Jenn, Dawn, And Lily are always helpful and always say hi the second you walk through the door. Great customer service when you need help finding things they will show you exactly where it is. So glad to have such nice people at the neighborhood dollar general.

I got off work at 9:00 pm in Gaylord and decided to stop at the Johannesburg DG because they supposedly closed at 10:00 pm. I arrived there at 9:35 and the employees were outside talking. This is b.s. Because I could have stopped at the one in Gaylord but it was a little biy out of my way... Absolutely ridiculous!

Stopped in to check the place out while visiting down the road.Nice frozen food section!! They sell beer and wine. A decent selection of dry cereal. Their 2liter Pepsi is cheaper than Walmart. Snacks galore! I bought a box of salted carmel brownie mix to whip up. They had green pepper Cholula hot sauce. YAY! Why is that so hard to find around Gaylord? THANKS Johannesburg!They have a whole aisle of feminine products, no worries there! And tons of everything you need or do not need, but you buy it anyways, ha!The clerk was upbeat and cheerful. She was very friendly, which is always a bonus nowadays.

One of the worst stores I have been to. The manager seems overworked and on edge. Almost makes you paranoid just walking in. There was 3 people just standing at the register on there phone. I walked up put my stuff on the counter and the guy just walked outside and the 2 ladies sat there on there phones. Somthing you expect from teenagers.You think with new management they would have it figured out. I'm not sure what's going on outside of the store with all the scrap but it looks like a hazard and an eyesore along with all of the bags and cigarette butts in the parking lot. I am thinking I will not be shopping here again. I recommend going to Lewiston. Sarah knows what she is doing.

Bathroom has been “broken” for months. A functioning bathroom should be any businesses priority! If you can’t even get your bathroom to work you shouldn’t be open. My toddler has to ride home in pee soaked pants now. Thanks DG.

This place needs to shut down. Fire all the employees, and start fresh. They can't open or stay open on time. The ladies working always seemed frantic and overworked. This is by far the WORST STORE, I've ever been to. The community really needs it which is a shame, they can't find good workers. It's a waste of time wondering if today is the day they are going to be open. I heard today when I went there and it was closed. A lady said she drove an hr to work but isn't a key carrier, and the store manager is on vacation in Florida. SMH 😡🤬😠

Johannesburg has a brand new one, but it’s the staff and personnel that make it the best of them all in Otsego County to shop. They are so friendly and helpful they nearly make you feel like family from the moment you walk through the door both ways. When I have to shop dollar general, I shop dollar general Johannesburg Michigan.

The current store hours are the most rediculous hours ever for this type of store. 8-5?? What about the people that work? And now I go there on Saturday and they're not even open. Get this store open full time or close it permanently!!!!! Get a real manager in the store that people actually want to work for!
