The only negatives I saw was the concrete that needed to be fixed by the door and they do not have buttons to open the doors. I am assuming they use the side door for wheelchair accessibility because the main has steps. Our server was awesome. Menu prices are a little high though. My one scoop hot sundae was $10 but that one scoop is huge and well worth the money.

The tables weren’t clean, the service was lousy, the ice cream dishes were 1/2 the size they used to be, and nearly all of my favorites from the last time I was there, were gone. It took nearly 10 minutes from the time I sat down to the time someone took my order. I ordered a hot fudge sundae, and it was the size of a sundae from the children’s menu, and was the price of the adult version that they used to have.When I was ready to pay my bill, the cashier was busy getting ice cream orders for walk in customers, which was fine, but no one, not even the manager/owner came out to help the cashier out. When the cashier finished with the walk in customers, he said he was going to check them out first. I had been waiting about 5 minutes. The last person of the walk in group was nice and suggested I be checked out ahead of them. I paid my bill and left.I was very disappointed, and probably won’t be returning.

I remember visiting this place as a child in the 80's and it was so amazing. I was in the area yesterday and decided to take my kids for the first time. What a waste! I remember how gigantic the portions were, that's no longer a thing. There used to be lines to get in, not any more. The service was terrible, we were served one order at a time. When one person finished the next person got their order, it took forever and was weird how staggered the service was. They never brought drinks. They never brought the check. We just left the money on the table and left. The bathroom was disgusting. Dried blood on the side of the toilet and goo around the bottom. Super dirty. I was very disappointed. It used to be a really special place. It's changed for the worst.

We went tonight over an hour before close, were told “we would be the last customers they served, they were done.” Not only did nobody want to come serve us, a guy from the kitchen (with greasy clothes) came to try and serve us ice cream and between him & the cashier bickering about what they did and didn’t have it was completely awful! A couple came in behind us and they tried to refuse to serve them ice cream. The three workers told the couple “we’re all out and done serving.” There was a lot of ice cream there and with persistence the couple was able to get ice cream. The cleanliness was not great, and the staff was definitely not great. Sad that this business has continued to change hands and only go downhill.

Stopped for a bite to eat as we do 1 or twice a year as part of one of Or motorcycle rides. Had the chile dogs and fries. Only one other party was dining in and had already been served but it still took 10 minutes for the server to come to the table, 20 min for food to be delivered. Food was OK. Not good but eatable and not worth complaining about. Seems service and food is on the decline. But everyone is entitled to an off day!Dessert is always good!

So my family just spent 2 hours here. Happily, we saved another family from wasting 2 hours of their lives in the parking lot - they took our advice, got back in their car, and left. I saw a couple leave and turns out they just left a review too! So - our waitress NEVER smiled. Not once. They were out of 3 things we asked for. Never asked if we wanted water. I needed to repeat my simple order 3 times and it still came to me wrong. One person received half of their onion rings, was told more were coming, and then they came undercooked with zero flavor. One person didn't get onions on their pizza, so a cup of raw onions were brought out. The pizza was gross. My daughter wanted her wrap before her ice cream - of course, that didn't happen. She was grossed out by the undercooked bacon on her wrap. Everything came out at all different times, especially the last 2 orders which were literally just a scoop of ice cream into a bowl. They came about 20 minutes later, after our waitress cleared an entire table that a party just left. Many different attempts were made to get her attention. She couldn't have had any less sense of urgency. There was poop on the front of a toilet and no soap in any of the 3 dispensers in the women's restroom. Every time a person that went to pay their bill stood and waited probably about 5 minutes. We're not picky people. We won't be back.

Under new ownership and the place has already gone downhill! They didn’t have most of what we wanted, got out orders wrong, and then made the ice cream so slow that person 1 was finished by the time person 3 had their ice cream. We used to adventure to Jackson from the metro Detroit area just to get ice cream here. Brought our kids for the adventure today…sadly it will be there one and only time.

