Dollar General is a deep discount chain; so don't expect an upscale experience or people.That said the small size of a dollar general makes it very convenient to run in and grab something sometime you need like a box of pencils or a gallon of milk.

I have never felt so unwelcome to a store than I have when I went into the Dollar General store. The manager on that day was super rude and disrespectful to me. I waited in line patiently because they were super busy only making people use the self-serve machine. No checkout with an employee. The Manger comes up with such an awful attitude towards me. She rings me up while rolling her eyes at me and then I asked where I pick up my Dg pickup order and she grumbled and rolled her eyes at me again. Handed me my items and gave me the dirtiest look when I had said thank you. I will never buy from this store again..the staff is rude to customers now. I used to come all the time when Kathy worked there she was super nice. This Dollar General seems to be going down hill quickly.

I normally don’t do reviews because I don’t ever have a problem with places and knowing how customer service is (since I have only ever worked in customer service) I try to be super quick and unproblematic but last night at this Dollar General location on Cooper Street was god awful. The young lady working there was pushing people out, telling them to go up to the registers because we are closing in 5 mins, not giving me or anyone the time to grab what I or they needed, and after working two jobs that day, all I needed was a few items so I could finally eat for the day at almost 10pm (and trust me I knew they closed at 10pm that’s why I drove like crazy getting there and made sure I went straight to where I needed) but this young lady only concern was getting to leave on time or even as early as they could. I will never be shopping at this specific location because of her and her way towards customers. If you don’t like people or even working in customer service find a different job where it can meet your standards on the daily. Treat people the way you want to be treated, and I highly doubt if someone came into where I worked just a few minutes before close I wouldn’t be pushing them to the front before they grab all that they need, I would at the bare minimum ask if they need help and just causally remind them when we close without hesitation or attitude. Come on people do better, if you want better.

Always do my shopping at this store for just about everything. The service is great, very friendly and courteous. Get more for my money than the big store's. No crowds and the wait at the counter is minimal. The store has everything except meats, which is fine,I get my meats at Gordon's, they are great too. Experience at these two store's have always been 100% positive. I call these, my stores.

The cashier was right next to the counter talking to someone while I'm waiting to be checked out n TOLD me to ring the bell...I'm like umm...ur literally watching me put my stuff on the checkout...why I gota ring a bell...I'm so sick of ppl acting like they too good to work. Lazy str8 up BUMS in Jackson. Mostly.

Dollar stores can be so great. I needed a 2020 wall calendar for less than $20. Of course $1. But then you find more items and it adds up to $20. But got lots of great stuff!

This DG is dirty. Hard to get around with the cards full of product standing in the aisles. Girl at register was rude to a lady. Made her leave Then store cuz no mask. Just rude.. Will I go back, think not.

I go to Dollar General on Cooper by 94, most of the employees are very nice! I know everytime I've asked if let's say "pop" is on sale they instantly tell me. But I think they are understaffed, n they really need security there! I've caught 2 females shoplifting, and one man. The best part is they get to know u, n are kind n helpful. But security there is very lax. My daughter works there and there's been a few times some men r cruising the lot at closing time, n I feel the females are NOT SAFE! My sister n i both have had to remove men after store has closed just to make sure the women inside are safe! It always seems also they are always away from the counter putting things away, idk why they don't have staff for that specific duty "stock person". Someone should always be behind that counter!

This Dollar General has always been the cleanest one I've ever been in I know it's a newer store compared to most of the rest but you can tell when you walk into a place if it's clean because it's new or if it's clean because the staff do their jobs.

Great selection at great prices. I always find something new at Dollar General. It's fun just to go in and browse. They also have nice stuff for decorating the home, also at great prices.

I was looking at a Penney item when an employee snatched it out of my hand saying I can't buy that. Then why did you put it out there! ? Rude staff at some dg's. So snobby about Penney items. I'd only recommend some stores.

Just discovered this store. I live on West Ave. and go to the one on Wildwood but they ran out of what I wanted. This is the nicest Dollar General I ever saw. These stores are notorious for minimal staffing and high turnover but tonight this place was firing on all cylinders. The parking lot is a little tight so people who are lousy drivers/parkers should get someone else to take them there. There is an entrance on Hamilton which I will use in the future to avoid turning left onto Cooper street.

This place is always a pain they domt have enough people working there in a day they need to have at least 3 people or 4 always only 1 cashier that's a pain having to wait in long lines all the time to check out when there are 2 check out lanes but is always only 1 open they need to change alot of things at the cooper street dollar general 8n jackson mi ..

All Dollar General's are same, same, but different. I'm more fascinated by the fact that one moment you see an empty lot, and then the next, there is a Dollar General! We need to hire the Dollar General constructions workers to fix the Potholes in Michigan! On a more serious note, Vote for Pedro 2020!
