I had many deer processed here in the past but last year was the worst experience I won’t go back. 200+plus deer and they gave me two boxes. They left out my back straps put about ten steaks in bags I asked for 2-3 in a package Half the vacuum seals were not sealed. The ground meet was half tallow and silver skin terrible taste. I argued about the amount of meat I got back. The guy at the counter said that was the normal amount I went back because I new something was wrong they found another box with my name on it in the freezer. To many things to mention that made the experience bad the place really went downhill.

I have been buying my meat in bulk for years from here. They care about their customers and will even take your boxes of meat to your car for you. Everyone there is kind and helpful. I always recommend my friends and family whenever they are looking for great quality meats at competitive prices.

I took a field-dress doe to have them process it. I was told over the phone it would be $140. When I picked it up they charged me $145. Also, the doe field dressed at 100 pounds. I got about 28 pounds of meat back. After researching numerous reputable websites, you can expect to recieve about 35% - 40% of the field dress weight back as edible meat. Here's the math: 100 lbs x .35 = 35 lbs; 100 lbs x .40 = 40 lbs. I should have received 35 - 40 pounds of meat from my processed deer. I only received ~28 pounds. The doe was shoot through the ribs so no other meat was damaged. WHERE'S THE REST OF MY MEAT!? I'll stick with Jerome Country Market. Though further from home, they are excellent.

Brought a doe there this year and this place is such a scam. When I went to pick up my meat the butcher walks out with a tiny box which I opened up and it had literally 10 pounds of ground, 3 lbs of snack sticks, and back straps.Total of 13lbs of meat plus back straps.I told them what is this? Where is the rest of my deer? They tried to play it off, like that was it and I had to argue with them that this is ridiculous, I brought in a healthy doe and I should have gotten 30-35 lbs of ground plus the specialty cuts.Plus, once I left I realized they didn’t give me my tenderloins too which is the best cut of the deer.The sales clerk at the front desk ended up telling the butcher to go get me 10 more lbs of ground, I still wasn’t okay with that so he sends him back for 5 more lbs.So then I’m wondering, who’s deer did they give me?This place is clearly unorganized and they don’t care about making sure you get your own deer back.I paid $160 for 25 lbs of ground venison, some snack sticks, and backstraps.They are running a very shady operation, stealing portions of everyone’s deer and money.Very unhappy with them.

It's ok, though not what I was expecting. I thought it would be a fresh meat store. There is some, but mostly everything is frozen so it's hard to tell what you are actually getting. I wanted bone-in chicken breasts. They were frozen, of course, and in packages of two. They seemed quite large. When I defrosted them, one was very large and the other was quite small. Not a great dinner for two.They do carry a great deal of seasonings and other ingredients you may not find in regular grocery stores.

First time visit today, I'm from out of town although, my Son is a business owner and lives in the area. We are both very impressed with the quality of the meat. And the gentleman at the front register was very accommodating and went out of his way to help me. My Son is already telling people in the area to visit and they will not be disappointed.

Took a 3 year old Doe in. Was done in a timely mannar however, I did not get ANY burger back. When I called, they told me I had too much stuff made up. I took a button buck to Jermoe Market a year earlier, had the same amount of stuff made and STILL got about 20lbs of burger back. I've heard after they fact from several people they keep part of your deer to sell in their store.The products I had made were good and the meat they sell is good, however I would NOT recommend taking your deer there to be processed. Richardson's is up the road. They do a great job and give you all your meat.

Just purchased our prime rib there. We asked for 4 pounds. When my husband picked it up, the box said 5.48 pounds and we paid for 5.48 pounds at $15.99 per pound. I have purchased boxes of chicken here before, and the amount of chicken I received are consistently less than what I paid for. So, with that in mind, I took the prime rib out of the box and put it on my food scale. It was 4.94 pounds. I took it in and also weighed it on the bathroom scale, and it weighed at 5 pounds, both times it was weighed in packaging. I called the store, and the gentleman that I talked to was less than helpful. Basically, it was too bad, their scale is correct and our scales are wrong. If I had only weighed it on one scale, I may be more inclined to believe this. This will be our last purchase there. I'm sure that they are making a killing, if they are charging all of their customers an extra 1/2 pound on all of their prime rib purchases.