We went here for Mother's Day & birthday for ice cream. There were 6 of us. It took a long time to place our order even though it wasn't very busy. The service was just about the worst I've had in my lifetime. It was sloooww. My husband and I ordered a banana split to share. We were told that it came with fresh strawberries (and had seen the table next to ours get theirs with strawberries). Ours had no strawberries, fresh or otherwise. In fact, it had no banana or whip cream, either!! When I pointed this out to our server, he said they are "out of whip cream". Instead of apologizing about anything, he told us there is a banana at the bottom. I said, "Well, I couldn't find it." He started digging in the bowl for it (who does this?), but I don't think he ever found it. They had also put gobs of peanut butter (yes, actual peanut butter not syrup) on top (who does this?) & marshmallow cream on it, which I didn't want in the first place. (I told the waiter when I ordered, but he was in a hurry & not listening at all.) I declined a replacement and told him it was "gross". Still no apology! Our friends ordered turtle sundaes. They arrived with no caramel!! On top of everything else that had gone wrong, the items were served in the wrong dishes (i.e., hot fudge sundae in a banana split dish, turtle sundae in a regular bowl) which isn't a big deal except the portions seemed wrong as a result. Speaking of portions, they were small! People had told me they were huge back in the day. Probaby the worse part, was that each person in our party received their orders separately. One person was done eating their sundae by the time anyone else got their order. Thereafter, each person was served 5 minutes apart. When my friend complained to the owner/manager, she was told that 4 people called in sick due to Mother's Day. Well, thanks for making our special day a bit less enjoyable & not once apologizing for what turned out to be a disaster! P.S. I used to wait tables & am normally patient as a result, but this was a joke!

Went to The Parlour with my wife and daughters to meet up with family for Mother's Day. While waiting for everyone else to arrive, we decided to order the family pack of Coney Dogs and fries for lunch. Asked for a Dr. Pepper, and after waiting for about 15 minutes, was informed that they were out of Dr. Pepper. (No big deal, I thought, so I ordered a root beer instead. Should have known it was only going to get worse from there...) The fries were overcooked and salty to the point of barely being edible, and the Coneys were some of the greasiest I've ever had. Not only that, but The Parlour is simply heating up Toderoff's Coney sauce. How hard is it to come up with your own recipes?After meeting up with the rest of the family, everyone decided to order ice cream, which is when we found out there was only about two people running the show out front and one or two manning the kitchen. After everyone placed their orders....we waited...and waited...and waited....only to be informed "Sorry, we don't have any cream puffs for the Cream Puff Sundae." So, after having to switch up our orders, and more waiting...the waiter finally brings out one order and informs us of how short staffed they were at the moment. Eventually, after waiting to the point of seriously considering leaving for another ice cream stand, the rest of our orders started to arrive....one at a time. Rather skimpy portions, nothing like I remember from even a few years ago before The Parlour changed hands again.As we were leaving, my daughters and I noticed multiple flies buzzing around and swarming on the interior windows. Utterly disgusting, as this hints at underlying issues with sanitation!Long story short....this isn't The Parlour as I remember it from my childhood in the 1980s, and I probably won't be returning anytime soon.

Bring a jacket or sweater. It's so cold, after eating ice cream, we were all shivering. Awesome ice cream, great employees. Accessible to all, adequate parking. Been coming here for years and the quality of product and service remains high.

The food was good and they give you a ton if ice cream. The bowls are huge. I watched many people walk out without finishing all of their ice cream. Also the service was ok that's why I'm rating it 3 stars. There was 8 of us and it took well over 45 minutes to get everything we ordered. Also we only received 1 refill and that was about the time we were leaving. Things I would recommend are the peanut butter cup sundae and the fries. Both of those were delicious.

2 hours of my life I will never get back, and I only ordered a simple scoop of ice cream, which by the way I did not receive at the point I left. Although I gave 1 star for service, that is only due to insufficient options to give less. I will be shocked if this business remains open through the summer barring major changes, including the firing of the current staff that had its ineptitude on full display. I did my good deed for the day by advising other families that pulled in as we left to go elsewhere, which they greatly appreciated. I am not one to leave reviews, but the world needs to know, this place is Bad, Bad, Bad!!

I have been coming here for over 50 years; back when it was take out only. Table was sticky. Server couldn't figure out how to punch our order into the hand held device. Small portions. I was done with my melted ice cream before my wife got hers. When she did get hers it was wrong. No cream puffs. No shortcake. Bad experience. Don't bother coming. It's not the way it was. It is much worse. Will probably be closed soon.

Dude, gross… just gross. We were in there for less than a minute before we decided it was time to go. Not just leave, but make sure to swipe a few napkins on the way out so we didn’t have to touch the door handle. I haven’t seen that many flies in one place since the abandoned porta potty we found in the middle of the Mojave Desert. To make matters worse, they were in the ice cream freezers. My wife held her breath as she entered the bathroom only to find an employee exiting the stall and avoiding the sink and soap like the plague (which is ironic since I’m pretty sure we would have caught exactly that had we chosen to dine there). I thought that new ownership might have meant better conditions, but I’m convinced this place is just permanently cursed to offer fly filled ice cream with a side of botulism. That’s gonna be a no from me dawg.

