Very affordable prices and friendly staff. I would recommend this place to anyone with a pet. Got my dog spayed and three days later looked like she had an infection I called them right away and they said send pictures so they can evaluate it. They prescribed her antibiotics right away and reassured me that my dog would be fine and call back if I had further worries. She's all well and healed now.

Over a year ago, I needed to say goodbye to my beloved kitty of 18 years. My vet couldn't get me in for weeks. This lovely humane society got me in the same day I called. The staff was friendly, empathetic, and compassionate. They even sent me a hand written sympathy card a week later ❤️ I can not express how much I appreciated their kindness. Having to say goodbye to our fur babies is so difficult. Go see these wonderful people, they will take care of you and your fur baby!

Recently a very dear friend of mine had his cat spayed there. My wife, who works for him happened to schedule for him and drop off our precious shop mascot for her spay. Prior to this I had nothing but good things to say about the place and their staff. We had our own cats spayed and neutered there and everyone was friendly and kind when we dealt with them. This brings me to my point. As I said, my wife dropped off the cat. When she dropped off the cat people looked at her like she was terrible because the cat is Dyed pink! She is dyed pink because she is completely white and 100 percent deaf. So last winter the salon decided to dye her so she'd be visible in the winter snow if she gets outside like she sometimes likes to do. She is a grooming salon mascot and everyone in the area loves her and her color. Vegan pet friendly dye was used. The same dye that's used on clients animals. She wasn't harmed at all and enjoyed her coloring.I'm upset because the staff later called my wife because she was the contact person and they degraded her for declining an e-collar at check in. My wife politely declined because they already had one ready for her. When my wife declined, she was spoken to very rudely with an attitude by whomever the woman that talked to her when she declined.Next is what makes me the most angry. When the shop owner, my dear friend went to pick up the cat he was lectured on how terrible it was of him to have dyed the cat. He was also lectured about his cat carrier as well. The very same cat carrier that many people use and even others waiting in the lobby were using as well. This is unacceptable, it's not like Barbie is a toy cat or an accessory, she was dyed for her own safety! Not to show off. She lives in a salon on a very busy road. All of the neighbors know to watch for her if she escapes, because she did once. That is when the decision was made to dye her. She ran straight into South Riverview traffic! She did this because she is completely deaf and is afraid of nothing! Now, I don't know why they treated my friend this way. I don't know if they made the assumption that he dyed her like that so she'd be an accessory and for attention. I assure you, that's not the case with Barbie. Everyone at the salon is a co-owner of her. They all takes turns bringing her home with them and letting her live the best cat life ever playing with everyone's pets and getting all the snuggles, attention and play time. She is very well loved and cared for. Shame on the Humane Society for assuming that she was not treated well because she was colored.

Worst thing is to have to put your pet down but if ever in that situation, I highly recommend you call and schedule at our local Humane Society. They have some of the most compassionate people on their staff! I’ve been to our vet to do this and The Humane Society was so so much better of an experience for what it was! They actually care about your pet as well as you! Very warm and fuzzy feelings about this wonderful place!

Staff was terribly rude ! Ingred proceeded to call me a liar when saying I have a child in the car, didn’t even bother to apologize when she seen them herself inside the building. Then tried to claim I abuse my dog when going to get her fixed, and told me “not to tempt her” when I explained shes on strict diet that her actual vet put her on. Anywho she somehow got my NEW address (I never provided them with) and sent animal control to my house for my dog. DO NOT COME HERE.

"Aggressive behavior will not be tolerated"The receptionist staff and vet techs were all very friendly and helpful; 5 stars all around for them. I was dissatisfied with Dr. Loeffer as she was condescending and exceptionally rude. The other staff were able to help and should be left to dealing with customers if Dr. Loeffer is unable to educate and interact in a kind manner.

Mr Bear needed his yearly check up. Being in SS my budget has gotten tight. I was impressed with the atmosphere, the personnel and the services provided. Mr Bear and I felt part of the team in setting up treatment plans and deciding how his needs could best be met.

Terrible visit! worst experience I ever had in my entire life!! Took my dog in who has anxiety to see the vet since we moved to a new location. I explained to the tech that we don't necessarily need any services/ vaccines on the first visit just wanted to have the dog meet the vet first. technician was nice, but the vet < who is the medical director of the place> walked in with a bad attitude, refused to deal with the dog without prior medicating him, which we were not opposed to. I offered to pay for a tech visit since the tech spent some time collecting info, but after waiting for almost an hour to check with the vet, they said I would still have to pay a full rate for this visit, and the rescheduled one.THEN the tech walked me out to ensure that I paid. VERY HUMILIATING!! given that if I wanted to walk out, I could have, instead of waiting to hear back. And afterwards, they send me a letter stating that they will mark my acct and that I should transfer out... DR LOEFFLER is very RUDE, unprofessional and not the way a healthcare providers should be practicing. She doesn't know how to deal with animals apparently. Also she filled prescriptions for the dog using my license after saying that she will recommend meds, without asking if I wanted them. seems like they are just trying to make money than actually care! IF you want a more affordable service, it is a good place but if u want a vet that takes care of your Pet's wellbeing , NOT IT>>>