Overall nice people, but they processed my deer meat wrong. When placing an order, you fill out a sheet that states what you want. When I received my order they gave me some hot sticks that I didn't order and different quantities of flavors compared to my original order. When you spend over $150 in processing, you expect to get what you ordered. I called them and they said I got exactly what I ordered, when I know I definitely did not order hot sticks. Haven't tasted any of the flavors yet, but regardless I know I will not be a customer knowing that I can't expect to get what I ordered.

Our first time at Great Lakes, we were impressed. We recently moved to Highland and looking for new places to try. We were celebrating our 34th anniversary and because we are unable to dine out we decided to BBQ steaks. They were amazing. Can't wait to go back. I want try their crawfish and many other items they offer.

Dropped off a deer for processing and it took s month to get back. Spent $190 to get it processed and have jerky, summer sausage and hunters stick made and it wasn’t worth the wait at all. Everything is flavorless and bland at bestWill never recommend to anyone

I was ignored by the man behind the meat counter even after I rang the bell for service. After a good amount of time I got his attention and he was very short with me and unfriendly. He wasn't willing to help make decisions for me like he either didn't know or didn't care. He just wanted to be done with me like the store gets money for a source other than customers. There are more, and better, meat markets not too far from this one I will going to instead

DO NOT USE THESE GUYS FOR DEER PROCESSING. Took 3 weeks to return. Was not weighed in when dropped off, but missing about 15 pounds of meat (we estimate). We ordered 4 Summer Sausage logs but they were not with our order. The guy said "it's scratched off on the order". No explanation or apology where the rest of our order was. The horrible customer service combined with horrible processing warrants zero stars.

This is the only place I will buy my filet mignon from. It's amazing! I've bought filets from tons of nice stores and none are as good as this place. The men that run the place are good ol' country men and I love it! I lived up north for 10 years so it's nice to see that here. They helped me with what kind of air fryer to get. Honestly, I'm planning a wedding in the next couple years and I plan to make the food we had on our first date. Filet mignon, Chilean seabass, asparagus, and gouda spinach with key lime pie with oreo crust. 100% I will be asking this place to supply the meat. Also their chicken and pork is delicious! I literally just ate their burger patties. I get cheddar bacon patties for myself and regular burgers for my boyfriend. They are delicious! Even frozen! My boyfriend and I are very picky. We have eaten at all the nice restaurants in Troy, Tampa, and Vegas. All those steaks are amazing but $20 for 16 ounces of filet mignon for my boyfriend and I is comparable, if not better than a $85 six ounce steak. Go here! It's amazing!!!

Great selection of meats, they've got those beef short ribs that are hard to come by and so much more! Lots of seasonings and just about any jerky/brining kits you can think of. Good variety of cheeses, friendly service.Only reason not 5 stars is venison sticks were a bit gamey, even for venison; some family members couldn't handle the taste.

Same issue as Scott Harrington. Both my neighbor and I brought our deer there last year. Both deer came back rotten. Delivered ours the very next day after they were taken. Took over a month and I have yet to open a single package that isn't rotten. Even more of a bummer is that it was my FIRST buck. Beyond disappointed. Will NEVER go back there again.

Quality is going downhill. We ordered a turducken years ago, and it was delicious. So for thanksgiving this year we ordered a turducken... The worst texture ever, absolutely bland, and no stuffing rolled in. The duck skin was mostly left on and rolled in, bones were still in...so there was no slicing it. The turkey was spongy and had a funny aftertaste, they did not even bother to salt in between layers.It served everyone and the dogs...cause only the dogs really wanted it. I should have listened to the other reviews. It was obvious this was slopped together by someone who doesn't care for flavor, quality, or customer experience. Thank you for helping us eat less this thanksgiving. Will not be driving an hour out of my way to go to great lakes meats ever again.

Very friendly staff. Have put meat bundles together on short notice for me happily. Love the quality of their beef, pork and chicken. My family quit eating chicken a year ago till we started purchasing our poultry from here. Like the vacuum sealed indiviual packages so I can cook exactly what I want. Thank you for providing better meat options than the garbage sold at the grocery stores.

Very disappointed Dry Dry Dry. Just went here got a little bit of everything. The breakfast sausage casings slit completely open 2 mins under the heat and came out dry and flavor less. I honestly thought it was turkey sausage and the same with their brauts. The steak was so so sadly I can get better cut at sams club. Venison sticks also not that great. Best thing was the bacon but you cant really mess that up.

The meat and dairy that come out of this place is unreal. I was kind of hesitant at first but from the first bite I have been head over heals in love. The prices are hard to beat. The place is clean as can be. The workers are so friendly and helpful.
