Great selection of fish and plants! Plants are actually submerged unlike the big box stores. it's a very "rustic" interior, but who cares? I'm there for the fish and plants. All of his plants are submerged, and healthy, which you won't find at the big box stores. The selection of fish he carries is amazing. Many of his fish and plants are cheaper than the big stores too!Do yourself, and our community a favor, shop small local business! In this case, you will probably save money and have healthier fish and plants too.

I decided to drive 1.5 hours out of Kalamazoo to Tank Dreams in Howell and upon arriving, I was impressed with the diversity and quality of fishes that Darren carried. His dedication and knowledge to the hobby is far greater than the majority of people I've met personally in the 15+ years I've kept aquariums. His business is still in its infancy and I wish the best for it as it expands. Thanks for getting me my lungfish!- Jonathan

Had a great experience here! Got fish for my big tank and some duck weed for my wife’s tank. The guy there was very knowledgeable and experienced and gave me tips and tricks for the type of fish I had. I loved the set up he had and plan to do more business!

Very unique place. I had prior communication on line prior to coming in. Very vague. When walked in, there was no help or anyone in site for approximately 4-5 minutes. The staff was helping clients in another room.When staff came into the room I was in, staff appeared to have minimal "general" communication skills.For a small business, I would encourage better signs when you walk in the door on where to go (up stairs or to the left) Also, if you only help one client at a time please communicate this in all online, in all messages and maybe generate a sign to support your customer service policies.

What a lovely find! It didn't look like much from the outside, but my, he had some beautiful and unusual fishes. The owner, Darren, is just beginning his set up, but what he has is awesome already! He's knowledgeable and very helpful and advised us on what type of fish we should get for a running tank we have. Rainbows is what we got! Thanks Darren.

I've been wanting to stop in and so glad I did! The owner was very patient and knowledgeable with all my questions. His store was stocked with happy fish of all kinds and colors. I could have stayed all day when I met the puffer fish! I have 3 happy bala shark babies added to my tank and lots of snails.. I couldn't be happier. Thank you again!

This store owner hid these reviews. I was there when this happened and his temper is bad. Everything is fine until you ask for a refund because he lied about the size of tank you need for this fish. I will never go there again.

Ordered online was told we would get tracking info within 2 days based on their site details. (took 9 days ) Did not receive any tracking information for several days so I tried calling, leaving a voicemail and texting. I sent a few emails to two different email addresses. Received no responses at all and still have not. I attempted to cancel this transaction and went with a different company. I disputed this payment. By the time I received confirmation that it was being shipped I had already bought fish. Now I'm overstocked. The fish appear to be doing well. However the lack of communication has been very disappointing and has caused an overstocking issue as I didn't receive any confirmation of when the fish were to ship. Wouldnt have ever purchased if i knew it would be 9 days instead of 2.

I visited the store today. Very disappointing. Door was open, one dim light on. Many tanks extremely low on water. Many dead fish in the tanks. Looks like the owner lost interest and should shut down for the sake of the fish. Nobody showed up, so we left after 5 minutes or so. I wouldn't buy anything here.*** I guess I should have taken pictures to prove my point.. you nor your employee were in your shop at 2:45. Lights were out. My wife and a friends daughter were with me and they couldn't believe that this was supposed to be a legitimate fish shop. If you think your shop is the real deal, you need to do some visiting to other shops.

Tank Dreams is great! You can tell the owner cares about his animals and has an excellent selection of fish. Highly recommend a trip to downtown Howell to his storefront location. The shop had some very healthy Kuhlis that now have a new home in my tank.

Ordered fish on Nov 4th and they still have yet to ship. The fish I ordered were in stock and when I went to check again they disappeared from the website. Have called and emailed to no response. Not a great experience and would not recommend this company to anyone.
