Fawn and Don have been running Brooks Corner for 3.5 years. It's my first visit after a weekend of canoeing and camping nearby. I've passed by but never stopped on previous trips but today felt like the day. I'm glad we did. Fawn runs the front of the house and John is the magician in the kitchen. We came for Sunday breakfast. Across six of us we tried many of the items with some of the best being Fawn's recommendations. All the griddle items were amazing, I've never seen a fluffier pancake in my life, it looked like it could be fake but it was amazing. Potatoes with peppers and onions were incredible. They could play the role of a main course, even for a dinner. But once of the best things we tried was the sausage gravy. It was so heavenly! We were told that there are some customers who purchase it in a five gallon bucket to take south for the winter. It's worth mentioning that everything here is made by scratch. And you can taste it! One other thing worth mentioning, they are open all year round, and on Thanksgiving last year they hosted a free thanksgiving dinner for the community serving nearly 100 people. This is destination dining here in Irons, Michigan at its best!!Kid-friendliness: My son Logan said he loved Fawn, the waitress, and he Loved the food.

Nothing wrong with the food, but the server was rude for no reason from the moment we walked in. We were all kind with please and thank yous, but that didn’t help. We had a party of 9 and there were 2 other patrons in the establishment, so it was not busy. Once we settled up and she saw the tip, she was a lot nicer. It just sucks to get treated like that when we drove out of our way to help this establishment that we know is struggling with no snow. Barski, Traks, or Oak Grove in the same general area have similar food and they’re happy to see customers walk in the door. The Oak Grove owner came over to our table and thanked our group for coming in to support his business. Nuff said.

Worse place ever. The lady that runs the place is rude. The food is awful. Stops cooking at 8pm. We travel alot and never seen such a rude waitress. The restaurant is huge and clean but she makes it awful

The food was great. The burgers were all made from scratch, and so were the buns. The waitress told us as soon as we walked in that she and the cook were the only ones in for the day, but 4 people were in the back. Wasn't happy that we still decided to stay with a party of 9. We had a couple of ladies with us who were waitress themselves and said that if they treated customers that way, they would be looking for other jobs. We saw why we were the only customers in the place at 3 pm on a Friday. But I can't say it enough. THE FOOD WAS AMAZING!!

If I could give zero stars I definitely would!!The woman who owns the restaurant is an awful human being. Our family sat for about 25 minutes without even being greeted with "sorry folks, we'll get to you shortly" and they weren't busy at all. Three other tables, that's it. Kept walking right by us without even acknowledging that we we're here. During this time one of those tables walked out right before we did, I'd assume for the same reason.She told another couple that came in after us "it's going to be a long, long time" the lady said no problem. Told her husband. Then she repeatedly "like a long, long time until you get your food just so you know"Then she finally came to our table I was already appalled at this point at rude demeanor and behavior. Slamming the silverware down stating " just so you know it will be a long time until your getting your food"The only reason we came was because other family members told us it was pretty good food and also warned us that the lady who owns it is rough and rude, talk about an understatement. But that the husband (the cook) always extremely nice when he comes out from behind the kitchen. Find a new partner before you lose your business. My family and I chose to walk out. Which is too bad because we tip generously and we will never give this place a dime of our money regardless of how good the food may be. She doesn't deserve it.Don't waste your time or money on this place!

What a find! Best breakfast around. Homemade bread for their French toast, homemade biscuits and gravy that are to die for and wonderful service. Plus the fact that you can get a Bloody Mary too is great If you haven’t given them a try it’s certainly worth the stop. They even have ice cream service nowKid-friendliness: Great atmosphere with lots of space for kids to run around

The owner a man is amazing his wife sucks. Her personality is a 0 for customer service. If the owner wants this restaurant to survive he better get rid of his wife working there. She hangs up on you when you call to see when they are open. She has turned us away twice. When she waits on you she makes you feel as if your a problem.Her service sucks period.Vegetarian options: Keto products, full veggys salads and omelette

This is a great place to stop for breakfast, lunch, dinner or bring your whole group for pizza and drinks after a long day because they can accommodate large groups.John & Fawn take great pride in the food they serve and make most if not all of it from scratch so you'll never leave dissatisfied.Brooks Corner gets Five Stars from me !

I really, really wanted to like this restaurant, but unfortunately that didn’t happen. It was just my son and I, along with two other small tables occupied in the restaurant. That said, the service was pretty awful. I never got a single refill on my coffee or our water through the entire meal. We saw the server when she dropped the food without saying anything, and when she dropped the bill. She was really angry and snippy, but I have no idea why. Rather than greeting new customers that walked in after us, she angrily snapped at them with a warning that it will be a while until they can get service. She seemed mad and annoyed that customers were showing up. I didn’t have the nerve to go get ketchup from another table (since we never got any), fearing I would get yelled at. The sausage gravy was good though, so there’s that. If you were raised by an angry mother that you had to walk on egg shells around in order to avoid a beat down, then this may be the place for you to relive those old awkward meals in silence. If not, I’d probably suggest you go somewhere else.