normally i highly recommend this place because everyone is so friendly and the first time i came here with my cat for a neutering everything went smoothly but i had an appointment almost 2 weeks ago with my newest cat and everything seemed to go fine with him as well until i noticed he had gotten worms. not sure where else he would’ve gotten them from since he is an indoor only cat and he also had to get tested in order to get vaccines here and all his tests came back negative.edit: called them monday morning to see if they could help with the worms, said they can get me a prescription made up for him, going on day 4 of waiting after they said it would take 24 hours for it to be ready. i called today and they said the request was never even put in even though they have record of me calling monday… so now i have to wait even longer. it was clearly their mistake and all i’ve gotten was a “we appreciate your patience”.

I went there recently for the food bank. They were very nice and helpful. I received 2 large bags of cat food and 1 large bag of litter. When they were located on westnedge, I had all my cats spayed and neutered. They actually let me work inside the building to pay for the spaying and neutering. How awesome is that ! They rely on donations, so help an animal today and donate dog food, cat food, litter, treats and other items, which they can tell you further details about. I'm sure they take money donations also, which will help with other expenses. It's nice to have a place nearby to help our pets out when we can't.

Im very happy with the service, The staff and Doctor did great with my Dog Apollo, However the scheduling need to be changed, appointments are only scheduled monthly, and its almost impossible to get in lately. Owners/Management needs to address this situation! I dont feel like i should have to find another vet due to this issue!

I called 2 days in a row about a dog dying in a cage outside and hasn’t been let out of his cage in 5 days now! You said you would go get him today and you haven’t! He’s going to die any day now! I’ve done what I could with in my safety measures to save him not it’s on you! Do your JOB and save this poor baby!

I stopped in to make a donation. Friendly accommodating staff. The donation form did not have a space for saying the donation was in memory of someone and being able to name that person. I reported that I couldn't complete the donation on line. The transaction wouldn't go through despite the information being correct and complete.Nice new facility. Thank you Charles and Lynn. 🐕

I have had 2 of my kitties spayed/neutered here as well as a dog. The staff and volunteers are incredibly nice and truly care for your fur babies. My dog was sensitive to the anesthesia and I called right away and they got me in 30 minutes later and got her feeling better. The OFI program is a true help to those who need it. Thank you for all you do!

Very friendly, helpful and caring staff. They had to deal with my German shepherd and he's a handful as he didn't want to be left there but they did great with him. The place was very clean. Great communication.

I needed to have my female cat spayed my vet was going to charge me $500 for it. The Kalamazoo Humane Society charge me $85 for it and they included all the vaccinations and a chip. Highly recommend contacting them if you need to have your cat spayed or neutered, however be where there is a long waiting period. Usually about two to three months so take that into account.

The Kalamazoo Humane Society is amazing, they have gone above and beyond for me and my cats. My cat got neutered there and he ended up having some gastric issues and the staff was so incredible, they went out of their way to get him care and emergency meds and fluids. They have continually kept in contact with me about his wellbeing and I can't say enough to thank the staff at KHS!

Doesn't respond to email inquiries or phone messages. They want to help animals, but refuse to respond back when animals need help.

Everything about this place is incredible. I was able to gety dog spayed for a tiny fraction of the cost of the having it done at the veterinarians office. And to top it all off, I never felt, in any monent, that I was getting less than the best service around. All of the ladies there were not only friendly, but knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I would recommend contacting the humane society before anyone else for your pet care needs. The only down side is that my dog seems really mad at me about the cone.....lol

We found an abandoned female cat that was injured and took her in. She was in bad shape and within a week it became clear she was pregnant. Our vet helped us care for her and as the pregnancy came to a successful conclusion we found ourselves with 5 little fur balls, all healthy. It was then the realization of the cost of taking care of these little lives became apparent! A family member took responsibility for one of the kittens and we had four left...We finally found KHS and had all four kittens neutered. The care they received was excellent! We were able to have first shots, chips and all of our questions answered. The staff gave us advise on how to place adds. We had another successful adoption and made wonderful new friends with the family that adopted one of our kittens! Thank You to all of the dedicated people at KHS who make this possible. The cost of a traditional vet service would have been prohibitive for us; instead there is a happy outcome with beautiful, loving animals that are indoor members of our family :) I would love to see a follow/up clinic for shots and other basic wellness services in the future!

Rue received the best care at this particular society. Was recommended to get him a muzzle in order to control the biting issue he has.