A dream come true. This awesome place really do exist! The ice cream was amazingly good and surprisingly not too sweet. Super nice ambiance and friendly crew. Plenty of ice cream flavor selection and you can try their 21 scoop challenge!

We arrived at 7:50pm and after 10 mins of sitting I sent my daughter up to the counter to ask for a menu. The lady at the counter ignored her even after she asked nicely saying "excuse me" She returned to the table. I went up and got in line for ice cream so I could.talk to someone and ask for a menu. I overheard them telling the kitchen was closed and they were only serving ice cream. I went back to the table to get my kids to leave. When I got back to the table the waitress finally came up and addressed us, telling us the kitchen was in fact closed. I asked what kind of restaurant closes the kitchen an hour before closing? She said, Oh what time is it? I asked who owns the place and she said "Janet" I said Janet who? She didnt know. The dining room was filthy, dishes not cleared off the tables, etc. The service was worse. We won't be returning.

This is a place everyone should visit once. The portions are huge and it puts a smile on your face to get that much ice cream. The ice cream tasted like lower quality ice cream. The service was good as well. We did get a jr and regular banana split. It was a bit pricey, but the wow factor was worth it.

This use to be my favorite ice cream anywhere. Came in from Ohio and boy what a let down. 10 minutes to be seated. Another 5 before we got menus.The spicy chicken sandwich, let's start with these atrocities. A small chicken patty drowned in franks red hot. So much so you can't taste anything else.The Jr banana split. At one time these were sent by the gods. Not any more. Half a banana in the whole thing. A big bowl of ice cream with a Hershey chocolate sauce. Whip cream what's that.The new owner I beg you do this Jackson meca a favor and sell the place. The staff is horrible the place smells of standing water. And it's filthy. 5pm Friday and the parking lot is empty. You have personally did in one trip what my parents tried to do in a lifetime and destroyed my childhood. Have been a loyal customer sense the early 1980s. However as long as you own it I will never return.

We had to call over a waitress because of the lack of customer service and have to ask for a side with a $15 burger? It was freezer meat that was freezer burnt there was no peanut butter on my peanut butter and jelly burger and there was also no bacon that was supposed to be on my burger I wish I could give this place zero stars zero out of 10 would never recommend to anyone I've never been so disappointed in a restaurant. Food was so bad to the point where we either took one bite or didn't eat anything and only paid for one of the meals out of three.

I went there 2 times since the new owner and Got my order wrong multiple times and the young girls working there seems like they aren’t trained well and the owner isn’t helping and it wouldn’t seem like was the owner seemed very rude and not helpful to her staff or us coming in. The ice cream and stuff is still good. They are just out of a lot of stuff which is weird because it’s the ice cream parlor.

The new change in ownership can easily be recognized. They have made improvements to the dining area that were much needed. The ice cream is still just as HUGE and delicious as always. The staff are very friendly and prompt. We had a nice midday ice cream break with plenty to take home.

Wanted to go due to seeing an ad on Facebook. Waited almost 5 to 10 mins before someone asked if we'd been helped yet. All the meals we thought we got whas bot billed as meals. Everything was separate. Got some ice cream, mini scoops, like half the small they used to have. Final total was $95. Unfortunately we likely won't be going back.

Great charm. I heard this place goes back to the 1930s. Just tried the ice cream and not any of the food. We tried the topper parfait and the peanut butter parfait, both were excellent and requires an empty stomach. It gets crowded, especially on evening weekends. The have some crazy ice cream monster called The Dare, with 21 scoops and probably a half gallon of toppings, make sure to bring a dozen friends to eat this one , oh and $100.

The parlour is such an awesome place to visit! The decor takes you back in time, and the ice cream is some of the best in town. It's one of the gems Jackson has for a really great dining/dessert experience!

My family and I LOVE this place. The menu isn't long but what is there is cooked well, tastes good, and is filling. The ice cream and serving sizes are amazing. I had the appetizer of chili cheese fries & then 3 scoops of ice cream ( variety of flavors and delicious), I ended up with a to-go box because I couldn't finish it in one sitting. It ended up lasting 3 days. I definitely recommend this place to anyone that loves ice cream.
