We came here for a quick breakfast. We had three orders of two eggs, protein and a bread. I had an over easy, bacon and rye bread. My wife had scrambled, bacon and cinnamon swirl. My daughter had scrambled, croissant and bacon. We also had an order of French toast for my other daughter and her fiancé. Overall the food was good. We had to wait a bit but was expected due to the time of day. The ambiance of the location was great. We would come back again to this location

Bud’s is a great spot for breakfast! Close to all the other major attractions in Interlochen and plenty of space for seating. The decor is really cool too, lots of historical photos. Food was good!

Buzzing local coffeeshop/restaurant/local institution. It was a welcome site when a work emergency called for some quality laptop time while on vacation. That's right, I am the sucker. The food and coffee we're solid, about what you'd expect. Coffee was decent. One free re-fill plus a low cost, honor-system for additional re-fills. I appreciated the fast, free WiFi. The chocolate cherry cookie was above average.

This is my first choice for breakfast when I go back home. I cannot speak too highly of Bud's. It's an adorable place with tasty food. They have skillets, wraps, plates, sandwiches, coffee drinks, smoothies, and more... All served in environmentally friendly packaging. Don't miss it.

Stopped here on our way to traverse city and would do it again. Small town feel to this place with real homemade food. We got the Philly cheesesteaks and panini melt. Fantastic food. Got the coconut macaroon to go and I wish I got more. Great selection of coffees and teas. Very reasonably priced. They even have little handmade merchandise and funny cards.

We were passing through the area looking for food and ended up here. It's a nice atmosphere and staff were friendly. We ordered paninis and when we asked about the size, we were told "they're big, real big"When our food came though there was nothing but disappointment. The sandwiches were small. Mine in particular looked like it was off the kids menu and was the joke of our table.I've had lots of good paninis in my life but never one that wasn't brushed in oil prior to grilling. That was the case here. They didn't even look grilled and could best be described as lightly toasted. The toppings were sparse, and the flavor quite bland. We left disappointed and not full.

A great spot in Interlochen. We always stop here on the way from Frankfort to Traverse City. It’s a warm and inviting space- great for a conversation over coffee and yummy sandwiches or for a solo meal with a laptop. You order at the counter- lots of salads, burgers, and paninis to choose from. Also ice cream! Great espresso drinks, as well.

I gave one star because I cannot give zero and still post! First, the woman at the counter acknowledged me in a timely fashion, and I thought GREAT! But it all went down from there! Her rudeness overpowered her acknowledgement! She told me there was no way she could take my order, and that SOMEONE would try to get to me, sometime! I should have left then! I want these facilities to recognize that not every customer comes in every day, so some of us DON'T UNDERSTAND THE PROCEDURES and we are NOT there for your benefit!Once my order was finally taken by a gentleman, he vaguely gestured in the direction of the door... again, I should have left!!! Finally, I figured out how to find the simple coffee I actually came in for but once there, I was confused because the language of the writing on the pump canisters looked as if it was in Rhune or some other antiquated script!!! A local customer pointed out the regular coffee and I thanked her very much! Finally, the regular coffee had less than half a cup in it!!!I almost threw the contents of my cup on the floor along with the STALE pecan roll I ordered!I had no idea the roll would be stale, but after taking my less than half cup of coffee outside and going to the MI COFFEE vendor located north of buds, (to get a full cup of coffee) I tried the pecan roll and it was most definitely STALE!!!There was no best by date so I can only speculate on it being 2 days old...Will I return? NOT ON A BET!Would I recommend buds?NOT ON A BET!!!Bill Nelson

The food was hit and miss, the burger was great but otherwise the coffee cake was pretty rock hard, broke my fork a couple times lol. The atmosphere was very cool, it’s an order and it’s brought to you type of place. The service wasn’t the best at the time but that could be for any reason so I won’t hold it against the place. Just believe for the price it should have been a better experience/bigger food portions. The atmosphere is very cool however. If your interested in stopping in you should just to do it. The bacon cheese burger specifically is good!

This is a counter service restaurant, with tasty hand dipped ice cream and OK sandwiches. They had 12 people (that I saw) working on a Sunday afternoon, and only 2/3 of the tables full. Yet it took an hour to get our sandwiches. The kids meal options were not great, and the $6 cheeseburger was one single slider.Overall the ice cream was great, but I would not recommend eating here.

We waited an hour for our food after we ordered. It wasn't real busy. When the food arrived, it was barely warm. We checked on our order 3 times and were given 10 minute wait times each time we asked. Nobody ever offered any compensation (refund, partial refund, free dessert...). All in all, being close to a state park, they should be better at handling customer orders.

The food and the employees here were great. As out of town guests camping at Interlochen State Park, we enjoyed stopping in a couple of times for coffee, breakfast and lunch options. The employees are always super helpful, attentive, and very hospitable. We also appreciate the outdoor seating that could accommodate a smaller or larger group.

We come up to Interlochen every year in the summer. We’ve been coming here for a few years now… so we’ve been through this place at different times and I’m sure with different staff- It has been the same level of service every time. You will always be waiting for your food/drinks for at least 15 minutes- we’ve waited an 1.5 for our food. There seems to always be confusion or miscommunication for staff. I get it, I’m sure there is seasonal staff that comes and goes. We’ve had to get refunds and go up to the counter to figure what’s going on just like other reviewers have said- and they’re never too sure on how long you’ll be waiting for your food. For the style of cafe it is and what they serve, it should not be that long of a wait. That being said, the area they are in, most of their business isn’t regulars and people will always be coming and going regardless of the level of service and the reviews. Even for myself, they have great coffee and I love their scones ( when they aren’t out of them) They have a unique selection of things to buy and a good atmosphere to hang out. It’s just not the place to go when you’re on a schedule to be somewhere.

