Wingman is WONDEFUL! I've purchase a ton of outdoors products for the past 45 years and have too many "latest and greatest" things that were often good but nothing like this Wingman vest. It's great. It's off the charts comfortable. I can forget about it and just hunt. The straps stay in place on my shoulders and the belt not only carries the weight but keeps the center of gravity high on my body. My foldable dog water bowl and extra dog water STAYS in the bag when I fall. My "emergency" pouch (headlamp, chapstick and TP) also stay in the bag and I can still put three pheasants in it as well. It's just plain easy to hunt with this vest. I had a really tough time laying out the cash (cause I'm Dutch) but it was worth every penny. Thanks Pyke for great gear. Best vest ever. I've had many over the years. My other Pyke gear is great as well but I can't find the words to really say how much I love this vest.

I haven’t gotten to test the gloves I purchased in the field yet (it’s June), but they fit well and was happy the sizing guide was accurate. I tested out how my grip felt holding my primary shotgun during pheasant season…I was impressed with how much control I felt I had wearing these gloves. I have struggled for many seasons on finding the right gloves to wear when it started getting cold out. Can’t wait to test them during the season.

I purchased a pair of Kiawah Upland Pants last year and really loved them. However, I really wanted to add another rear pocket to the pants. I talked to Mr. Pyke directly (who called me back promptly) and we talked through some options. He offered to send me a pocket from their USA factory to have it added on my end. He sent it to me for no charge and I had a local alteration shop add it to the pants very easy. Mr. Pyke was very attentive and friendly to deal with. The addition of the additional rear pocket to these pants makes them perfect. I am planning on purchasing some of their other pants models and will probably try and add another pocket too. How great it is dealing with someone who is truly geared towards customer service and genuinely nice. It's an added plus Pyke Gear is made in the USA. I try and buy all my gear which is made in the USA. Thanks again.

Top notch upland gear that I expect to wear well and last a long time. Vest, gloves, pants, shirts - all really great quality. Customer service is great. Great gear and great customer service. I bought a pair of Kiowa pants last week that I had to exchange out. I was able to speak to Brent (the owner) personally and was given a return label within minutes and had replacement pants and a free hat 3 days later. Can't say enough about the customer service and am excited to get into the grouse woods with my new Kiowa Pants!