Stopped in because we were super hungry and forgot to pull anything out for dinner. The waitress seemed like she didn't want to be there. She handed us menus and took our drink order. Two minutes later she gave us our drinks and rushed us to take our order before we had a chance to really look at the menu. Four bites into our food she put the bill on the table. We were never asked for a refill. Let's talk food... If it weren't for our kids being hungry and me not eating anything all day we would have returned the food and left. The chips were small stale pieces from the bottom of the bag. There was so much salt and pepper on the burgers and fries that we had to wipe what we could off with a napkin just to make it some what edible. Our five year olds chicken strips and fries were salt and peppered too. Seriously!? Who salt and peppers a kids menu item!? The tater tots were delicious. Constantly had to swat flies away from our food. Won't be back. I'd rather eat cold hotdogs from dollar general.

My wife and I walked out before she could get our drinks. She acted like she didn't want us there, so we went down the road! I'll try again when the name changes.

Went in with high hopes. Instantly met by one of the rudest human beings I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. I had never been in here before but was staying not far away. They do not have a sign saying they are a restaurant and the building looks like a store. People came in thinking it was a store and the woman that runs the place talked so rude, disrespectful, and hateful about all the people that mistake the place as a store. She was so rude while taking our order we should have walked out but we were very hungry. I assure you this place will never get another penny of my money. When you go out of business and are wondering what happened, SHE happened! You should at least make her stay out of the restaurant and at most divorce her and find a kind decent person to partner with. To top off this terrible experience, the food was not how it was ordered.

We were in town for a camping trip, first sign of "bad news" was Oak Grove was Jammed Packed, not a table to be had, music was good but we were hungry, so we stopped at Brooks Corner (we were not truly sure if it was a store, restaurant, or bar).waitress but beyond rude and quite frankly the rudest we have ever seen. No wonder the bar/restaurant down the street was jammed packed. This worker (or owners wife possibly from previous reviews) will be the reason it goes under. I would place a bet no one wants to work with this attitude, rudeness and sadly ignorance.We will never be back while we come up for snowmobile season, there is far better places that we would rather spend our money at then be treated like we are a complete bother when there was a handful of people in the place. The best tip anyone can leave is a no tip for her ignorance

Called yesterday at 5:30 about a fish fry yep all you can eat, went in there at about 7:45 nope not all you can eat and you better hurry up and order if you want something else because the grill closes at 8:00pm...on a Friday night.The waitress was horrible rude and just wanted out of there because they serve breakfast and have been there all day is what she told other customers, so they left without ordering. She brought us one set of drinks never asked if wanted another. Food was good but this is the second time we tried it and will be the last because of the waitress, we heard she was gone that's why we tried it again. This lady doesn't need to be in customer service, if its to hard then sell the place!!!!!! We are locals and if she treats everyone like this I'm surprised ANYONE goes there

Even tho I got there after the grill was done for the evening. They made excellent mushrooms and cauliflower and the onion rings were so delicious and very kind and pleasant place to go and I will definitely go there again when I'm over that way.

At the time we dined in there was no one there and I understand why. The all the tables were dirty, and when we walked in the servers acted like it was an inconvenience to wait on us. On the limited menu, a burger is your best greasy bet because, in the middle of fresh fish country, your fish sandwich is a square pre frozen patty… sadly disappointed.

Excellent food! We went for breakfast and would give the food a 5 star - sausage gravy wonderful! But the server was rude our entire visit! We were a group of 8 and she acted like she didn’t want us there! Luckily there was another server who tried to compensate for the other severs terrible attitude! We won’t go back because of how we were treated!!

Terrible service. We walked in at 10:15 for breakfast on Sunday. At 10:30 we walked out along with 2 other groups that came in behind us. A group of 5, a group of 6, and 2 of us left at the same time, which had to have cost that restaurant a good chunk of change. All the lady who to do was be nice, explain she was by herself, and ask for some patience. Instead, she was rude and made everyone feel bad for even walking thru the door. Good Customer service goes a long way!

Food was good and waitress was very nice, but the cook acted as if we walked in 5 minutes before closing and placed our order (3:30pm). Even after tipping the waitress AND cook separately, she couldn't even say thank you. (We were the only customers so she had time) I'll be going to Speedy Bear from now on!