A nice rustic appearance, working fireplace, and nostalgic feel. The outdoor porch sitting area is very inviting. We visited the afternoon before and enjoyed some of their ice cream on the porch. This rainy morning at camp, we decided to try breakfast at Bud's.It took a long time for our food to arrive, and we were a bit disappointed. The plates didn't appear as advertised on their website and weren't prepared as requested. My eggs were overcooked, and my wife's breakfast pannini was dry. No napkins were brought with the food. You have to get them yourself at the coffee stand.Overall, the ambiance was nice, the service polite and pleasant, but the food preparation needs some work.

Buds is great place to eat with kids. Pretty busy during dinner especially with the local school being so close. Has outdoor seating for summer. Freak bakery products as well.

Absolutely killer cinnamon french toast, hearty breakfast sandwiches, quality coffee, friendly staff who didn't mind my slightly goofy coffee order, a cute and spacious eating space, clean bathrooms. Wonderful everything really!

I feel like their system needs work. You order at the counter, they take your name. Then you find a seat. They come out and call your name when your order is ready. We were told it would be 30 minutes for our sandwiches. (Not a problem, it was busy) We waited for an hour for food when we finally went up and asked about it. They stated that they had one of our sandwiches but gave the other one away. The sandwich we did get was cold and soggy. It had been sitting for a while. Needless to say, we probably won't be going back.

We arrived here at 6:10pm. There was a family of 4 ahead of us prior to ordering. (Our friends) We ordered 2 salads and one plain kids hamburger. The sign above counter said “please know we cook everything fresh, so average wait time is 25-30min” Ok, we can respect that. 45 min go by and 3 more orders had walked in since we arrived. A couple who came in to pick up an order they called in an hour ago complained. My husband then went up to ask about our order. The staff went to the cook and asked about our order. He looks at ticket and said oh I haven’t even started that.” Girl goes to board and changes wait time to 50min. After waiting 1 hour and ten minutes we went to counter and requested a refund. We are told, “we are only 4 people”. I get that the workforce isn’t easy right now. The problem here wasn’t the workforce. it was the process. The owner literally was back there making one meal at a time, meanwhile each meal in that party sat and got cold. I grew up in the restaurant business and managed one of our restaurants. If you have 4 employees in there and 12 people to serve, then train your staff to run a line! You’re serving sandwiches, burgers, panini’s and salads. It isn’t that complicated to train 18-25 year olds to make a salad, cook a chicken breast or throw a patty on a grill. If the owners has control issues over what he serves then you need to stick to serving ice cream, coffee and desserts. Your reviews show this is a pattern. You lost a lot of customers tonight and refunded a good amount of money from several parties. I hope you find this review and it opens your eyes. Your place has a ton of potential to flourish but your going to need to make some changes or your not going to survive much longer Bud.Oh as we left, your staff changed the sign to say 1 hour 30 minutes wait time. 🤦🏼♀️ ditch the sign. It’s not even accurate.

As a local I try and give to my money to local businesses owners as much as I can. Buds has a great look with lots of potential,However I've tried a few times to like my experience there as the food has usually been pretty decent (I usually get the Huevos Ranchero wrap) however today I'm afraid may be the last time I go back for a while if ever. Today my fiancee and I swung in for a quick grab and go (a doughnut,a bagel and two coffee's) we got ours coffee's and donut within 5 mins. After standing there for around 10 minutes we asked about the bagel we had ordered and they informed us that it was "coming right up" after another 5-7 minutes the handed us a toasted bagel and we were on our way. It did not appear to be busy in there at the time. The staff appear to lack a sence of urgency and management seems to enable the behavior. A great place to eat if time is no concern.

As a local i've tried giving this place a chance numerous times and am dissapointed everytime so i've decided i will no longer be giving Bud's my business. Everytime i come here the wait is very long even for simple to go items like coffee, donuts and bagels. Me and my fiance waited 30 minutes for a bagel two weeks ago and had to ask two times after ordering to get it. Everytime i go in there it seems like a decent amount of people are working and yet something gets messed up on my order or your waiting a very long time to get it. Today i attempted to go there to get a donut- simple enough, only to be informed by someone sitting in the parking lot that they were closed on a Sunday. I understand these days its hard for places to get staff but from what i see this place doesnt have a "staffing" problem it is a managmenent/owner problem and the staff need better training. Simple and basic adjustments would produce a very differnt experience.

Prices vary. There's stuff under $10 also. Check them outOne of my favorite places to have a mocha latte since 2012.Their food is delicious. They have an tasty menu. I say give Buds a try. Won't be disappointed.Inside is decorated with antiques fishing gear etc. And seating is comfortable. And their staff is friendly helpful and remember my large mocha by heart. They're amazing ❤✌☺Update October 2023 ▶️ I truly love this place, their food, pastries, drinks and ice cream and the wonderful staff. Plus they make their own waffle cones. There's a quaint store in the restaurant which sells different items, some local made products and Michigan theme. Check them out 😊Parking: There's handicap parking also.
